Maya
Feathery touches connected with my hand. That made my eyes fly open, looking below. I was met with an odd hand, which made me spring forth and back in awe at the female in front of me.
“The girl who survived a storm that killed all. The girl who couldn’t speak, yet fought her way through.” she chanted.
“Ran away from a place she lived most of her life, chose to wake a prince to help her. The girl with a dark destiny filled with bloodshed--"
“Who are you?” I asked.
My thoughts wandered off as to how she knew all these about me.
“You’re pitiful.” she snorted. “Your future with the dark prince, is indeed dark.”
My eyes became bloodshot as she added those words. It looked like a dream, yet I was currently in the familiar room. Where was Delilah and Javier?
“Who are you?!”
I was already freaking out. She had a straight, long blond hair. Her lips, in a crimson lipstick, her eyes were blue with some gothic lining under.
“My bad, my name’s Katherine.” she muttered. Around her neck was a necklace with a black pendant, she was beautiful, yet, something about the way she looked at me seemed off. It was like she knew something I didn’t know.
“Do I know you?” I asked again.
She stood up from the bed, taking a mild stroll around the room like it was hers. “I came to greet my brother’s bride. Sorry I was tempted to look into your past and future.”
“I needed to know the capabilities of our enemies.” she snorted, walking to the door.
“Enemies?”
“Sure. I’m certainly not your friend, Maya. There are three people you shouldn’t be friends with. The first is my mum, Zoraida, me, and my brother, Rufus.” she seethed, with a hateful glare.
“I-I don’t even know you, Katherine or whatever your name is…” I scratched my head saying.
“Now you do.” she said with a yawn. “They told me you’re the future Queen but it seems they’re mistaken. You know nothing about the palace.”
Her hands moved to get to the door.
“Wait.” I hurried to stop her, when I sped a distance suddenly. My eyes widened on the stamina and amount of time I got to her.
“Get.Your.Hands.Off.Me.” she seethed.
I stared at her amusingly. “Why? Didn’t you start this? Who told you to look into my past without permission?”
Katherine ripped my hands off hers, before answering,
“I’m your sister-in-law. Also, older than you, Maya. I do not need approval for things that benefit my family.”
Her hands reached for the door, opening it. She slammed it at my face angrily. Someone opened the door just as she left. I was met with Delilah’s face.
“That witch… what was she doing here, Maya?”
Delilah moved to drop the tray of food in her hands.
“You can speak out, can’t you? I mean you’re no longer my doll, are you?” I asked her.
“Sorry, I’m used to it. Why did Katherine come here to see you?” she asked out this time.
I narrated the entirety of the event. At it, her fists snapped so did she highlight her fangs in anger.
“This is against the rules. I have to confront King Vladmir about his daughter’s stupidity.” Delilah said, walking to the door.
“Stop!”
I outstretched my hands towards her. “Is it really necessary? Informing the King, I mean?”
I just got here, and I didn’t want to create enemies. This was why I was worried.
“She was sent here, Maya. Her mum, Zoraida sent her to look into you, using her powers. They’re about to make a move before us which could be dangerous.”
“What move?” I asked. “What are you talking about? Who are these people and why do they care about me?”
From distance, Javier’s sister gave me a thoughtful look. She walked towards me, directing me to sit down and eat. Her hands reached for the blood bag I refused to drink. She helped me connect it, so it could go in my body.
While I ate… she began.
“Silver, garlic, holy symbols, fire, wooden stake and sunshine.” she stated. “These are the weakness of every vampire. Do not ever come in contact with any of these.”
“If I do?”
“You die. Or at most become weak.” Her words got right through me, making my eyes widen. “The silver makes you weak, with the garlic and holy symbols. However, the remaining three can lead to your death, Maya.”
My hands trembled, making me leave my food totally.
“Vampires have a ring or pendant which protects them sunlight. I’ll have a trusted witch make one for you,” She moved to dispose the empty blood bag beside me.
“This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t still be watchful against the rest of what could harm you. They are all hazardous, best friend. Staying away from them, is the best thing.”
I contained her words, narrowing my eyes on what I had gotten myself into. I mean I could have seen my parents, and walked away that day…
“Tell me about the palace.”
I didn’t even know when I squeezed those words out.
“The palace is a dangerous place, Maya. You shouldn’t try to befriend anyone here. They’re devious, callous and manipulative.”
“Princess Katherine is I, and Javier’s step sister. Her vampire was blessed with psychic abilities; however, she uses it for evil purposes. Queen Zoraida is our step mother, she’s a witch who aims for our downfall…”
“Queen Zoraida is the mother to Katherine and Rufus. Rufus vampire abilities is unknown; however, his mother pushes him to be the Crown Prince.” she continued.
“Should I be wary of the entire family then?”
“Yes, Maya. Everyone including my father, King Vladmir is dangerous. They all hate Javier and are looking for another loop to end him.” At this piece of knowledge, my theories of what a family should be, was broken.
My heart tugged, tightening at the mention of slaying Javier. Was the fault from his side or theirs? Was I unaware of something…

Javier I left my companera to rest the minute she fell asleep from the excessive weeping. I was fucking self-centered for not allowing her choose. Either way, she would have been a vampire in the end. There were these thoughts in my head, as I reached Ambroz’s doorstep. His apartment was a few steps away from the palace, so were other vampire citizens. I hit the door with an object, till I heard voices, “Who’s that?” It was a womanly voice, which I guessed to be his wife. The door sprang open, only for me to be welcomed with the face of my ex’s sister, Claudia. “Javier!” she exclaimed, dropping the basket in her hands, and leaning in to hug me. “You should have used the doorbell!” I stood stiff, not used to being hugged by anyone. Scratching the back of my head, I was about to say something when two little innocent creatures ran towards me. “Unca Jay, Unca Jay!!” It was two little girls. Their tiny hands connected with my knees and they hugged me, pouting before gazing up. I na
Maya I stared, gulped, my heart skipped in a different pace. A cold chill traveled through my vein and I could feel butterflies swooning through my belly. “I just want my parents, Javier. I do not want to be confused by certain emotions.” I gritted those words, wriggling out of his arms. On entering, I shut the closet’s door at him, hoping he gave up. The room was dark, yet my sight made me able to figure out what to wear. “Your transformation process is the next after bloodlust you felt. Even if I let you go, you would be a danger to humans, wherever your destination might be.” Javier murmured from outside. “Humans.Don’t.Take.Vampires.In.” After he added those words, I heard the room door slamming shut. My hands stopped moving, and I exhaled at his words. What transformation process? What was it like for newborn vampires? … I woke up the next morning, sweating profusely. The night before had been so restless. I couldn’t sleep well. Every part of my body ached for something…
Maya “Am I lost?” I repeated, staring at him cautiously. This familiar man was clothed in an expensive coat. His shoes could stand out anywhere, so as the ring which was wrapped around his fingers. His hair was dark, with little strikes of blue and he appeared elder. I could smell that he was a vampire, yet, I couldn’t dismiss the fact that his presence radiated authority. Delilah said no one in the palace was my friend. The elderly man stepped nearer; I took a step back immediately in fright. “Fret not, dear. I’m King Vladmir, Javier’s father.” He said, taking another step towards me. This time I didn’t move an inch. I was on spot, appalled by this revelation. King Vladmir took my hands, raising it to his chin. “Such translucent skin and a pretty face. My son caught himself a gorgeous bride, I must say.” he murmured, kissing the top of my palms. “Thanks, I’m delighted you think so. Have we by any chance met?” I asked, with a broad smile on how he knew I was his son’s wife. Th
Maya Javier settled me on the bed, as we continued the make out session. My thighs were assembled around him, clinging to him as if my life depended on it. I could feel a certain heat and fire in me. Wasn’t even sure I could control myself, which was a bit unusual. “You’re in heat.” he murmured. I sighed the minute his hands disconnected with my body. Javier rolled away, standing up from the bed. “W-What is heat?” I chewed on my lips, asking him. His eyes scanned me interestingly before he paced to and fro, as if he didn’t know where to begin from. “What is heat?” I asked again, wondering why he was acting strange. “For every vampire, heat turns up when you’re newly bitten. It happens to every female and male and only your companera can quench it. That’s what you’re experiencing now…” “What is companera?” My words were clear, yet, desperate. Javier leaned on the bed post, purposely avoiding any limited space with me. I liked his distance but my skin hated it, my body wanted hi
Javier As I walked away from Maya’s room, someone paced behind me. I pretended not to notice and then when I felt the presence again, my dark reflex was the first to act. The person got pinned on the wall, in a millisecond with my fangs out. As my face connected with my previous lover, Scarlett, my eyes bolted at her. “Scarlett?” I snarled unbelievably. How was she here, alive? Didn’t she die in the rebel? “Still as dangerously wild as always…” she whispered, drawing nearer and nudging her nose with mine. I moved away. “That’s what I like about you, Javier.” I studied her features, which were still intact. Almond brown eyes, brunette hair and a robust figure. I could see her breasts pump from her outfit, which was a raven black long dress with a corset. It looked like she was in the 18th century. “Come with me.” I said, pulling her hands along. I had some questions for her. Judging from her outfit, she had just woken up from a box too. As I slammed my room’s door shut, Scarlett
Maya “My Princess…” My eyes flew open, at that voice. “Wake up, we are here to deliver your clothes and accessories.” I stared at the maid in front of me. From her smell, she was a vampire, however, she directed her face to the ground. It was more like she was afraid of something. “W-what?” “Where is Delilah and Raven?” Since they were the people that led this entire thing, weren’t they supposed to be here at least? “They are helping Queen Zoraida with the banquet arrangements. Please come freshen up and check your clothes.” she stated. “We arranged it already for you, in the closet. The light is also fixed.” At her words, I jumped up excitedly. Hell knows I didn’t come here for this, but what girl didn’t want this? In my purple tank top and lemon SpongeBob shorts, I walked rapidly towards the closet. I heard the maid snap her hands— about 7 other maids rushed in. “Wow,” I said, eyeing the renovated closet. Everything was in a transparent glass, like a fashion design shop wou
Maya I kicked my legs quick, faster, more rapidly. I did it till I was gasping and just when I went out of breath, I collapsed on the floor with a glare at Delilah. “Why did you stop?” I cleaned the sweat off my forehead, with a frown. “Why am I even doing this? I mean, I came here for something entirely different.” “Thought we went over this, Maya.” She drew nearer, bending down with a pat on my back. “Nobody’s your friend here. While you wait, the best form of attack, might be defense.” Her words sounded meaningful. Whenever I remembered how I was compelled to marry Javier, however, it fumed me. “I-um, have to go.” I murmured, standing up and walking out hurriedly, pacing my footsteps. “Maya!” she called after me. “Maya, wait!!” I groaned when her hands brushed my shoulders, the minute I was outside. “What??” She stared at me astonishingly, “You can’t give up, yet. We’ve barely begun anything.” “Why do we have to begin anything? I didn’t fucking ask for this.” I seethed at
Javier She’s not leaving me. Hell damnation, she just isn’t. Even if she wanted to, our bond won’t make her to. It won’t allow any of us to live with it. Not telling her that though… She was going to learn… “Is that everything?” I arched my brow asking her. Delilah went for shopping with Claudia and didn’t even know about my companera leaving. She’d be so disappointed on finding out. “Yeah, I um, returned the stuff you bought except the undies… I guess.” Maya replied. Her face seemed shy from the mention of that, cheeks reddening. It was really cute. “I don’t mind, they’re your stuff now. The princess is entitled to a myriad of luxuries,” “That’s nice, but I’m not that anymore, am I? This union was fake…” she stated, with half a chuckle. “…we should get going, Javier.” “I’m not taking you, snowflake. I’m still in the process of learning how to drive well.” I smirked at her, saying. “Ambroz is.” I helped her lift the little bag, watching her startled expression. “Oh…” she trai
