Mira's words had a calming effect on me, one that lasted for about the time she spent in my room. Even though it was not so much time, I was entirely grateful.I got into bed after she left, and forced myself to sleep when the thoughts on Magnus returned.I couldn't tell how long I slept for, but when I woke up, it was already dark. Mira was by my bed when I woke up, waiting on me with a tray of assorted dishes."Mira," I called fondly. Her presence[Dylan]Once the mask came off Avira's attacker, my mouth hung open in shock. No! This is impossible!I said in my head, and blinked rapidly. Maybe this was only a nightmare, or a figment of my imagination. It just can't be!But Declan was looking at Avira's attacker with the same look I had on my face. His hand clung loosely to the fabric of the mask while his mouth hung open in shock. His eyes, now widened, were fixed on Avira's attacker, whose face was now filled with tears.Beside me, Avira tongue-tied with shock, slowly climbed out of the bed. Her whole body shuddered, following every movement she made. She stood uprigh just then, and her voice broke when she spoke."Regina?" Avira called with her eyes opened so widely as if they would pop out of their sockets any time. Her head moved from side to side as she shook it in disbelief."Magnus is–" She stopped herself from completing her statement, and s

"I'm sorry for the way I spoke to you earlier," I apologized while she was setting the tray on the table, and arranging the dish."It's alright," she said simply, and then she wiped her hands on her apron, a sign that she was done setting the table.I began to eat slowly at first but then I realized just how hungry I was, and I just had to increase my speed.I was done eating in no time, and even though I could have used more food, I r
[Avira]I headed straight for my bedroom with a straight face, even though I felt like the devil inside. I could not get the thought that Magnus might be innocent out of my head, and I couldn't make myself stop feeling guilty. It was possible that Alpha Vincent was only trying to get into my head with the words, and it was possible that he was right as well, so yeah, he succeeded, he got into my head.Mira's sudden gasp pulled me out of my thoughts, and I faced her. But I couldn't fake a smile. Even though she looked at me with so much excitement."Thank the Luna goddess you are back, and okay. I was worried sick about you." She called excitedly, but I just wasn't in the mood for all that. But she continued anyway."I was shocked when I came back, and couldn't find you by the bunker. I thought–I feared something bad had happened to you." Mira said, showing just how worried she had felt yesterday."I'm fine," I replied shortly. I
[Avira] Magnus, an innocent man? That can't be right! He tried to kill me more than twice. Lied against me, turned my family against each other, made Regina a puppet among so many others we will never know about. How can he be innocent after all these crimes? I didn't want him to be innocent. I didn't want to be guilty of calling for the gruesome murder of an innocent man. "That's not possible. He can't be innocent after all the evil things he did and commanded." Declan replied. His voice was harsh. He too didn't want to believe what Alpha Vincent said. My heart was thumping hard against my chest as the possibility of Magnus being innocent crossed my mind. The possibility that I made an innocent man go through the worst kind of death. "How can that be?" Dylan asked. His voice was calm, maybe too calm. "He–" He paused, and looked around for a w

[Avira]I watched the whole drama unfold before my very eyes with my heart pounding. I watched as both Gustavus and Antonio were subdued by Unity pack warriors when they tried to defend me. I watched as Declan arrived at the pack, and how willingly and easily he was going to defend me. I watched as Dylan arrived with warriors from TwinMoon pack, and how with Never in my entire life have I felt so loved. In my quest for revenge, I had forced myself to Unity pack without thinking about what would happen next. How could I be so illogical?I only realized too late that I was no match even for the lowest ranking warrior in the pack, let alone for Alpha Vincent, especially with no one else with me.Declan's presence had made my heart glow, and filled me with so much gratitude. Although I was quick to notice that he too was no match for the warriors of Unity pack, it did not dim the happiness I felt for his presence. And just when I th
