Giovanni pulled me and his mom from the packhouse into the main house, fuming from the pack members' reaction and rejection.

“It’s okay, mi amore. They’ll come around. They're not used to having changes and want to stick to the tradition but they all know the moon goddess knows best,” his mom tried to assure him, looking into his eyes while I hid behind his back, secretly rejoicing that the people had rejected our union.
