Kieran’s pov

“I’m asking you to listen to the message when it comes.”

“But what if I wait and nothing happens?” I asked. “What if he needs me now?”

“He does,” she said softly. “And that’s why you must go.”

I could feel my emotions rising as I sighed. “You still don’t get it do you? My son is out there. He’s just a babe. He needs me. I already failed to protect him once—”

“You did not fail,” she cut in.

“I did! I left him with someone I trusted, and now he’s gone!”

She stood up again. “And now you’re trying to fix it. That means you haven’t failed. That means you’re still fighting.”

I looked away. I hated how her words made sense. I hated that she was right.

“You must go home,” she said again. “And wait.”

I turned toward the door.

“Kieran.”

I stopped.

“You are a strong man. But sometimes, strength is not in the sword. Sometimes it is in the patience to wait.”

I looked around with an angry look as I didn’t know what to say. I didn’t fully understand what she was saying.

But I knew that

Salvatore’s povThey stood in silence. Some of them had tears in their eyes. Others looked shocked. But none of them stepped forward.I walked slowly toward them.I looked each one in the eye.“This…” I said, pointing at the fallen men. “This is your fault.”They didn’t answer.“You think you can test me?” I said. “You think your little pack can scare me?”One of them tried to speak. “Please, Salvatore—”“No!” I shouted. He went silent.“You want to blame me for Donovan’s death? Fine. Do it. But don’t think you can touch me and walk away. I will remember this.”I looked around at the others.“When I take over this pack—and I will—you will be the first to go. I will rip your titles from you. I will burn your seats. And I will not stop until every last one of you learns who rules.”They didn’t answer. They knew better.I took one step closer.“In one week,” I said. “You will give this pack to me. Or I will take it with blood.”None of them moved.“Say something!” I barked.Still silence

Authors povSalvatore laughed. “You think it’s me? We didn’t trust each other.”“We know it was you. The whispers and signs.” An elder growled.“Whispers? Signs? Is this how you govern your pack now? With rumors?”The room grew tense. No one said a word.Salvatore sighed and straightened as he pointed to them. “You all are stupid. Without Donovan and Damien, your pack is free to rise again—under stronger leadership. Perhaps… under mine.”One elder stood up quickly, fists clenched. “So it is true? You want to rule us? After murdering our alpha?”Salvatore smiled again. “That’s quite the story you’ve told yourself.”The elder slammed his hand on the table. “Enough with the games, Salvatore!”Salvatore’s eyes glowed faintly. “Watch your tone.”The room went silent again. The elders were afraid of this dangrr err our man but kept quiet. One elder stepped forward with a frown.“This is not a war we want, Alpha Salvatore. But we will not bow to a killer. You may be powerful, but we are not

Authors povIn the meeting room, the sound of fire crackling in the hearth had the elders from Donovan’s packs silent as they stared at each other without saying anything. They had grief on their faces as no one said a thing. They were still mourning. Their alpha—gone. His son—dead. And now rumors. Dangerous ones, were coming up.“It was Salvatore,” one elder finally said. His voice was low, but firm. The others looked at him.“You heard that too?” another asked. He nodded. “It’s everywhere. Whispers. From the guards, the hunters… even the traders who pass through.”“But why would Salvatore do that?” another elder asked. “What would he gain?”The first elder leaned forward. “Power. Control. With Donovan gone, he could try to take over this territory.”“Or perhaps… revenge,” a third voice added. “We all know Donovan and Salvatore had history. Bad blood. They almost had a war so that counts.”They all fell quiet again. The fire popped.“I say we don’t just sit here,” one elder spoke fi

Salvatore’s povI then stood in the middle of the war room as I looked at my map. Red marks showed our borders. Blue marks showed where the rogue groups were last seen. And the black mark… that was Kieran.I turned to the guard standing by the door.“Call in my generals. Now.”He bowed quickly and rushed out.I didn’t have to wait long. One after another, my top generals walked into the room. Strong men. Loyal. They bowed deeply to me before standing in a half-circle around the table.“Alpha Salvatore,” General Morn said, “you called for us.”“Yes,” I said, walking around the table. “I have a job for all of you. It is time to protect our land. Kieran is still out there. And I want every road, every bridge, every gate guarded.”General Tov nodded. “We will double the guards.”“No,” I said, shaking my head. “Triple them. No one goes in or out unless we say so. I want checkpoints in every village. I want curfews. I want our borders to look like steel walls.”General Kane stepped forwar

Salvatore’s povI was seated in my room with the baby going in my arms.I smiled at him faintly. He was sleeping peacefully, but I knew the world around him wasn’t peaceful. Not anymore. This child was more than a baby. He was power, blood and future. And he now belonged to me.I rocked him gently as I murmured against his earlobe,” You’re safe here now little one. With me . I’ll raise you… and you will grow stronger than all of them”Suddenly, the door burst open. I glanced up in surprise to see the witch. She hurried inside and looked very anxious. “Alpha Salvatore,” she pleaded, “I didn’t mean for it to go so far. Please, just give me the baby. This wasn’t supposed to happen.”I looked at her as I ground my teeth and raised one brow. “You come here, into my home, into my pack territory, to take what’s mine. What makes you think I’ll stand by and take that?”“Please,” she said fearfully, barely loud enough for me to hear it. “I just wanted to protect myself and it’s selfish. Don’t

Kieran’s pov“Yes.” I spoke the word aloud. “Yes, he did. He wants to rear it—him, I mean, for his son and heir.”“Nonsense!” said the man. “What do you mean?”“He said it was all part of his plan. He told me he killed Sirella’s mother. All of it was planned. Every single thing.”I didn’t want to tell him about the moon bane so I kept quiet.Darren backed away again. “That’s too much, Kieran. You’re telling me he planned everything?”"Yes.""And now he has your child?"“Yes.”Darren looked like he wanted to run. “No,” he said quickly. “No. I can’t help you.”“What?” I asked.“It’s Salvatore. He’s not just an Alpha. He’s more than that now. He has soldiers. Witches. Guards. Power.”“I don’t care.”“Well, I do,” he snapped. “I have a family, Kieran! I have a mate and two pups. I can’t throw everything away just to help you fight a war you already started without backup.”“But that’s the thing. I didn’t start this. It started when they took my son.”“Donovan’s death was too much,” he con
