Sirella's POV

I should have known Kieran had something crazy planned. After hours of hiking, my legs ached, my throat was dry, and my patience had run out. But when we finally stopped, I almost wished we hadn’t.

A giant house was at the top of the hill, towering over the trees like something out of an old movie. It wasn’t a normal house—it was too big, too dark, too… intense. The walls were made of stone, and the windows were tall with thick curtains that barely let any light through.

I hesitated, shifting from foot to foot. “Where are we?”

Kieran didn’t answer.

Of course, he didn’t. He just pushed open the tall iron gate, which groaned loudly, like it hadn’t been moved in years. Without looking back, he walked inside.

I sighed, rubbing my face before following.

Inside, the air felt different. The floors were covered in thick red carpets that silenced our footsteps. Golden candle holders lined their walls, their flames flickering just enough to cast shadows. The scent of roses mixed

Donovan’s povI was angry. No—furious.Storming down the stone steps, I barely noticed the cold, darkness of the dungeon. All my eyes could see was red and I walked through the heavy door as I entered the dungeon. She was there.Sirella. On the floor. Crying. She looked weak. Broken. Her hair was snarled up, her body still drained from bringing life into the world. But I didn't care. She was awake. Good.“How could you let someone take my child?!” I shouted as I hurried toward her.She tried to sit up, but she was tied down. She winced in pain and looked at me with red eyes full of more tears.“Donovan—please—”“You think I give a damn about your tears? You think I care how tired you are? You let someone steal my heir! My son!” “I didn’t know—I was asleep—I saw someone, but—” I kicked her in the belly and she doubled up."You useless thing," I spat. "You were given one job. Just one job. Keep the child safe."She cried harder now. I grabbed her by the hair and tossed her to the si

Kieran’s povI got closer. Then I reached down trembling. My wolf twitched. Not just twitched—he growled. Loud and fierce, as if he stumbled across a long-lost friend.I gaped at the infant.I knew.I didn’t need Sirella to tell me. I didn’t need the moon goddess to write it in the stars. This was my son.I slowly gasped as tears fell from my eyes but I quickly brushed them away.He looked so peaceful. Small fists curled up. Tiny nose. Dark hair. Just like mine.I touched his cheek gently. Warm. Alive.I felt my heart beat as I sighed.“Don’t worry child. Your father is here.”The words felt weird. Foreign. But true.“I apologize for being absent but I’m here now. And I’m not going anywhere.”I stepped back from the small cot, holding the baby in my arms. His small fingers wrapped around mine, and my heart beat fast. I didn’t need anyone to tell me. This was my son. My wolf knew it. My body knew it.My soul knew it.Then I heard footsteps. Slow, steady, proud.“I was wondering how lon

Kieran’s povI was in my cabin and I sat on the floor. I had just come back from a mission that Salvatore had sent me on. I dropped the empty bottle I had been drinking from and sighed as I couldn’t hold it anymore.Suddenly I heard a sound outside my door as I frowned and pay for up.The door burst open as three men in black came in.My eyes instantly flew to their insignia on their arms a I knew who they worked for.Donovan.“Get him!” one of them shouted.I didn’t even think. One of them lunged at me with a knife. I dodged, seized the dagger I’d been honing, and whirled. He swung his fist at my head, but I slipped it and hammered my knuckles into his gut. Doubled over, he gagged on a gasp.“You chose the wrong place,” I hissed.Another one came through the back, but I heard his footsteps across the wood. Before he’d taken three steps, I twisted and seized his arm. He tried to strike me with a blade. I twisted farther until he had no other choice but to allow it to fall from his f

Donovan’s povI stood by the window in my study, looking down at the garden as Damien strode across it. I could see his shoulders were stiff and his fists clenched.Suddenly the door opened behind me as footsteps were heavy and slow.“Alpha,” the general who entered murmured politely, bowing his head by a few degrees.I nodded slightly without turning my gaze. “What do you want?""The men are out," he said. "They're still out searching for the child. We've found nothing yet."I sighed and closed my eyes while taking in deep breaths.“That child is not just any child. It’s my blood. My heir. They should know that.”“Yes, Alpha.” The general shuffled his feet nervously. “I was thinking… Perhaps we could call in some reinforcements.”I turned now, narrowing my eyes at him. “Help?” “Yes,” he nodded. “Help. Someone to help who can track… someone who has sharp senses - and can find even the most hidden trail.” I folded my arms. “You mean a tracker.”He nodded once. “Yes. And I know one.

Damien’s povI was alone in the old hut. It was small, a distance from the pack and no one came here unless they were called. I transacted business here. Business that others need not know of.The walls were made of dark wood, the roof leaked a little and it always had a smell of old smoke and damp wood. But I didn't care. I sat in front of an open window on a wooden chair, my hands inclined along the table edge and rested my heavy head on them. I brooded."What have I done?" I asked myself, softly speaking. The door opened with a loud, harsh creak. I did not lift my eyes to see who it was at first. I merely watched their feet as they entered; two pairs of heavy boots.“Prince Damien,” one of the guards said, “we’ve done it.”I finally made myself look up. My eyes went straight to what they were holding. The baby. Sirella’s baby.“Give him to me,” I said, standing up.The taller guard stepped forward and gently placed the small child in my arms. He was bundled in a white woolen blanke

Sirella’s povI laid in bed with my body feeling weak but at least I had given birth to my child. I felt relief.I heard the soft laughter around me and saw the healers around with tears of joy in their eyes.“Thank the moon goddess,” one of them said. “She is strong.”“She has brought the child into the world safely,” another added.I nodded and looked around.“Where is my child?” I asked as a healer came forth.“Here,” she smiled and gave me the child.I looked down. My baby was tiny and red. His eyes were closed and I could see his chest going up and down.He was breathing. He was alive.I smiled through my tears.I whispered to him, “Hello. It’s you… It’s really you.”But I noticed something. The child looked nothing like Donovan. There wa only one person he looked like.Kieran.***The healers went about cleaning the room. One of them started to mop the floor. Another picked up the blood and water soaked rags. Someone else folded the extra blankets.I held my baby close. He was w
