Zoe's pov

It's two years since my mum and dad died and I am thinking about them every day, but I have to be strong, mostly for my brother, but also for my pack. I am a temporary Luna of the Green Flash pack for two years now, even though I am firstborn, my parents and I wanted Nate to be the Alpha because we wanted Alpha to be from this pack if the Moongodess mated me with some jerk from another pack. 

"Happy birthday Zoe" shout my brother and run into my office.

I smile at him and hug him before thanking him. Today is my 18th birthday, so I can find my mate, but I don't want to, Nate is only 15 and I can't leave him now.

But the good thing is, that most of the packs don't know that we still exist. Two years ago we were in the war with rogues and we almost lost, but my parents sacrificed themselves for us and the pack.

But we still lost more than half of the pack, so now we are just a few families and we stick together in quiet, to be safe. I do not want to lose this. I know, that I am luna because of my parent's death, but I love it, love to be the leader, the ideal person for every child in my pack.

If I find my mate is some jerk I will probably kill myself. So I and some old members of the pack decided, that we would stay hidden until my brother could become Alpha.

"Zoe? Zoe?! Earth to Zoe!" say my brother until I find out, that I zoomed out of our conversation.

"Sorry Nate, what were you saying?"

"That you have to stop working and go have lunch with me, Meredith and Alex."

Meredith and Alex are my beta couple and best friend., Alex's parents were also betas for my parents, but they also died in the war. But even when Nate takes the alpha position, they will remain betas.

I sigh because he is right, I have been in my office a little too long for the last couple of weeks, but he doesn't know that I was chatting with my new penfriend instead of doing work.

His nickname is Blake, and mine is Rose, like my middle name. We chat with each other for almost a month. Almost nonstop, every while I text him or answer him. We talk about everything and anything. He is my best friend now because I can tell him my feelings a be emotional because with my pack members I have to be strong. And that is killing me. But I have to somehow find out if he is a human or a werewolf.
