Dinner Date

Knowing her father would be home for a few days at least, Ada decided to drop by after work. She knew her grandparents would be at the summer house as it was apple harvest season and her grandfather would be damned if he allowed those kids to get any of his apples.

She entered the house to strange tranquility. There was no technology sounds or people activity. Shoes, earrings and the watch had to come off immediately in case there was a need to shift.

Silently moving deeper into the house, she heard her father’s booming voice. He sounded irritated; he was reprimanding someone. She was too familiar with that tone. She tried not to run.
