The following morning Ada heard her front door and Emma’s familiar footsteps. Except they sounded different. An anxious, frantic Emma showed up in the kitchen seconds later.
“I am so sorry; this is the worst time for this to happen. I don’t want to leave, but I don’t know what else to do. I am sorry, Ada... I found my mate.” She was almost crying.
