Chapter Thirty-Nine

Elion

Six hours later and Sally enters my room with the potion.

“Here you go little one.” She winks, handing me a small glass. I pull the glass up to eye level and stare at it. “Don’t worry, it’s not going to kill you. It’ll just stop the potion Lydia made for Amelda.”

“I guess I have nothing to lose. Down the hatch.” I say raising the glass and taking it in one shot, surprisingly it doesn’t taste like anything.

“Do we know how she came to make such a potion, to lead Elion to believe he found his mate?” Rush asks.

Sally shifts uncomfortably, “I have an idea but it’s not good.”

“None of this shit is good,” I tell her, sitting on the couch in my room. Rush sits in the single chair, but Sally paces her brows furrowed in concentration.

“I believe the scent marker she used for this potion is your mate.”

I jump up. “What do you mean?”
