Chapter 2 An accusation

Alicia slapped Adrian very hard.

"You have no right to insult me! I'm not a cheap girl like the one on your side! At least I didn't sell myself or seduce you, you approached me first! You...lowly man! I regret knowing you! We're breaking up!" Alicia said with her chest heaving.

"YOU...!" The woman named Tiffany tried to get closer to Aly but was held back by Adrian by giving her a warning look with his gaze. She finally looked away, holding back her anger.

"Shit! Have it your way Adrian!" she grumbled under her breath and was still heard by Adrian.

Adrian held his cheeks, looking back at Alicia who had already left followed by Lylyan behind her.

Adrian stared at Alicia's departure with sad eyes, a part of his heart was taken away, but he shook his head, he did the right thing.

"Hey! Stop! It's not you who decided, it's me who decided you! Hey, stop, poor girl!" Adrian shouted but Alicia ignored him. In fact, everyone began to disperse, staring at Adrian with sardonic gazes, whispering but no one dared to speak up.

Adrian stared angrily at the crowd and also at Alicia who was getting further away.

"What, you dare to speak, huh?" Adrian stared angrily at the crowd while touching his cheek which was starting to hurt.

"Damn it! All because of that stupid girl!" Hey! Come back you little shit! I'm not done talking to you! Did you hear that? I'm the one who broke you up! Not you!" Adrian shouted angrily again.

But the one he was calling wasn't even there. Alicia had disappeared into the crowd...many people moved away...away...until...

BUGH!!!

"ALYYY!!!"

Alicia blinked her eyes, she looked around her. It turned out that she was already in a room. Then she held her head, which felt heavy.

"Don't get up yet, Aly! You're still very weak! You fainted earlier! I almost called a doctor for you if you didn't wake up in five minutes.

I'm so worried about you Aly! Are you okay?" Lylyan looked at her best friend with a worried look on her face as she handed her a glass of warm water.

Alicia tried to smile as she drank the water her best friend handed her. And then handed it back to Lylyan.

"I'm sorry, I made you worry. I'm fine, it's just that my head hurts a little!" Alicia said in a weak voice.

"Of course, your head hurts, you've been asleep for so long! I thought you'd never wake up again Aly!" exclaimed Lylyan, still worried.

"Don't make this up, I just fainted instead of dying! Oh, yeah who brought me here? Why am I here? Isn't it..." Alicia stopped talking because she remembered that she had been humiliated by her lover who betrayed her and even played with her feelings all this time. Alicia covered her face holding back the sobs that she had been holding back.

Alicia began to cry.

"Oh, no, Aly! Don't cry! You don't deserve to cry over that bastard! That lowly, cheating, manipulative man! He doesn't deserve you!" Lylyan put down the glass that Alicia had handed her earlier and placed it on the dressing table. Then she put her arms around her best friend who had begun to cry.

Alicia cried in her best friend's arms. "But...Lylyan, what did I do wrong? Why would he do this to me? Why would he betray me, even play with my feelings just for the sake of a 'thing'? Am I that low, Lyly?" Alicia tried to look at her best friend's face with tears streaming down her face.

Lylyan hugged her best friend again and buried her face in her chest while gently stroking Alicia's beautiful long black hair.

"Oh my God...Don't blame yourself Aly! You're not wrong! You just fell in love..with..the wrong person! That's all! He's the one who went too far and played with the feelings of someone as good as you! He's at fault! Not you!" Lylyan hugged tighter as Aly's sobs grew louder for a while. When Alicia's cries subsided, Lylyan loosened her embrace.

Lylyan looked at her best friend's face with a concerned smile but then the smile turned a little wide, "Look at you, you're so beautiful, smart, hardworking, he'll regret it! Because there are many out there who like you! But you closed your eyes because you love Adrian too much! Don't cry anymore!"

Lylyan wiped away the remaining tears on Alicia's beautiful face on her soft cheeks.

"Huh? What do you mean?" said Alicia, breaking her focus.

Lylyan smiled confidentially, "What I mean is, haven't you noticed that Brian and even our customers at the bar are always staring at you in amazement? It's not uncommon for them to come just to look at you, Aly!" Lylyan said as she dried her eyes.

"I don't want to hear the names of Adrian and his friends! And don't mention the men, they must be the same! All rich people are the same! They think that just because I come from a poor family and work in a club as a waitress, they can play with my feelings! I've had it! Let's not talk about men anymore!" Alicia tried to cup her hands over her chest.

Lylyan shrugged her shoulders as she stood up, "Suit yourself, but I see Brian is different from his two best friends! He seems to care about you! He even helped me bring you to the boarding house! And all the way he kept panicking and worrying while occasionally patting your cheek to wake you up! He even waited for you to wake up long enough for someone to call him! And it seemed pretty important!" Lylyan straightened her clothes as she told her story, fixing her light make-up.

"Cih! Caring you say? No! He's just feeling guilty! Remember! he had a hand in that gamble too! I already considered him a friend! But he's no better than Adrian! That's enough! I won't be fooled again! I'm also sure it was Adrian who called! Adrian must have asked where Brian was...no one dares to oppose Adrian, I know that for sure!" Alicia looked back at her best friend.

"By the way what are you doing, why are you looking so organized? Are you leaving?" Alicia asked curiously.

Lylyan turned to Alicia, "Of course going to work! Did you forget?"

Alicia hurriedly got up and grabbed her best friend's hand and looked at the clock on her hand." Oh, my God! We could be late, it's almost 18:30! Why didn't you wake me up? We could be late, couldn't we?"

Alicia glared at her best friend, they had to get to the club' which was also a restaurant before 19:30 before the restaurant and club' opened at 20:00.

"Wait for me, let's go together, I won't be long!" Alicia exclaimed as she headed for the bathroom.

"Wait a minute, Aly, shouldn't you rest at home? I'll tell the boss that you're sick!" Lylyan held back Alicia's hand.

Alicia smiled, "Thank you for your concern Lylyan, I'm lucky to have a best friend like you! But, that little incident won't stop me from earning money, right? Breaking up doesn't mean the end of the world does it? Never mind, wait for me for a moment! I'm fine!"

Lylyan could only exhale her breath seeing her best friend's resilience. To be precise, she tried to be strong.

After the terrible things that had happened to her, Alicia tried to look as normal as possible at work that night. There was none of the crying that Lylyan had seen in her boarding room only a few hours ago. All was lost in the smiles and laughter of Alicia and her co-workers.

Alicia was always cheerful at work.

Until unexpectedly Alicia, who was cleaning the table, was approached by a beautiful woman who pulled her hand roughly, making Alicia stagger a little.

"What the hell... You? What are you doing?" Alicia exclaimed and then looked at the person in front of her in surprise.

"Don't play innocent! You stole my expensive jewelry bracelet! Return that diamond-edged bracelet to me! You know it was a gift from someone who means a lot to me and it's worth more than 15 billion! Give it back!" cried the beautiful and sexy woman as she gyrated her waist with one hand and extended the other towards Alicia. As people began to arrive and stare sarcastically at Alicia.

"What? Are you crazy?"
