Chapter 4 Aly was arrested? Or...

Everyone turned their heads in the direction from which the voice came, as did Alicia who was already frightened and teary-eyed.

Alicia didn't expect to have two bad things happen to her in one day, to be dumped and humiliated in front of a crowd and now to be accused of stealing in front of a crowd again! It was as if bad luck refused to leave her.

The man who appeared from behind the crowd of people approached Alicia, Alicia could barely recognise him except for the dark, tearful eyes, Alicia tried to tighten her gaze.

"You...?" Alicia could only say these words.

The man approached and slightly lowered his head to examine Alicia's condition, "Are you okay?"

Alicia could only shake her head weakly and look down. After being reassured, the man straightened up and spoke while looking at the two guards who were still holding Alicia's hand.

"Let her go!" the man shouted. The two guards looked at each other.

"Sorry...but sir..Miss..." said the two guards.

"I said let her go! Don't you know who I am?" he shouted back.

Who doesn't know the son of the Carson family? Although not as rich as the Anderson family, the Carson family cannot be underestimated. The Carson family was good friends with the Anderson family, and someone influential in the country. Because Patrick Carson, who is also the father of Brian Agler Carson, is a respected diplomat.

It turned out that the person who shouted and tried to help Alicia was none other than Brian Agler Carson, Adrian's best friend.

"But...Sir..." while the bodyguards were on the verge of confusion, someone laughed very loudly.

"Hahaha...Are you trying to protect this poor girl, Bry? Well, well...don't tell me you like that village girl! Honey, it turns out that your best friend Brian seems to secretly like that cheap chick! You guys have terrible taste!" Tiffany said dismissively.

"Shut your mouth, Tiff! Are you just going to stand by and watch, Adrian? Let the humiliation happen in front of you? Especially since this is Alicia! Someone who was once close to you! I can't believe this! You can be so cruel !" said Brian looking at Adrian with disappointment.

"You don't need to meddle in things that don't concern you, Bry! Don't be such a hero!" Adrian looked at Brian with an annoyed look in his eyes, he was annoyed that Brian dared to defy him in defence of Alicia. And this made him jealous! In the past Brian had never dared to defy him, but now, for Alicia's sake he dared to defy him. He should have saved Alicia instead of Brian!

"If it's about Alicia, then it's my business! She's my best friend! Come on, Aly let's get out of here!" Brian grabbed Alicia's hand and without turning around led her towards the exit. But they had only taken a few steps when they heard a booming and creepy voice.

"Stop! Dare you take her out, then I'll never consider you my best friend again!" shouted an angry Adrian.

Brian stopped walking and said without turning around, "Whatever you want! I've had enough of your outrageous behaviour since this morning!"

After saying that, Brian took another step and pulled Alicia's hand who was staring at him with a confused look, "Bri...?"

Brian just smiled and without answering a word and walked back. While behind him was Adrian's shout accompanied by the sound of falling items, Adrian went berserk and smashed several bottles of drinks that were not far from his place.

"Arghhhh!!! Brian fuck you! You've dared to defy me!" came Adrian's shout again.

Suddenly a middle-aged man came in with his climactic hair a little messy from running.

"What happened? Who's responsible...for all this? Ahh...I'm at a loss!" he said while holding his head with both hands.

"You guys...why are you doing nothing? Catch it! Someone has to be responsible for all of this!" she shouted frantically.

"Money doesn't matter to me! It's the damage tonight! What you need to worry about is your employees!" said Adrian as he threw a large sum of money on the table and walked away.

"Wait! My employee? Does he mean Aly? Where is Aly? Where is she? Lylyan, you said Aly is in trouble? Where is she?" the man said, looking at Lylyan who was behind him.

"She was..." Lylyan, who was stared at angrily by the club owner, began to search for Alicia's whereabouts.

Just as he was getting confused someone shouted back, "Let go of me!!! Let go!" 

"Well, that's...Aly..but...why is she handcuffed? And where did the police come from? Wait! Where are you taking my friend?" Lylyan then ran to the door.

"Sorry Miss, we were forced to take Miss Zareta to the police station on charges of theft! We received a report that Miss Zareta had stolen Miss Tiffany Emery's jewellery!" said one of the uniformed men standing at the entrance who was a police officer.

"I didn't steal! Lylyan, help me! Mr Richard, please, help me...you know this is a trap I never stole! I'm not a thief!" said Alicia tearfully as she continued to rebel while her hands were cuffed.

"I'm sorry miss, you can make that denial at the police station and we'll investigate too! In the name of the country and the law, we are temporarily detaining you! You can request a defence by hiring a lawyer or if you can't afford one then the state will provide one!" said a police officer firmly.

"Aly..." Lylyan could only stare sadly at her best friend who was taken away by the police car.

Lylyan wiped her tears and faced her boss, "Mr Richard, help Alicia! I'm sure she's innocent! She was framed on purpose! And Alicia innocently walked into their trap! Please help Alicia, sir!" 

Lylyan held her boss's hand with tears in her eyes.

Slowly the boss relaxed his hand held by Lylyan.

"I can't help her Lyly, you know who they are! They are the influential people in this country! We won't win against them! Besides...I don't want to complicate my business by dealing with people like them! So..please apologise! Try to understand my position!" said Mr Richard with a bow and went back inside his club.

"Everyone, disperse and get back to work!" He said as he went inside.

Lylyan stared sadly, wiped away her tears and then looked at Brian who also looked surprised at this incident, everything was so fast. She had almost managed to save Alicia. But all seemed to be in vain.

Lylyan approached Brian, "I know you're Aly's friend, please...help Aly...she's alone in this country! She's just an innocent girl who's too kind! So easily the bad guys played her! I don't know what your goal is, didn't you get what you wanted? But why are you still making Aly's life difficult? Her life is already very difficult, she's alone here, without any family! Her goals are also very simple, finish college and work for her aunt and cousin who she considers her own sister! Oh my God...she's just an orphan who wants to change her family's life! Why would you do this to her!" Lylyan looked at Brian and then knelt down in front of Brian.

"Hey! What are you doing? Stand up, not like this! Calm down, I'll do whatever it takes to help her!" exclaimed Brian who tried to step back as Lylyan fell at his feet, and tried to help Lylyan back up.

"Te-thank you!" Lylyan exclaimed with tears in her eyes.

Brian was just about to reply when two people appeared out of the club's entrance, one of the two people said casually.

"Aish! What a drama! You were wrong to ask for help! You should have knelt down and kissed my feet! But...unfortunately, I'll never free her! Let her languish in a cold prison! You lowly woman!"
