Chapter 20: The Caribbean

“This is called Laborie. It’s supposed to have the most scenic waterfront of all of Saint Lucia.” Sam says calmly as the taxi ferries us to our destination. “This is where we will be staying.”

I watch as he points at the beach house while moving around constantly in his seat. Sometimes he reminds me of a child because he will get so excited over the littlest things. He has every right this time though. Not only are the town’s pristine waters the clearest emerald green I have ever seen, but everything about this place oozes romance.

“Wow, this is so quaint and beautiful.” I say with a hint of wonder, but then my stomach begins to grumble again. Leaning forward, I ask the driver, “Is there anywhere to buy food around here?”

When he glances back at me, he nods without saying a word. I have no idea if he even speaks English because he has not said one single thing to us the entire time we were in the car. Even at the airport, he held up a sign with Sam’s last name on it and didn’t
