The Annual Business Gala was organized in one of the most luxurious and expensive hotels in Chicago. Jack stopped the car in front of the entrance and gave the keys to a young valet before he went around the car, and opened the door for Maggie.
She accepted the hand he offered and got out only to face the excessive flashing lights from the cameras of many reporters that came to document the event. "Don't worry, most of them can't get in," Jack leaned in and whispered into her ear. They did, however, pose for a few pictures. It was everything Jack was willing to give them, no matter how many times they called his name and how persistently they repeated questions. Monday afternoon, after he was done with his work in the office, Jack drove to see Rebecca. He couldn't stop thinking about her ever since he got the call. Was it about Wade? Were his instincts right? He laughed bitterly at this thought. When did he turn into a person that was led by instincts? Ever since Maggie came into his life, he started thinking differently and even act differently."I would like to see Rebecca Colt, please," Jack said to the receptionist."Just a second, sir. Let me check if she is done with her therapist." She typed on her keyboard behind the counter. "Yes. She has finished her program for today. Let me send someone to check the garden. The suspense was getting the best of him the whole day, so when the receptionist explained where the gardens were, he rushed there.

But she had a lot of questions that demanded answers, and she was never the type to run away from problems. Maggie believed that problems were like rabid dogs. You can try to run from them and hide, but in the end, the dog will find you and bite you in the ass. So you're better off standing where you are and face the problem.
