“Soooo?” Jo’s stupid face smiled at me, peaking around the front door. I had just perched my ass on the swing.

“I’m not in the mood.”

Jo sighed and let the door swing her around before she came over and sat down. “If it makes you feel better, you did make Cade question himself.”

“How would that make me feel better?” I could feel Cade and Maddox trying to mind-link me, but I kept that door from opening. Screw them, I didn’t want to see any of them.

Jo leaned back and put her arms around the back of the swing. “Nothing like guilt tripping your brother. I bet he tries to make it up to you by buying you a cake or something more shiny?”

“I don’t want either.” Looking over at her, she wasn’t understanding. “Don’t you want to be treated as an equal? You realize this is how Cade will handle things?”

“I hate to break it to you, but that is how Maddox handled things. He really changed some stuff when you came around. You have been involved in more shit than I would have ever guessed.”
