To my horror, the glass door didn’t hide anything as I walked in to see him stroking himself. “Come to help me?” Maddox looked over and saw me.

For a moment, my mind went blank, and I forgot why he was in here. “Oh.. um no. Your phone vibrated so I am just bringing it to you.” Suddenly, this felt like a bad idea. Laying it on the counter, I turned to leave.

“Read it to me.”

That was not the reaction I expected. “Do what?”

Maddox opened the glass door. He had shampoo in his har as he smiled at me. “Read me the messages.”

“Respond no, please.” Maddox didn’t elaborate more and there wasn’t anything in the last few messages above it that indicated what it was.

“Next time is from Katie. She wants to know if you need company after the gathering tonight?”
