“I didn’t know you liked surprises.” Maddox looked down at me.

“She doesn’t. She’s just being a brat.” Cade smirked as he put the truck into drive.

“I like surprises.”

“Oh, really?” Cade even turned around to look at me.

“As long as I get them when I know there is a surprise….” Looking out the window, Maddox pulled my leg across his so he could gently rub them.

“Where are we going, anyway?” Jo asked when we hit the highway going outside of town.

“Tatum’s favorite restaurant.” His eyes found mine in the rearview mirror.

My face instantly lit up. “No way!” I tried to lean forward, but Maddox kept me in place. “Seriously?”

“What is it?” Jo looked back at me.

“It’s a steakhouse in the next town over. They have this chocolate cake she is obsessed with.”

“Not Samuels?” Jo looked at Cade. “That is almost impossible to get into.”

“For normal people.” I muttered, but did my little happy dance. “I get cake it!”

    Cade had suggested we go out on a date together. Just the four of us, but that meant that I needed to dress up. Jo let me borrow a dress that she hadn’t worn.
