Cora stared at the message on her screen until the words began to blur.

"I can help you."

Three simple words from a complete stranger. Three words that should have made her suspicious, cautious, maybe even afraid. But instead, they just made her feel... confused.

Who was this person? How did they get her number? And what did they mean by help?

Her thumb hovered over the message, her mind racing with possibilities. It could be anyone. A reporter pretending to be friendly so they could get an exclusive interview. A scammer trying to take advantage of her vulnerability. Or worse, someone sent by Liam or Vanessa to torment her further.

But something about the message felt different. There was no sensationalism in it. No false sympathy or invasive questions. Just a straightforward statement. Simple. Direct.

"I can help you."

Cora's fingers tightened around the phone. She wanted to believe it. God, she wanted so badly to believe that someone out there actually cared about what happened to h

  • Meet My Overprotective Brothers    Emergency

Caleb was in the middle of rounds when his phone rang. He glanced at the screen and saw the emergency code from the hospital dispatch. His blood ran cold."Dr. Sterling, there has been a serious car accident. Multiple casualties. One of them is a Cora Sterling. Family relation listed as sister."The phone nearly slipped from Caleb's hand."Where?" His voice came out rough. Desperate."En route to emergency now. ETA four minutes."Caleb was already running. He shoved his phone in his pocket and sprinted down the hallway. Other doctors and nurses jumped out of his way as he barreled past them."Clear trauma room one!" he shouted as he burst into the emergency department. "Major vehicle collision incoming. Patient is family. I am taking lead."The emergency staff moved into action immediately. They knew better than to question Dr. Sterling when he used that tone.Caleb scrubbed in quickly. His hands were shaking as he pulled on gloves. His mind was racing with terrible possibilities. How

  • Meet My Overprotective Brothers    First Day

Two weeks had passed since the announcement at breakfast. Two weeks of legal paperwork and board meetings and arrangements being made. And now, finally, Cora was walking through the glass doors of Sterling Tech Solutions on her first official day of work. The building was impressive. All modern architecture and sleek design. Glass and steel reaching up toward the sky. The lobby was pristine with marble floors and a massive reception desk where three people sat answering phones and directing visitors.Cora felt her stomach twisting with nerves. She wore a professional navy suit that Caleb had helped her pick out. Her hair was styled. Her makeup was minimal but polished. She looked the part of a Sterling executive. But inside, she felt like an imposter."Miss Sterling," one of the receptionists said, standing up quickly. "Welcome. Mr. Ryan Sterling asked me to direct you to the fifteenth floor. Your office is ready.""Thank you," Cora said, keeping her voice steady. She took the elevato

  • Meet My Overprotective Brothers    A New Beginning

Cora did not sleep that night. She lay in her bed staring at the ceiling, Liam's threats playing over and over in her mind."If I cannot have you, no one else will."The words made her skin crawl. Made her chest tight with fear. But she refused to let that fear control her. She had spent too many years being controlled by Liam. She would not give him that power anymore.By the time dawn broke, Cora had made a decision. She was not going to tell anyone about the threats. Not her father. Not her brothers. Because she knew what would happen if she did. They would lock her away in this mansion. They would surround her with security. They would treat her like fragile glass that might shatter at any moment. And she was done being fragile. Done being a victim.Instead, she was going to take control of her life. She was going to move forward. She was going to build something real for herself. She got out of bed and showered. She dressed carefully in professional clothes. A tailored blouse. Da

  • Meet My Overprotective Brothers    Desperation and Threats

The next morning, Cora woke up to multiple email notifications on her phone. She checked them sleepily, expecting work messages or spam.Instead, she found three long emails from Liam.Cora sat up in bed. Her heart was already racing. She had blocked Liam's number. Had made it clear she did not want contact with him. But apparently he had found another way to reach her.She considered deleting the emails without reading them. That would be the smart thing to do. The safe thing. But curiosity got the better of her. She opened the first email. It was long. Rambling. Full of warnings about Vanessa. About how she was planning to destroy Cora. About how Liam had ended things with Vanessa to protect her.The second email was more of the same. More warnings. More pleas for Cora to meet with him. More declarations that he was just trying to keep her safe. The third email made Cora pause. It was shorter. More personal."My feelings for you have resurfaced. I realized tonight that I never stopp

  • Meet My Overprotective Brothers    Broken Alliance

Vanessa stood in her bedroom, shaking with fury. Liam had just told her he was choosing Cora over her. That he was ending their relationship. That his feelings for Cora had resurfaced. After everything she had done for him. After supporting him when Cora left. After helping him plan ways to win her back. And this was how he repaid her. By turning against her. By threatening to expose her plans to the Sterling family."You bastard," Vanessa said. Her voice was low and dangerous. "You complete bastard."Liam was still standing by the door. He had not left yet. Just stood there looking at her with those pathetic eyes."I am sorry," Liam said. "But I cannot be part of whatever you are planning. I cannot help you hurt Cora.""Get out," Vanessa said. "Get out of my house right now.""Vanessa—""Now," Vanessa screamed. "Get out now before I throw you out myself."Liam flinched at her tone. Then he turned and walked out of the bedroom. Vanessa heard his footsteps going down the hallway. Heard

Liam pushed open the bedroom door. Vanessa was sitting on her bed with her phone pressed to her ear. She looked up in shock when she saw him."I will call you back," she said quickly into the phone. Then she hung up and stood. "Liam? What are you doing here? How did you get in?""I still have a key," Liam said. "Remember? From when we were together.""You should have knocked," Vanessa said. Her face was flushed. Guilty. "You cannot just walk into my apartment without permission.""I heard you," Liam said. "On the phone. Talking about ruining Cora. About destroying her."Vanessa's expression hardened. "So what if you did?""So you need to stop," Liam said. "Whatever you are planning, whatever you are doing, you need to stop it right now.""Why should I?" Vanessa challenged. "Why do you care what I do to Cora?""Because she is still my wife," Liam replied. "Because I am trying to get her back. And you going after her is not helping."Vanessa laughed bitterly. "Your wife? Liam, she left
