I waited for Mike to say it…. For him to say yes, but he simply keeps quiet and look everywhere but me.

“Mike, answer me. Do you love me?”

“Mike, it’s yes or no, just say it.” I look at him anxiously.

My heart breaks. I knew he was definitely going to say no, but I was hoping he would change his mind. Hearing him say no only makes my heart hurt more.
