LONDON, ENGLAND: RENÉE’S POV

Jackie and I were in Esme’s room getting ready for my engagement dinner tonight. When the girls had finished dressing up, they helped me to choose the perfect outfit for tonight. It was a stunning dark red sleeveless gown. It was tight fitted dress with a thigh high side slit. The girls had styled my hair into a deep side part with Hollywood waves before the guys arrived.

“Hold up, where’s John?” Jackie asked, when she noticed it was just her twin and my bodyguard.

“He’s gone to purchase the perfect engagement ring.” My bodyguard choked out mockingly.

He had his lips set in a permanent scowl as an emotion I couldn’t decipher flickered in his eyes for a second. Jack seemed to understand his demeanour and simply patted his shoulder reassuringly before leaving with him.

“What’s his deal?” I whispered to the girls after the guys left to go check up on John.

“I think he has a thing for you, and is jealous that you’re getting married.” Esme replied with a smirk.

I scoffed glancing at Jackie for confirmation, and she also nodded with a smile. I laughed at the ridiculous idea, following them out of the room after successfully putting on a pair of killer stilettos.

When we run into the guys Jo was present in place of my bodyguard. He handed the ring to Jack who graciously slipped it on my finger. It had me wondering why the arsehole possessed the title Fiancé, he should be slipping this ring on my finger not my best friend. Maybe I could just marry Jack then Soledad could marry the arsehole.

When we finally made it to the second floor, my bodyguard was waiting by the stairs for me. I willingly linked my arm with his, ignoring the teasing looks from my gang.

My gang and I were seated in a huge dining-room with our parents, awaiting the arrival of Charlie and his entourage. It had been three hours now and they still hadn’t arrived. What was taking ‘em motherfuckers so long? Why would anyone want to be late to an engagement dinner? I mean it was a dinner, with food and everything. I was starving. I tapped my heel impatiently against the marble floors and sighed in frustration. I decided to tune in to my gang’s conversation to while away the time.

“It’s funny how Ren is taking this arranged marriage well.” John commented causing me to glance at him with a raised eyebrow.

I didn’t know what he was getting at, and I didn’t want to find out either. I ignored him as my stomach begun to grumble incessantly. I resumed tapping my heel impatiently. Why couldn’t we start eating without them?

“At least she gets to rule instead of Cal.” Jackie stated nonchalantly.

I quickly glanced at Calvin who was seated further away from the rest of us. Our eyes met for a brief moment. I almost felt guilty when I noticed, unfortunately, the emotions swirling in his eyes; sadness, guilt, anger, admiration and others I couldn’t decipher.

Poor guy. I loved him and all, but I wanted this too much to call off the marriage.

“I could almost imagine this mafia crumble under his leadership.” Esme added with a short laugh.

Oh, no.

Soon after, I heard the dragging of a chair against the marble floors. We all looked up to see Cal abruptly leave the dining-room. I instantly concluded that he was hurt. I mean, what would you do if your crush was saying such things about you? He had had a crush on Esme ever since he laid eyes on her.

My thoughts were interrupted by the arrival of a certain Spanish family. Well it was about time.

BALI, INDONESIA: ISABELLA’S POVWhen Dimitri had told me that we’d be going to mall tonight to watch a movie at the cinema, I was ecstatic. I mean, what could go wrong? It was when we finally arrived at the cinema that I found out he had bought tickets to a horror movie, The Exorcist: Believer. Just like my mum I wasn’t good with horror movies. No matter how hard I tried to not get scared shit, movie night with my friends ended with my face buried in pillows for most parts of the movie. Rosalie had gotten my father’s insane love for horror, and we ended up having silly arguments anytime we had to pick a movie to watch as a family.I tried all I could to convince Dimitri that horror and me was never a good idea. Unfortunately he didn’t take me seriously, and literally carried me into the theatre so we could take our seats.Aji had been tasked to get us popcorn and drinks. I silently prayed he got us a large bucket, so I could focus only on finishing it up. If that didn’t work, I would

BALI, INDONESIA: DIMITRI’S POVAfter I carried her back to the bedroom things got heated between us pretty clearly. This time I left out the cuffs, and gave her the chance to show me what ecstasy felt like. That amazing mouth of hers worked wonders on my dick, and it made me crave for her more. I could not get enough of Isabella. We had agreed that she would continue to take the pill. We weren’t ready to bring little ones into our messed up lives. I realised yesterday that I was still sore from my mother’s death. To tell my wife about how her mother-in-law died, I needed to muster a lot of emotional strength. I definitely wouldn’t like to break down in front of her.The next morning the cook had prepared some nasi goreng. It was the Balinese version of fried rice with fresh veggies. The delicious dish had been served with fried eggs, and I could tell Isabella enjoyed it very much.Today I planned to take her on a tour of Bali. I would take her to a few tourist sites in the area. I cal

BALI, INDONESIA: ISABELLA’S POV I woke up to an empty bed the next day. I sat up and looked around in confusion. Dimitri definitely wasn’t in the bedroom, but there were colourful paper bags at the foot of the bed. I checked them out to satisfy my curiosity. They contained clothes, make up, and heels. I had forgotten that I didn’t get the chance to pack anything for the trip, but my phone. These clothes definitely wouldn’t do for the short time we were to be here, I’d have to go shopping. I got up from the bed and opened a door in hope that it lead to a bathroom. I found a jacuzzi bath tub, already filled with water and floating red roses. I took off the sheet I had wrapped around my body and stepped into the tub.I dressed up later, and left the bedroom to find Dimitri in the kitchen. The cook had arrived, and had prepared breakfast. When I first noticed the numerous stacks of pancakes, fried eggs, and cut bananas, I thought it was all too much for just two people. That was until I

BALI, INDONESIA: DIMITRI’S POVMy jet landed safely at the Denpasar International airport in Bali. The car I had recently purchased and the driver I’d hired were waiting patiently for us. I got off the jet first and helped Isabella to come down without tripping over her dress. When her heels finally touched the ground, I swept her off them and into my arms. I walked us to the black Mercedes-Maybach, and the driver opened the door to the backseat so that I could put her in. I got in beside her, and the driver shut the door after us.Aji took his seat and revved the engine, while I sent him the directions to my penthouse. It was located metres away from the world famous Uluwatu Beach, and had a great view of the ocean. I bought it a year ago with the idea that if my dad became too much for me to handle I’d just go there to lay low for a few months. It was beautiful, and I had no doubt that Isabella would love it. I paid some people to set the mood for us before we arrived. When Aji pull

LONDON, ENGLAND: ISABELLA’S POV I was dressed in a charming applique V-neck wedding dress with spaghetti straps. It was elegant and backless with a long train. I held a bouquet of flowers in one hand, and the other held on to my dad’s arm. We gracefully walked towards where Dimitri stood with the officiant. The bridesmaids, Alice and Rosalie, had already gone before me with the maid of honour, Jessica. Dimitri’s best man, Sam, stood beside him and had his gaze fixed on my sister. She did look stunning in her outfit. Who could blame him? I caught Dimitri’s gaze when I drew closer to him and held it even after my dad gave me away. The ceremony began, and I hadn’t even realised that I had been holding my breath in anxiety. There was this sinking feeling in my stomach that something would go wrong. We took turns reciting our vows and then slipped a ring on each other’s finger. It was when Dimitri was told that he may kiss the bride, did shit hit the fan. Gunshots rang out from every po

LONDON, ENGLAND: ISABELLA’S POVI went to Jess’ room when I returned from Laurent’s house. She was in bed watching a Netflix series on her laptop. I got onto the bed, and buried my head in her pillows to groan as loud as I could.“Let me guess, Dimitri signed the contact.” She commented.“Yeah, and I had to tell Laurent everything.”“And it obviously didn’t go well, but not bad enough to make you cry.”I turned my head to face her, “If my parents have thought me anything, it’s to fall with your head and not your heart.”Jess didn’t reply, something had caught her attention. It was her phone. Out of curiosity I leaned over her MacBook to get a look, but she quickly turned off the phone. I mentally rolled my eyes. I knew all six numbers of her passcode.“What was that?” I enquired, scrutinizing her facial expression in case she’d lie to me.“Noah sent a nude photo of him, and it’s for my eyes only.” She replied, and waved me away with a hand.I shook my head and fell back on to the bed
