"Imogen, the party is tonight." Hames reminded me, like I didn't know that already. I guess we were sticking to Imogen and no longer 'Miss Mark' now.
I stopped myself from glaring at him but I ensured my face didn't read any friendly expression.
"Aren't you excited for it?"
"What's so exciting about the stupid party?" I scoffed.
He rolled his eyes, walking up to me on the couch and sat beside me. That was definitely not an action that was comfortable for me.
"Go to my room, there's a box on the bed. It's for you." He said indifferently, took the remote control from the table to turn on the television.
"Thank you so much, I received it earlier today and I'm damn grateful." Lila said from the other end of the line."It's nothing.""Are you kidding me? Another $10,000?! I'm certain it's got something to do with your boss, let him know I'm very grateful. The Doctor has assured me that Mom's surgery would be great and she'd be fine on or before next week.""Really?" A grin appeared on my lips."Yes. And I can notice the improvement in her health, she's doing really great and it's all thanks to you and God. Our Mother would be fine soon.""Wow, I'm super excited!" I squealed, feeling the greatest form of joy building up in my belly. I was beyond ex
"Whoa, a visitor." Nikita said, referring to Lila and shut the door behind her."Oh, she's here." Lila rolled her eyes, crossing her legs on the couch."Of course I'd be here because I live here." She scoffed, walking up to us on the couch and dropped her bag to the floor carelessly."Oh, right. She does. I think I forgot that." She replied sarcastically.Nikita sat on the couch opposite to the one we sat on. "You definitely forgot that." She turned to me. "How's your boss now? Should I be expecting to be an Aunt to a Millionaire baby now?""Nikita, jeez." I picked a throw pillow and threw it at her.
[RECAP: IMOGEN HAS AGREED TO GIVE HAMES A CHANCE AND THEY WENT ON A ROMANTIC DINNER WHERE HE CONFESSED THE CRAZY THINGS HE HAS DONE FOR HER]***"We'll burst the door open then yell 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY'." Lila whispered."Silly, it's not Mia's Birthday." I whisper-yelled with a roll of my eyes."Oh, yeah. Sorry, again. I'm just too excited, so it's making me confused."I glanced at the small cake in her hands then back at her face. "Be sensible."She rolled her eyes. " Whatever. Don't forget; Mom, not Mia.""Yeah, right."&n
[RECAP: IMOGEN WENT TO A COMPANY AND ACCIDENTALLY SET IT ON FIRE WHICH SUFFOCATED HER.]~ HAMES HENDRIX ~"That's it? I'm done? Whoa, I didn't see that coming." I shut my laptop with a graceful smile on. If I knew I'd be done with work at the office so early, I'd have gone with Imogen to Mr. Hawthorn.Remembering the closeness between Imogen and I earlier today; how my arms were around her, my hand on her chin, the way her beautiful lips moved when she said 'I love you too' (ignoring the fact that I made her say it), made my smile extend.I had never been this happy in my entire life. Being with Imogen was the greatest joy of my life and I couldn't wait to have her as mine completely. I assured mys
~ IMOGEN ~"Get married to you?" I frowned. "How on Earth is that possible?""It is possible because it'll happen. Forty Million dollars isn't such a small amount of money but for you, I'll give everything I have. You caused the fire, I'll repay it, then you'll get married to me.""The fire wasn't absolutely my fault. The stupid man had candles everywhere. Why would there be candles in an office?""And how did the candles start the fire? On their own?" He raised an eyebrow with another smirk tempting to appear on his lips."Of course not. I wanted to view the fireworks and shifted the curtains. I didn't know it was going to touch the fire from the candle. If the c
"Hey, Lila. Can you come over here?" I asked, crossing my legs while sipping from the juice box."I already left home and I'm heading to your house right now. I'll be there in a few seconds, or a minute. Bye, I have to check something in this stupid car." She groaned."Thanks, babe." I ended the call, dropped the phone and juice box on the table, resting my head and legs on each arm of the chair and resumed watching the television. I had lost interest in the movie long ago but I hadn't turned it off due to the situation at hand ringing in my head.Nikita chuckled. I glanced at the dining chair she had pulled to sit in a corner of the living room. She was grinning from ear to ear and her face was crimson.
"Mom, this makes absolutely no sense." I said to Mia, scanning myself in the mirror. Though Kim had done wonders to my face and hair to make me look more stunning than ever and the wedding dress was screaming its expensiveness, this entire day was a shithole to me."How and why?" Nikita rolled her eyes, standing in front of me to view herself in the mirror. "Whoa, I'm in love with how I look.""How and why? I'm literally being forced into this marriage, it's really wrong. Hames has proven to be a terrible person once again." I walked up to Mia."I agree it was wrong of him to force you but I'd definitely do that also if I were in his place. To have the man I want as mine completely?" Nikita scoffed. "He waited for too long. I'd have done this the next month after
There was a knock on the bedroom door. I raised my head from my phone. "Come in."The doorknob turned then the door was pushed inwards. A petite redhead with hazel eyes strolled in and sauntered to me."Good afternoon. I'm Faith Daniel, your personal maid." She introduced herself with a polite bow of her head."Oh…" I trailed off, furrowing my eyebrows in confusion. "Why do I need a personal Maid?"She wore an angelic smile that made me love her immediately. "To help you out with anything you'd need, help you out with your dress, your hair, everything. We can be friends too." She winked."Friends?"
