NIKLAUS

Her eyes darted around quickly before turning back to face me. “Where have you been?” she retorted as she crossed her arms on her chest.

“What is that supposed to mean?” I asked slowly, unsure of the game she was playing at.

“I went out to look for you when you didn’t return. You haven’t been around all day.” she questioned.

“Darana,” I spoke. “I’ve been back two hours ago. I have work that demands my attention and when did you of all people start giving a fuck about me? I growled.

She smirked and sauntered close. She rested her arms on the edges of my chair and winked at me. “Maybe the whole marriage thing is beginning to rub off on me, making me do wifely duties.”

“That’s bullshit.” I sneered and she smiled as she traced a line to my neck seductively.

“Is it?” she murmured close to my ear. Fuck, she was so good at what she does. Thankfully, I was better.

Suddenly, I pulled her against me that she was straddling me with my arms around her waist. “I don’t know, you tell me.”
