LOGINCHAPTER 9
This man had no heart, He knew I was terrified of heights and still dragged me onto this thing. I always avoided looking down when I was up in the office and here he was putting me in a damn chopper.
It felt like years before we finally touched down on the helipad of some high-rise building.
I yanked the headset off before the engine even stopped spinning.
I noticed the two bodyguards both biting back laughs, looking ridiculous.
I followed their eyes to see what’s funny then, I winced. My nails had buried themselves into Sebastian's hand. He hadn't said a word the entire ride, but his jaw was clenched.
"Boss, sorry. I'm so sorry."
He ignored me and turned to the bodyguards instead. Their faces went serious instantly. "Ready the car. Make sure the meeting place is clear."
The two of them took off fast. I was about to follow them when Sebastian pulled me back into my seat.
“Look what you’ve done. It’s bleeding. You’re a grown woman and you’re still scared of heights.”
“Phobias don’t just disappear,” I shot back.
What the hell had he swallowed as a kid to end up having heart made of stone and zero consideration?! I swear Sevi would never be like him. I’d wrap my kid in so much love and guide him the right way so he would never hurt any woman.
If Sevi picked up any trait from his father, I wanted it to be the Sebastian I used to know. The one who was intimidating but sweet underneath. He used to put me first. When I’d cry over school stuff, he was the one who calmed me down.
But I couldn’t see that guy anymore. Maybe he died, or maybe he’d only pretended just to get me. He’d told me it was all a game to him.. I fell so hard I gave him everything.
I regretted being that stupid but I will never regret giving birth to Sevirious.
The helicopter door opened again. A bodyguard handed Sebastian two bottles of water.
"Fix yourself. Don't ruin my meeting by being dramatic."
My mouth fell open as he walked out, tossing one of the bottles to me on his way.
“What an arrogant prick!” I burst out, that made the bodyguard laugh. I figured he wasn’t about to snitch on me when he helped me down from the chopper.
Every hallway we passed through had the corporation's logo stamped on it. The offices here were maybe seven times the size of MedBrain. I was already calculating whether I could get lost on purpose if it meant avoiding the chopper ride back.
The second we stepped into the conference room, I spotted Sebastian at the far end of the long table. At least ten people were there. I guessed the guy up front was going over the corporation’s financial reports.
I froze mid-step when I realized the bodyguard was leading me straight toward the seat next to Sebastian. He glanced back and jerked his chin, telling me to follow. So, I shook my head and pointed at the corner spot where nobody would really notice me.
My hand hung in the air when Sebastian looked up and found me instantly. I kinda rushed beside him because his eyes were warning me.
I lowered my head when I felt the entire room shift its attention to me. They were probably wondering who the hell I was to sit next to the big boss.
Who would dare mess with the only son of the Pharma Magnate?
Sebastian was the king in his territory. The way he carried himself made it crystal clear who was in charge. I twisted the hem of my office skirt when I felt Sebastian’s burning stare and I sucked in a breath as our elbow brushed.
My heart almost gave out. An electric current shot through the point of contact and scrambled every calm signal in my body.
The meeting moved on to the big upcoming projects. Back in college I already knew our lives were worlds apart, but hearing budgets thrown around in the billions made that gap feel even wider.
I wasn’t surprised when Sebastian barked at one guy over inflated material costs. Did they really think the head of Rocc Corporation was too stupid to catch the smallest discrepancy in a project breakdown?
Sebastian’s IQ was above average. Sevi got it from him.
"I want this project clean and done right. There is no room in this company for incompetence!" he snapped, throwing the papers across the table.
The fear was still written all over their faces when Sebastian finally dismissed the meeting.
“Wait for me in my office.”
I gave him a quick nod when he said he had a document for me to draft for MedBrain.
His office wasn’t hard to find.
The second I walked in, the blast of cold air-conditioning almost knocked the breath out of me. His office made MedBrain look like a shoebox. Barely any decoration and it smelled expensive.
The moment my butt hit the sofa, I felt like it was going to swallow me whole. I shot to my feet when the door opened, expecting Sebastian.
But it wasn’t him.
The blonde woman standing in the doorway looked just as frozen as I was.. Lolita’s eyes went wide the instant she finally recognized who I am.
I wanted to sink into the sofa and disappear because I knew exactly how this looked. Like I was the other woman.
"What the hell are you doing here?" she screamed.
"Good afternoon.” I don’t know what I’m saying. Sh!t!
"I asked you a question!" Lolita stormed closer. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm the CEO’s secretary, Ma'am."
"I don't believe you." She looked me up and down with pure disgust. "Sebastian would never hire you as his secretary. You're desper—"
“I’m not his mistress, if that’s what you’re thinking.” I cut her off before she could go any further.
Lolita laughed mockingly and grabbed my arm. “Get out of this office. Out of this building!”
“You don’t need to push me.” I yanked her hand off and twisted it just enough.
“Ouch! You bitch!”
“You started it. I’m leaving, okay?”
“Don’t you ever come back here. Desperate slut!”
She followed me all the way to the door and shoved me again. I was about to shove back when I saw her face go pale. I followed her stare and spotted a guy with the same green eyes walking toward us, smirking.
I shoved her right back. “I already told you, you don’t need to push me. I’m leaving, okay?”
The witch didn’t answer. Especially not when the green-eyed guy stopped right in front of us.
“Who’s leaving?” he asked, voice flat. His unsmiling face was straight-up intimidating.
“I’m going,” I said politely. I’d just wait for Sebastian in the lobby and text him.
“You’re not leaving, miss.” He caught my arm before I could go. Then his eyes slid to Lolita, who was standing there looking nervous. “She will.”
“Huh?”
“You’re leaving, Ms. Asagra. Right?”
Instead of answering,Lolita hurried off like she was scared for her life.
“Why did you send the CEO’s wife away?” I asked, staring up at him in shock.
“Wife,” he repeated and laughed. “Ridiculous. Where’s Sebastian?”
CHAPTER 63Sebastian burst out laughing before giving me a mischievous look. “Well—”He didn’t finish because I pinched him lightly and glared at him when he was about to complain. After one more round of hugs and kisses for me and our son, Sebastian boarded the plane. We waited until the jet took off before Sevi and I got back into the car to return to Northshire Village. It’s still just six in the morning. Sevi had gotten up early just to see his father leave that’s why his eyes were dropping now as he leaned against me. “Baby, let’s get breakfast first so you can sleep properly after.”“Okay, Mommy. I want pancakes with milk.”I kissed his forehead and told Rene to stop by the pancake place before heading home. Sebastian had borrowed Rene from his parents’ house. Since Roman and Florence still abroad, Rene would head back after dropping us off because his wife, who also worked at the Rocc mansion, had a fever. The takeout for Rene and the other household staff was handed to me fi
CHAPTER 62I continued walking but I held onto the mannequin when a man suddenly appeared and into me. I immediately went back to my feet.“I’m sorry.”“It’s fine.” He caught my wrist when I tried to step past him. “What’s your name? Do you want me to pay for your dress?”“No.” “Babe, why are you talking to her?” Tanya’s long nails dug into my arm as she forcefully pulled the guy’s hand away.“I’m just helping her?”“Really? You offered to pay and now you’re just helping?”The guy played innocent, still staring at me. “Yeah. She might not have enough—” He didn’t get to finish because Tanya spun around and furiously snapped at me. “You’re such a flirt!“Wow,” I answered and scoffed at her. Tanya couldn’t reply because the boutique manager approached us. She dragged her boyfriend away in a huff, but the guy kept looking back at me. It was already dark when I got home. The lights were off and the house was quiet. We hadn’t hired any househelps since moving to Northshire Town,“Sevi,”
CHAPTER 61 “So that’s why you were ignoring me?” “I was waiting for you to take it back. And to be sweet to me,” he answered that made me laugh. Sebastian stared at the ceiling to avoid my eyes. “I’m sorry. I got carried away. I shouldn’t have forced you to marry me.”I gently held his face. His eyes were red when he looked back down at me.“I’m sorry too for deciding so suddenly. I was waiting for you to ask me again. You asked me when we were in Malaysia, but you never brought it up after you woke up in the hospital. I couldn’t bring myself to ask you to propose again, so I thought moving out would help, ” I bit my lower lip. “I wanted you to understand that I don’t want a live-in setup…”“You want it now?”I nodded. “Not forever. I just realized I also need time for myself.”Sebastian’s expression was hard to read. “What do you mean?”“I want to go back to school. I didn’t finish because I had Sevi. I don’t regret having him because I wanted him. I wanted to give him all my att
CHAPTER 60Sebastian took me to the very back of the mansion, where it almost looked like a mini-forest with old thick trees. I looked up and saw a tree house nestled high in the branches of the largest one.“What are we doing up there?” I asked as he helped me step onto the sturdy wooden ladder.“You’ll see. Careful, love.”“You guys are being so weird today,” I said, suspicious, but he just kissed me quickly on the lips in response.“Just wait until you see how weird I can get.”I watched him slide the key into the lock. His hands were slightly shaking. I expected a simple treehouse inside, but my lips parted in surprise as I looked around. Framed photos of Sebastian and me from college were hanging everywhere. “Why do you still have all these?”He had secretly kept all the corny love letters I gave him back then, even after I told him I liked guys who were more gentlemanly.“Where did you get these, Seb?” I asked, my voice cracking.“I went to St. Benilde the first time I returned
CHAPTER 59 I’m wet.” His fingers brushed over my pussy, making my mouth fall open. The thin fabric of my panties did nothing to block the heat of his hand. Pleasure rushed through my body when he pressed against my clit.“I know,” Sebastian’s voice was rough. His breathing was heavy too. “Wet for me.”“We’re in the office.”He exhaled hard before pulling his hand out from under my skirt. Then he grabbed the back of my neck and kissed me one more time, deep and fierce, before finally letting me go. Dazed with pleasure, I met his green eyes.“Let’s eat, Neshara Fil. Before I eat you for dinner. Your sweet juice is tempting.”More wetness slipped out of me. Face burning red, I turned away from him and headed to the bathroom. We stayed in my office for one more hour after eating. Sebastian helped me with my work. I learned a lot about the corporation, especially Rocc Pharma. Our conversation about the lab continued all the way home.“I met one of the interns by the way. Mira,” I said whi
CHAPTER 58Sebastian's growned and his rows furrowed. He looked ready to pick up his desktop and hurl it at whoever was at the door. A few seconds later, I heard the door close and hurried footsteps rushing away.I covered my face with both hands, dying from embarrassment. I wanted the floor to swallow me whole. “Who was that?” I whimpered like a child..Sebastian looked down at me. “It was Braun.”“Did he see us?”Sebastian wrinkled his nose and shook his head. “I’ll pull his eyes out if he did. No one should see you look ravishing.”“Shut up!”Sebastian chuckled and pulled me up. “You started it, Neshara Fil.”I dodged him quickly when he tried to sit me on his lap. God knows where that would lead. I pointed at the folders. "Sign those.""Sure." He tilted his head, a teasing grin still on his lips.I rolled my eyes at him, cheeks burning, and sat on the visitor’s chair. I watched him as he went through the documents one by one. He'd stare at me for a few seconds, then drop his eye
CHAPTER 35 Sevi was just a kid, but he was a smart one. I hated myself for yelling at Sebastian knowing our son could hear everything. The guilt ate me alive when Sevi told us he'd been listening. He could barely breathe between words, his little chest heaving while he tried to get the sentences o
CHAPTER 34 "I told you. You can't escape from me.""W-What do you want?" I cursed myself silently for stuttering."You."I pulled back because being close to him literally made me dizzy. My voice came out harder than I intended. "You mean my body?”"You and our son."I couldn't respond because Se
CHAPTER 33'You can't escape me.'I nearly cracked my phone screen the way I pressed the delete button on Sebastian's text. I blocked his number and powered off my phone. We were already at the bus station going to my parents’ hometown when Sevi fell asleep in my arms. I had no choice but to carry
CHAPTER 32 I gripped his shoulders and ground down, circling my hips. Pleasure ripped through both of us and our moans collided in the dark. "Oh, Seb. Ahh!"The slow rocking got faster. Every few strokes I'd grind down and twist my hips, and the added friction made both of us lose our minds."Nesh
