Marsai's POVI was so lost in my thoughts that I almost bumped into a little child. Correction, the child almost bumped into me, it seemed the little one was in a hurry to go somewhere. I wondered where she was running off until I turned and looked in the direction of where she had run.In the midst of a few onlookers sat a lanky old man, a big shawl wrapped around his shoulders and a piece of dried barley stem stuck between his lips. He was saying something, talking animatedly as he moved his hands and it seemed everyone was interested in what he was saying, so out of sheer curiosity and the fact that I was already intrigued, I decided to walk over there and listen. "He was the greatest Alpha to rule in the history of the Crescent origin. He was truly the son of his father." The man said. "Who was?" Asked a little boy who had just joined the little crowd. "Why, the late Alpha of course!" The man smiled, the few teeth in his mouth coming out in view. "Heavens bless hi
Marsai’s POV "Mr storyteller.." a little she-wolf called, "what do you mean by what you just said?" "Yes old man, explain." the crowd urged. I just stood there trying to understand if I had heard the unruly man correctly. The man seemed to enjoy all the attention he was getting, he shrugged his shoulders proudly as he continued, "Did you hear about the rumor of our new Alpha being a Guarana?" "What?" Someone gasped in shock. "I heard about it, but is it true?" Another asked. "It can't be.." "No way.." The pack members debated in murmurs. "That's a myth!" Someone voiced. I smiled to myself, that was exactly what I had thought. The Guarana had to be a myth..it wasn't real…well that was until the little incident with Fenrir. I also wondered where this old man must have heard what happened. Because It had happened inside the Alpha house. "You all must not have been informed then. I heard a palace guard telling someone that they had witnessed the
Marsai's POV We all turned to look at Rudolph, waiting for him to say something. To give his own opinion. He scanned all our faces, before leaning back on his chair with a deep sigh. "Elena," he called for her to raise both eyebrows at him in response."Leah, will the both of you please excuse us? I'd like to have a word with Marsai—alone" I looked up at Rudolph to my friends and back. He would like to talk with me, alone? Why? "I don't understand," Elena voiced, "what is so…so important that you cannot say in front of us?" She argued, arms crossed in her chest, "I mean, we are all aware of what is going on here" Rudolph sighed, a deep frown on his face. "Elena, don't start with me." "But—" "Elena!" Rudolph snapped, the frown deepening. "Come on, let's go.." Leah said, grabbing Elena's arm and dragging her out of the room. Elena looked at me with a sad and slightly annoyed frown. "Marsai…" I just shook my head and signaled for her to liste
Fenrir’s POV Elena and Leah were the first to appear after I had growled my entrance into the house. I had used the front door after I leaped over the gate, flinging it open and scaring the old butler that stood there, half to death. I grinned inwardly as I saw deep fear in their eyes when they both looked at me, shivering visibly. I certainly looked much more terrifying than before and I knew it. I could feel it. Elena screamed first. Loud and pitchy as her body visibly shook as she held onto the skirt of her bulky dress, and the arm of her other sister who was letting short screams out of her mouth as if she was going to faint at any moment. The servants started to arrive, rushing into the scene and probably wondering why their mistresses were screaming. The first servant that saw me was a young girl, her pale brown eyes opening in shock as she let out an ear-piercing scream, and fell to the ground trying to crawl backward, that's how everyone else started coming. Screaming
Marsai's POV I took another step forward, my heart thumping wildly in my chest. I tried as hard as I could not to shake or show any form of fear if I was to prove anything to Rudolph. Fenrir had never looked as terrifying as he did right now. He looked as dreadful as he was powerful, but I bit my bottom lips and took another step forward. I needed to do this, to not only prove a point to everyone else but to myself. Can I by any chance calm Fenrir's anger? He looked like he was about to rip someone's head off right now. It was scary I had to admit, with bloodshot eyes, growling canines… I wonder if I could calm him like the she-wolf calmed her guarana prince in the legend the storyteller was telling?I mean since it was obvious that Fenrir was the Guarana and since I was his mate, is it possible that I could have the ability to calm him down? To cool his anger? I took another step and soon enough I was standing right in front of him. His silver eyes sparkled with red glints as
Fenrir's POV I continued to kneel to submit at the foot of the bed, my knees turning sensitive from coming in full contact with the cold floor, not that I even noticed or cared. I didn't know what to do, or what to even say at that moment, a lot of confusing things went through my head. I just stayed there, locking gazes with the hazel-eyed goddess in my bed. Ahh, Marsai… If only she knew exactly the main thing that was going through my mind right now if only she knew how much I wanted to express my happiness right now.Deep happiness, that I'm not quite sure words can explain well enough. Great heavens above! The relief, the joy, the satisfaction of knowing that I, Fenrir Amarok, was her mate. Marsai's mate, and that she had confirmed it in front of all those naysayers that she called friends. Marsai was mine, she knew it and even the heavens knew it. She was mine since the beginning of time, she was my mate and my wife and the heavens knew how much I wanted to screa
Fenrir POV I watched in deep and obvious surprise as Marsai stood up from the bed, slowly crawling down its sheets till she was standing in front of me, giving me her hand. I…I didn't know what to say, I was shocked but I took her hand and she helped me stand up. She was looking deep into my eyes, her large hazel orbs sparkling beneath her full lashes. I don't know if she was aware but her hands, her soft and smooth hand was still in mine, and believe it or not, she was the one holding me! It was when I saw her edge her face closer to me that I realized I had been holding my breath, my heart was pounding hard and slow as I waited patiently this time, for what she was going to do next. All of a sudden, Marsai's little nose wiggled as she started sniffing me! Yeah, she was sniffing me, my face, my neck, her nose touching my skin and the most adorably intriguing part of it was the way her face looked as she did it. She looked so serious! I didn't want to interrupt this c
MarsaiI have been awake for most of the night.I heard and felt Fenrir breath. His amazing smell still covered my body, filling my head with every breath I took. I still couldn't believe we had done it. I couldn't bring myself to admit it. I refused to. It wasn't me but my mind was my very own enemy. Though there was absolute silence in the room, my mind was playing the wildest tricks on me. It keeps reminding me of my gasps, my unhinged moans, my unsolicited cries, and most unskinning of them all..my desperate pleas. That I couldn't shove away. It recreated loudly in my mind, making me stir in the silk white sheets aggressively. I sniffed the second headrest beside me, his dull scent still hovering around it. It blended with the sheets, tingling my skin and memory.I felt like I betrayed myself, what will everyone think of me? My mind did its thing again, cooking up the most disappointed looks on my friends. I quickly shot my eyes to shake it all out of my head. It must have bee
