Chapter 26: An urgent call

The morning shuddered through the sheer curtains, entering from the patio slider and knocking at Savannah’s peer. Her heavy, lush lashes struggled to open, but her senses were activated once adjusted by the morning light and a voice coming from the other side of the door.

“Coming,” she forced herself out of bed, making her way towards the door.

“Are you ok? Don’t you have lectures to attend?” Jenny jeered, looking at her exhausted features, reading the situation’s urgency.

“I am leaving,” Jenny patted her shoulder, leaving Savannah to head back to her bed. The door latched, and the silence crippled, letting Savannah feel why she was feeling so exhausted.
