Chapter 46

Caleb’s POV

Ella was sitting on the couch when I walked in and I bypassed her and headed to my room to grab myself a pair of pants to throw on. I didn’t think she would appreciate my nudity in front of her now being mated to another. The thought burns me to the soul but I must let it go because I know it was a hard choice for her to have to make. Returning to the living area I went to the kitchen and poured myself a bourbon and Ella a glass of her favorite wine. Ella was still on the couch curled into a blanket staring at the fireplace in a blank stare.

As I entered the living room area, I clear my throat and say, “Can we talk?” And extended my hand to her holding the glass of wine I poured for her.

Ella looked up at me as she freed her arm from under the blanket and reached for the glass of wine. Instantly she brought the glass of wine to her lips and took a long sip. “Yes. I think we need to talk.” Ella finally said now holding the wine close to her chest.
