I almost couldn't see where I was going I was having that much fun. My paws slide though snow silently, my breaths leaving me in fast pants. Mikki's yaps happily, her tail high as she dashes though the snow. It was hard following her because she was white, invisible in the frosty world. Mikki turns sharply and I see the rabbit flying off to the left. We tear after it again, full of unused energy and excitement.
I duck under a tree branch before skidding around a tree. Mikki's ear flickers to me and back as we run, snow flying up behind us.The rabbit darts left again but then turns right, as if it couldn't make up its mind in which direction to go. I jump forward to grab the rabbit my paws sink into soft snow as the rabbit scurries away from me.As second later I hear a squeal and turn my head to see Mikki's paws on the rabbit. It was dusted a light grey, its face white as its eyes were wide as it squirmed under Mikki's paws. Mikki yaps and looks downI curl into a ball on the bed, sighing as I sank onto the comfortable matrass. I pull my blankets to my neck in one quick, covering myself in there embrace. I was nearly asleep when the door swings open silently and light floods into the room. Groaning I push my face into the pillow, annoyed with whoever had opened the door.I open my mouth to tell the person off but door clicks closed and darkness falls over the room again. Removing my head from the blankets I settle back down, ready for the darkness to take me but I startle as the bed bounces. "What the hell?!" I hiss towards whoever had sat down on the edge of my bed.The blankets lifted up causing cool air to assault my legs. I let out a hiss of annoyance as my stomach clenches and my skin prickles. I claw for the blankets as the bed sways and shifts under me. The blanket falls onto me again and a second later is accompanied by someone's arms. "What are you doing?" I snap, feeling Ash's breath on my face

"Get up!" Mikki shouts throwing open door. I jump slightly but otherwise don't move-but that might have been because Ah's arm was pinning me down. I was surprised to find him still dead to the world- boy can he sleep. "Oh...... my bad," Mikki grins and closes the door slowly.Carefully I roll over til I could catch a glimpse of the alarm o'clock which informed me it was nearly 12. "Ugh, two more hours...." I mutter rolling back over til I was nestled into Ash chest again. He makes a sound between a grunt and a moan before rolling onto his side and slinging his arm across my body. I groan as Ash squeezes my waist tightly and a second later releases me enough so I could breathe. "That wasn't nice," I huff softly but rest my forehead against his chest anyway."Wasn't it?" he says pushing my head back so I could see his playful, lazy grin. "Then I better improve my game. Maybe starting with....this" he pushes his lips onto mine gently, seizing me senseless. He ki
"I'm hungry" I complain as I walk into the kitchen. Mikki cocks her head and me, her eyes tied."Your one to talk" she sighs."What are you talking about?" I ask wondering over the toaster to put some bread in when Carson suddenly hits my hand."I'm making porridge. And you're going to eat it, sit down" she tisks like I was a naughty kid. I turn around and slump into the chair beside Mikki."I didn't eat last night" she replies as she folds her arms onto the table and rests her head on them."Why didn't you eat?" I ask. Casually casting a glance towards Ember, who sat at the dining table, made me feel sad. Ally was paying no attention to her, and Ally was the type of person to talk to everyone. Guilt coils inside me and I look away. I saw the reason everyone was avoiding her. I should have kept my stupid mouth shut."Are you listening?" Mikki waves a hand in my face, her voice brisk."Yeah, I am now."Mikki stares at
I fade into the forest, welcoming the shadows as they consoled me. Scents washed over me, first the animals that were close, trees and dirt then something different. I pause where I stood, one paw raised as I smell the air."Shana!" The shout startles me into nearly dropping to the ground. Recognizing the voice I follow it, winding my way through the trees slowly, and my heart in my ears and my breathing uneven. "Shana! Came here, girl!" called another voice.I spot my dad as I creep between the bushes. His hands cupped his mouth as he shouted out the family dog's name. A few feet away was Max, his hand identical to my fathers as he shouted out Shana's name. My dad whistles loudly, causing my ears to flatten at the high frequency.I hear Shana before I saw her. Her paws made soft thuds over the ground and a second later she squeezed out from a bush and greeted my dad by barrelling him over, her yaps of a greeting making him laugh. They feel into the sn
"Are feeling okay?" I ask Ember worriedly. She was leaning her shoulder against the wall and a faint look of queasiness had washed her face out. She turned her tanned face towards me, her eyes vulnerable."Fine" she says calmly as Sky pads down the hall. One he's out of ear shot she shakes her head. "I feel sick" she says softly and guides herself along the wall towards her bedroom door."Are you going to be sick...?" I ask sheepishly.Ember wags her head, a weak smile on her face. "No...I just...need to sleep"Glancing down the hallway I find we were the only one's upstairs. "Is it the....you know...." I suggest quietly, not really wanting to ask if it was from her being pregnant. People in this house had the hearing of wolves- literally. Some mornings I could hear Carson and Bray talking in bed and knew that if I tried hard enough I would know what they said, word for word.Ember shrugs and pushes open her bedroom door. "Might be" she s
I was still in Ash's room when I woke up, he was still beside me breathing softly as he slept. The room was dark and my cheeks were sticky from tears but I pulled myself of Ash carefully and padded over to the door. I glance back to make sure he was still sleeping before heading down stairs. It was just past midnight but that didn't stop me from wondering into the kitchen. The table was empty from all the plates which had disappeared-most likely to the dishwasher- and the chairs were all tucked under the table. There was no evidence from my outburst.I change my mind of the evidence thing when I walk over to the table. In the edge of the table was a pair of scratches from my claws. I run my finger over the grooves and look around for the shattered plate but don't find one.The chair creeks slightly as I sit down heavily. I was surprised to find everything clean and neat. I thought everyone would have left everything out for Carson to clean up in the mo
I don't know what I expected. Screams? But instead the screaming was growls, and the house became a riot of lights and sound. Lights burned through curtains, feet pounded on the floor as people moved to see what was happening.I stood, frozen in the cold air outside. Images flashed in front of my eyes, of half people half wolves barrelling down the stairs. The image wasn't to warn me, I know, but it didn't stop me from flinching like I was going to feel the impact as the wolf jumped over the stairs and onto the waiting wolves below. The world shifted back to normal just in time for me to see the front door bang on its hinges. I turn to Mikki, wanting to ask her what we should do by her hazel eyes were fixed on the house were wolf shadows danced over the walls and the sound of wolves fighting was emitted.Part of me wanted to join in, to fight with the pack, but the other half wanted flight, to flee from the conflict and destruction.Sadly, neith
