Eve’s POV

Malik just stared at me, his chest rising and falling heavily, eyes tracking every shift of light across my silver fur as though he were seeing the moon itself breathing in front of him. His wolf hovered behind his gaze. We had left Astrid’s unconscious body at the forest, through all of it, Malik’s attention was fixed entirely on me.

“Eve?” he whispered. “I…goddess, I don’t even know what to say.”

I shifted back before he could finish. The world folded inward, pulling my wolf beneath my skin. The fur receded, the markings dimmed but didn’t disappear, they lingered like faint moonlit tattoos across my shoulders, my ribs and my hips. I stood barefoot in the moss, breath shaky, body warm from the remnants of power.

Malik took a step toward me then he stopped before talking slow step forward again.

His hands hovered near my arms but didn’t settle. His voice broke slightly when he whispered, “Moon-born.”

I blinked. “What?”

“That’s what you looked like,” he murmured. “Like the

Eve’s POVThe hall had never been this full, no one saw this coming! I’m talking about me, I never saw this coming! Blackthorn and Hartmann in the same space. Wolves muttered under their breaths, their shoulders and jaw tight. Hartmann warriors stood fixed while Blackthorn’s wolves stood opposite them, alert and ready, obviously exhausted from the weeks of fighting and surviving whatever spell the Hartmann’s had placed on us.This should have felt like progress, some type of deep breath even, but instead it felt like they had just ignited another fireI was beside Malik, our shoulders touching, he offered me a warm smile with a grounding nod. Dorian stayed at the center of the room, stiff and unreadable. Astrid…well she was somewhere at the far end of the room, her arms folded, she didn’t look like she wanted to be here and honestly? I was with her on that. Now this was the dramatic part! Morwenna didn’t make it to the meeting but she sent a raven marked with the first letter of her

  • Moonlight Knows My Name    Chapter Ninety-Seven

Eve’s POVThe wind, usually gentle and playful through the treetops, carried a harsh wave that made me shiver. I felt it before I saw it, the ripple in the air that told me the curse was waking again. The ground under my feet was softer than usual. Leaves withered at the edges, their green fading to sickly brown, curling under the weight of something unseen. Birds didn’t sing, wolves didn’t howl, i could tell they all feared me or that was just how I felt “Malik,” I whispered, my voice barely more than a breath, “They’re coming,” I murmured, my voice trembling. “Something… something’s coming, and it’s feeding off everything.”Malik’s grip tightened. “I can feel it. Report says wolves are going missing. And it’s spreading, Eve.”I opened my eyes, scanning our surrounding. Even the town nearby wasn’t untouched. Lights flickered strangely through the streets, The humans are as oblivious as ever, the curse didnt care any way.” I could hear it, a low, vibrating sound that made my teeth

  • Moonlight Knows My Name    Chapter Ninety-Six

Eve’s POV Malik found me before I had the courage to go searching for him, i was sitting outside by my room , staring at the trees while trying to reduce the rapid rythym of my pulse. It all felt too loud and I was tired, tired of never knowing, of always being caught unawares, taken by surprise even by what was supposed to be my life The wooden door creaked softly behind me.“Eve?”I turn around slowly to see Malik leaning against the doorway his arms crossed, chest rising and falling in a steady rhythm I instantly held on to. His hair is disheveled, like he ran fingers through it too many times in few seconds. His eyes scan me with worry that tightens something deep inside my chest.“You disappeared again,” he says quietly. “I almost tore the whole place apart looking for you.”Guilt tugged at my ribs. “I needed air.”“You don’t have to vanish alone into the dark.” He disappeared. “I’m here, you can breath here.”I swallow hard, my throat suddenly tight. “That’s exactly why I calle

  • Moonlight Knows My Name    Chapter Ninety-Five

Eve’s POV I sat on the old wooden bench behind the infirmary, the one no one ever uses for reasons known to them. But maybe that’s why I chose it, no one will come looking for me here, nobody will get to see the way my hands won’t stop trembling .The moon hung low, swollen and bright it almost looked like he was accusing me. I put my knees tight to my chest instead at the moon, hoping she would offer me some kind of answer but in truth she never did all she did was watch like she was waitingfor me to understand something I didn’t even have the words for. My chest tightened . Ever is a transformation ever since the wolf inside me toy with the rage I didn’t know. I had me my thoughts have become a little louder. My breathing now sounds like someone else too heavy to belong to the girl who used to serve coffee and pray she wouldn’t trip on that weight of the expectation she had now set for herself Now I’m the girl with the silver glowing eyes with markings older than the pack itself

  • Moonlight Knows My Name    Chapter Ninety-Four

Astrid’s POV Ever since they shoved me inside and locked the door, the walls have been pressing, breathing and contracting when I breath. I can still see her face.I curl my knees against my chest and press my palms over my eyes, but it doesn’t matter. The memory now lives in my body now. Her skin glowing.I laid there like a coward.A sob clawed its way up, but I swallow it back. I’ve cried enough to fill a basin, they think I’m hysterical, they think I’m dangerous, that I’m making up stories.“She bears the mark!” I had yelled as they dragged me toward this place. “Eve bears the mark, don’t you understand what that means?”Well, apparently they did not. Because instead of following me back into the forest, instead of searching for Eve or Malik, instead of listening to their Luna, they locked me in here “for my own safety.”Cowards that’s what they all are.Footsteps creak on the old stairway. My head snapped up. “Please,” I whisper before I could stop myself, scrambling forward.

  • Moonlight Knows My Name    Chapter Ninety-Three

Dorian’s POVI had not heard from the duo since they left, as I went farther into the forest, I noticed the strange air in it, I would know, after all this was the same forest I had walked all my life, here I had haunted with father, sparring with Malik until we couldn’t feel our hands no more, it was here I saw Eve for the for at time. No, dont go there, Dorian. Anyway, I knew this place too well to notice the change in it, I began to worry for Malik and Eve “Malik!” I called into the forest. My voice rang against the trees and died without a response. No birds nor wind, not even the usual rustle of creatures. It was just my voice and the dread I felt. I tightened my grip on the blade strapped to my hip. Malik and Eve had been gone for far to long to call it a simple mission. When they didn’t reach on, I waited for an hour at least and then another, I knew Malik and he was everything but a careless person, and Eve herself was fragile, so if they weren’t back, then it simply mea
