AMELIA

“What the hell is going on here?” A loud voice echoed down the hall as Alpha Hector and Nicole stepped in. Nicole rushed to Zayn's side, checking his body for any sign of injury as she looked at him with a worried look, but her show of affection did not please Zayn.

“Are you okay, my love? I was starting to get worried when you didn’t come back to the dining,” she said in a worried tone reaching out to touch Zayn’s face.

Zayn’s eyes flared up as her hands touched his face, but he allowed it.

Of course, he would. He hated his mate so much that he would choose to be with any woman but me.

I managed to get up on my feet. Now that I had my wolf, my body seemed less prone to pain. I bowed my head to Alpha Hector, my eyes staring at my feet.

It was a rule that once you were standing before the Alpha or his son, you should never look him in the eyes. Looking at him in the eyes for too long meant you were being defiant, but that didn’t stop me from peering through my lashes.

“Cover
