ZEPHYR'S POV

The door to my room slammed against the wall as I kicked it open, I used my foot to close it.

I placed her down. Her breathing matched mine, uneven. She took a step back and looked up at me, her lower lip between her teeth.

I moved closer and she moved back. I quirked a brow and moved closer. She looked up at me as fingers curled into my shirt.

I shouldn't want her like this.

Not when her eyes shimmered with hesitancy. Her fingers trembled as she gripped my shirt as if afraid I would disappear if she let go.

But she was mine and I was hers.

The bond pulsed beneath my skin, every instinct screaming for me to claim her, to mark her, to brand her with my scent and touch. But I didn't, I waited. Barely holding myself back.

I caressed her hair. “I won't touch you unless you want me to.”

“Are you…”

She stretched up her toes and pressed her trembling lips on mine. “I..I want you. I really do,” she whispered, she let out a shaky breath. “I.. I'm just

  • Morrigan And The Alpha Of The Vile    CHAPTER FORTY FOUR: REVENGE

ZEPHYR'S POV “Is it okay for us to do that?” Ronan asked. “What do you mean by that?” Rick asked, crossing his arms. “They attacked us first, if we don't retaliate other packs that are eying our territory will think that they can attack us anytime they want.” Ronan glared at him before facing me. “Alpha, if we attack the Nightbane pack….if we strike them with the same cruelty they did…then what separates us from them?” “They killed our people. So many of our people died. Lovers, friends, family, even children…… little pups. They all died, killed because of Malakai, so how can we not take revenge.” Rick clenched his fists. “Revenge? By killing people just like what they did, wouldn't that make us monsters just like them.” Ronan said, running a hand through his hair. “Monsters,” he scoffed. “Stop pretending like you're better than us, you're the worst of us. You have killed young pups before so stop acting like a good person….you're not.” Ronan clenched his jaw and fists. “Shu

  • Morrigan And The Alpha Of The Vile    CHAPTER FORTY THREE: A MOMENT LIKE THIS

MORRIGAN'S POV The past few weeks had been chaotic, but right now, it was just us. Zephyr and I sat under a blanket of stars, our backs resting against a tree, a fire crackling a few steps from us and the river flowed quietly. My head lay silently on his shoulder, his hand made slow circles on my back. I let out a low giggle. He tilted his head towards me with a smile on his lips. “What's funny?” He asked. “I've just realized that this is the first time we have ever sat down under the stars together. Without worrying about anything, or having anything hanging over us.” He let out a soft laugh and pulled me closer. “Mmh of course. Our love and bond is stronger than anything.” I looked up at him, our noses brushing. “Yes it is.” And slowly without urgency, he leaned down towards me and kissed me. A tender kiss, sweet, unhurried. The kind that lingered. We slowly pulled apart and our foreheads pressed against each other. “I like this version of us. Happy. Smiley

  • Morrigan And The Alpha Of The Vile    CHAPTER FORTY TWO: Guilt, Grief, Passion

ZEPHYR'S POV I had given the command. Me. Morrigan knelt in between my legs trying to comfort me but that just made me feel even worse. I didn't care, I didn't, I really didn't. So why? Why did I feel like a terrible person? Why did I feel sad? “It's ok. I've got you.” Morrigan wrapped her arms around me and placed a kiss on my forehead. That triggered something in me, I bit my lip trying to swallow the sound building up in my chest. A sound I hadn't made since I was a boy. Not when I got injured or when Celeste was mated to someone else. Not even when my parents died. My eyes filled with tears. I clenched my jaw so hard it hurt but the tears still came. I didn't want Morrigan to see me like this, but she was here. I couldn't push her away. I tightly wrapped my arms around her as the tears fell. Why? Why would Celeste do this? Love? She said she loved me, so how could she hurt my people, the people I cared so much about. All those years sleeping with her, was it what g

  • Morrigan And The Alpha Of The Vile    CHAPTER FORTY ONE: THE END OF A TRAITOR

MORRIGAN'S POV My feet pounded against the ground as I ran, breath ragged and my heart thundered louder with every step I took. He stood in the center a stone cold look on his face. “Zephyr, don't do this. Reconsider.” I pleaded desperately. “She plotted with the enemy, she let the enemy in my territory. I lost my people because of her.” His cold words echoed around. “But she…” he cut me off before I could finish my sentence. “She got her own mate killed, their bond couldn't stop her, do you think she won't do it again. Showing mercy to her is betraying all the wolves that died that night and the ones that survived but lost their families, friends and lovers.” He growled. I didn't want him to kill her, yeah she had done bad things but killing her would stain him. He wasn't a monster who killed people for no reason at all. But he has a reason. She caused so many deaths, she hurt his people and he was doing this not as Zephyr but as the alpha of this pack. “Why not just exil

  • Morrigan And The Alpha Of The Vile    CHAPTER FORTY: EXECUTION

CELESTE'S POV I fell on the ground, my lungs burning but it was nothing compared to the ache in my chest. The pressure on my throat was gone but the imprint of his fingers stayed. I slowly looked up at him, his cold unreadable eyes were on me. I had given everything to this man, every laugh, smile, dream and everything was all crushed in his grasp. His expression was unreadable, no regret, nothing just nothing at all. And that broke me. Not the pain I felt or the air struggling to return to my lungs, but the fact that he would never love me again. Never again. The memory hit me hard, uninvited and unstoppable. Zephyr and I lay underneath the stars, his arms wrapped around me so tightly as if letting go would make the world disappear. His voice was quiet and filled with warmth. “I will love you forever,” he'd whispered in my hair. “You're my everything and I will always find my way back to you.” I had believed him, every single word he said I had swallowed up. Now with
