Morrigan's POV

“Are you okay?” Kierra asked, watching me closely.

I slightly nodded my head. Ever since I woke up my ears had been buzzing and I didn't know why.

Today was the day we were going to bury the deceased pack members. So many had died, my heart squeezed painfully. I should have helped earlier, if I had there wouldn't be so many casualties.

I let out a loud sigh and straightened out my clothes. Kierra gave me a small smile, her eyes were filled with sorrow. How could she not be sorrowful, the people she knew had lost their lives, their homes had been destroyed like it was nothing.

“Let's go.” She said her eyes were swollen, probably from crying. We walked side by side following behind the group of people.

We stopped in a grassy area. The air was heavy with sorrow. The cries were so raw, they stabbed at my heart. Kierra was silently sobbing beside me.

I knew the pain of losing people you loved, it felt like you were drowning with no way to escape. Just sinking to

  • Morrigan And The Alpha Of The Vile    CHAPTER FIFTY TWO: LOVE

ZEPHYR'S POV Her eyes held no warmth, no recognition. Just darkness, cold and endless. My heart thundered in my chest, hard. “Sweetheart, it's me.” I choked out. Her hands tightened against my throat. “Non amplius, dulcis. Nunc una ex nobis est.” She hissed, but the voice wasn't hers. It was like a hundred people speaking out of her mouth. (No more sweetheart. She is one of us now.) I didn't understand what she was saying. My head was getting fuzzy and my eyes blurry. Why was this happening? “Morrigan.” I wanted to yell but it came out as a strangled whisper. “No more Morrigan.” She growled. I used all my power and pushed her off of me. I rolled onto my side in a coughing fit. I scrambled onto my feet, she stood across from me with a grin on her face. Not her usual happy grin but a creepy one. My heart dropped. “The curse.” I whispered. Was it really the curse? No. The grin on her face disappeared and she fell on her knees, fingers clawing at her head. A horrific

  • Morrigan And The Alpha Of The Vile    CHAPTER FIFTY ONE: NOT MY MOTHER

ZEPHYR'S POV The soft light from the sun lit up the room. Birds softly chirped outside. The pack homes were still quiet except for the gentle creak of movement here and there. I stretched and reached out for Morrigan, but she didn't stir like she always does. Instead she laid there with her eyes closed, her hand on her forehead and her eyebrows drawn. “Are you okay?” I asked sitting up. She lightly shook her head, her eyes still closed. “I don't feel too good.” She said, her voice shaky and weak. “What's wrong?” I asked my concern rising. “Fever? Nausea?” “No….no. Just tired, heavy. Terrible headache and everything is spinning.” She whispered. I gently brushed her hair away from her forehead and pressed a gentle kiss on it. “Alright. Get some rest, I will watch the kids.” She groaned in protest but I gently brushed her hair. “It's ok. I've got them, please just get some rest….please.” She nodded gently, I smiled and placed a light kiss on her lips. I slipped out of bed

  • Morrigan And The Alpha Of The Vile    CHAPTER FIFTY: THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM

MORRIGAN'S POV Laughter echoed through the garden. The blue was a gentle blue, the wind blew softly rustling the leaves and flowers in the garden. Kierra and I sat on a blanket under one of the many trees in our garden. Lucian, Freya and Endymion, Kierra's son, ran around the garden. “I swear they were just wobbling around just yesterday,” Kierra ran her fingers through her hair, a smile on her face. “Now look at them running around.” “Mommy,” Endymion screeched, tears filling up her eyes as she pointed a finger at Freya who stood a few steps from him. “She bit me.” Freya gasped, violently shaking her head. “Did not,” she looked at her brother who abruptly turned away. “Lucy tell them.” “I didn't see anything,” he huffed. He didn't like the nickname his sister had given him. “And stop calling me Lucy.” “Mommy I didn't do it.” She pouted. “Did too,” Endymion sniffled. “You are a bully and I do not want to play with you anymore.” “Freya, apologize to Endy right now.” I s

  • Morrigan And The Alpha Of The Vile    CHAPTER FORTY NINE:DOUBLE BLESSING

ZEPHYR'S POV I paced. Back and forth. Again and again and again. I couldn't stop pacing, everytime her scream pierced through the wooden door my heart squeezed painfully. “Zephyr you're going to leave a hole in the floor. Stop pacing up and down, she is going to be fine.” Ronan assured. “You know how strong she is.” His words didn't do anything to make me feel better. I knew she was strong, she really is but strength didn't mean she wasn't in pain. It didn't mean she or our child were safe. The thought of losing her wo….. No. I clenched my jaw and hands. My nails digging into the palm of my hand. I ran my fingers through my hair and gripped the hair at the back of my head with my eyes closed. “Please. Goddess please keep them safe.” I whispered. Another scream tore through the wall. Her voice was laced in so much pain. I wanted to rush in there and hold her hand. I couldn't bear to lose her. Not now, not after all we had been through and what we had survived. This was

  • Morrigan And The Alpha Of The Vile    CHAPTER FORTY EIGHT: SMILES AND SCREAMS

MORRIGAN'S POV I didn't think I was going to cry. But the moment I saw the tiny baby cradled in Kierra's arms, tears welled up. The room was warm and filled with many different scents but all I could focus on were the sounds made by the tiny baby. It was so tiny, so fragile, so real. “He's so, so perfect.” I said, voice barely audible. I moved closer, unable to look away. “Do you want to hold him?” Kierra asked, a smile etched on her face. She looked so pale and exhausted. I gulped. “Can I?” She nodded and gently passed the baby to me. It was so small, fragile and very light. I silently watched the tiny baby, his chest moving up and down. My heart squeezed and a smile grew on my face. I lightly tapped the baby's cheek with a single finger and his mouth opened in a sleepy yawn. My heart melted. “Oh goddess,” I blinked at Kierra. “I can't believe he was inside you and now he's here. In my arms.” “You're next.” She gave a tired chuckle. I looked down at my own swollen b

  • Morrigan And The Alpha Of The Vile    CHAPTER FORTY SEVEN: GIFT OF THE MOON

MORRIGAN'S POV “What did you say?” I whispered. I stared at the healer. Maybe I had misheard him, I might be hearing things. A smile graced his face, excitement filling his eyes. “You're with child.” My hand instinctively fell to my stomach. “B..but how?” I whispered, then let out a breathy laugh at my own question. I covered my mouth in stunned disbelief. So many emotions hit me at once, uncertainty, shock and happiness that felt too fragile to hold on to. My heart thundered as the truth sipped into my bones. This was real. I was really pregnant. “I'm pregnant.” I said. The words felt strange on my tongue, yet my chest felt warm. A small smile grew on my face. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. But I knew that I couldn't wait to tell Zephyr. ____________________________________ I found him alone at the training grounds. His shirt clung to his back, hair being tousled by the wind. I paused my hand over my stomach with a small smile on my face. My heart trembled
