Leah didn't get a good night's sleep over the night. She was worried about what Louis would think when he regained consciousness and discovered he was married.
Will he accept the marriage and understand that they had no option at that point than to get him married and save his company.
Sitting by Louis' bedside, Leah held his hand as a lone tear fell off her eyes. She sniffled. Who would believe that her son, the rich young millionaire in Oak city, has been reduced this pale thin fellow on the bed before her?
"Louis I don't know if you can hear me or not, but I want you to know that whatever decision your father and I made on your behalf…." Leah trailed off.
She couldn't control her emotions. She felt her voice choking and she sobbed quietly. She took a deep breath and then continued "...yeah whatever decision we made, was taken only for your interest and good. You know how much we love you and our world revolves around you, alone.
Wake up soon, son. I am losing it. I don't think I can hold on longer than I have already. Today is your wedding to the eldest daughter of the Grayson's family.
I hope you wake up soon and carry out the responsibility of a husband to her and get us a grandchild…"
Leah Hayden came downstairs and instructed the servants that the master bedroom be put in order, the bride would arrive that day.
They should equally realise that the madam of the house would be arriving and she should be accorded the respect she deserves.
The servants bowed their heads and nodded in unison. Leah Hayden, having given instructions, whispered into Louis Hayden's assistant ears, before she left.
The servants exchanged glances. Get the master bedroom ready, for who? Isn't Mr Hayden in a coma and from every information they heard so far, he might remain in that condition for the rest of his life.
Even life support couldn't help him. Otherwise, he would have been out of coma for a long time now.
Pamela sat before the vanity mirror as she was being dressed. She's never seen a bridal dressed in such an expensive and exquisite wedding dress like the one she has on.
Her long beautiful wedding dress was decorated with diamond stones all over it. She wasn't told nor was she interested in asking, but she knew the wedding dress would be the best and most expensive one in Oak city.
No matter how classical, expensive and impressive the wedding dress is, it meant nothing to her. She was wearing it because she was compelled to wear it.
If the wedding was born out of love and happiness, she would cherish every minute she had the dress on her body, but then she was being sent away like a dumb lamp who has no say about itself.
Her supposed husband is lying in a coma and she was dressed so elaborately just to be referred to as his wife.
"...so gorgeous, you are the bride of the year and the most beautiful bride I have ever seen"Freya declared, walking over and planting a featherlight kiss on Pamela's chin.
The latter almost froze. She had never heard her mother say something so amazing about her before. She's definitely pretending before the servants and make-up artist, Mrs Leah Hayden sent to get her ready.
They must be impressed that her mother is such a sweet woman. Only she can tell what strings, threats and fury she put up just to get her to accept to be married to Louis Hayden.
"Everyone is ready downstairs. They all are waiting for the bride.."Freya announced.
"Sure ma'am, we are almost done," the make-up artist replied, taking another look at her eye lashes and lipstick through the mirror.
The veil was fastened with a pin on Pamela's hair and made to cascade, covering her face.
Everyone was smiling except the bride. She was looking expressionless. She felt she was being sold off and she couldn't do anything about it.
Freya, satisfied with Pamela's calmness, smiled evilly and walked out. She was happy things are going well to this point. She only hopes Pamela gets through to the end calmly.
Pamela stood up and the wedding dress came into full glare. It was glittering and the diamond stones seemed to be glowing.
Some of the servants were taking pictures while Pamela remained expressionless. Thank goodness the veil was there to hide her teary eyes.
A chief bride's maid was behind, helping her hold the overflowing Wedding dress. As Pamela stepped out of her room, she met Emma Midway, coming to her room.
The scene of the previous day played in her memory within a few seconds and the pain seemed to come afresh, almost overwhelming her.
She knew Emma doesn't care about her, not a bit. But she never would have believed that she would condescend so low as to have an affair with her supposed fiance.
"Hi sis, congratulations on your wedding" Emma chimed, coming over and hugging Pamela. The latter neither reply nor hugged her back, she stood like a statue.
Emma frowned and leaned towards her, whispering in her ears "you have no idea how much of a relief your wedding is to me. Now, you are out of my way and I can do whatever I want openly without considering your feelings.
Though, it was not that I cared about your feelings, I'm just trying to be a sister. But wait, did you tell your dear Lucas you are getting married to someone else?
Did you leave him because he was too poor to afford such an expensive wedding dress for you? You left him and went after someone who is wealthy and can give you a name and wealth in the society…"Emma was taunting her and at the same time, smiling.
Those around were smiling as well. How loving these sisters are. Pamela must have been so lucky to have such people as her family. They love her immensely.
Pamela gnashed her teeth. She dares to tell her that she left Lucas and went after another man simply because Lucas was not as rich as her husband to be?
She had always known that Emma was mischievous but didn't know she was callous as well. Pamela palm formed a fist and she was shaking furiously.
But she wouldn't say anything. Emma must have thought she didn't know anything about her affairs with Lucas and as such, wants to make her the victim and accuse her.
Emma saw Pamela's action and how tensed she had become, she smiled more broadly. And holding Pamela's hand she signalled to the servants behind her to spare her few more minutes.
They did and moved backwards a little. Emma smiled and turned to Pamela "how are you going to cope now, marrying a man who is in a coma? What's your wedding night going to look like?.." Emma tainted her more and laughed provocatively.
Pamela was not ready for another taunting, hence she walked past Emma, towards the stairs. She didn't want to say anything to anyone that morning and if she stayed longer, listening to Emma's taunting, she might be forced to do otherwise.
When Freddie Grayson saw Pamela, his heart flooded with guilt. He wished she would understand that he had always been there for her.
He had to agree to this union to set Pamela free. He can't stand it anymore to see her go through so much discomfort and hatred from Freya and Emma.
He doesn't have much time left. The least he can do for her now, is to set her free from this cage she called a family.
He didn't look at Pamela's face, of course he couldn't. He can't see her pain anymore. He had seen enough of it and now, it has to be the last pain, though the most excruciating one she would get from Freya. From the day Pamela got into that family, she had experienced different levels of abuse, bullying and irritation from her mother. But everything was going to end. That is the least he could do for her. It has to end. The union might not be a convenient one nor what she wanted, but he wants her to get into it and leave. The one she loved and wanted to be with doesn't deserve her. Rather than let her heart shatter in pieces when she discovers Lucas' true colours, she should rather take a walk, first. Pamela stood before her father, she wants to know why he also treated her this way but her father wouldn't look at her. He looked away and she understood it, that he was avoiding her gaze. That's enough for her to know that he was guilty of what he did, of being a part of
Her heart was pounding fast as she saw the thin pale body of Louis Hayden lying on the bed. The room would almost be described as a hospital ward. Different equipment installed in the room and all connected into Louis Hayden's body. She looked from the helpless man on the bed to the different equipment in the room. She knew then that his family hadn't lost hope on him yet. They believe he will be fine. They had kept their hopes alive and looked forward to seeing their son come alive again. He was on life support. It doesn't look like he was breathing and for the first time since she was told she would be getting married to Louis Hayden, she broke down in tears. This was the popular young billionaire in Oak city. His name was on every lips and his presence was accompanied with much prestige and recognition. Here he is on the sick bed. Or maybe she should stay on his dying bed. He can't help himself and at this point, it seemed no one could help him either. They
"We are sorry Ma'am. On behalf of the others, please forgive us. I promise I won't misbehave again. I will know my place henceforth…"the butler pleaded. Pamela glanced at him, he looked remorseful and his head was bowed. Romeo didn't spare him a glance and was going to Walk past him when Pamela spoke "Forgive them this time. I'm sure they will change for the good". Pamela wondered how Romeo knew about it. Was there CCTV footage that exposed their disrespectful attitude? Last thing she knew, she didn't say a word of it to anyone. They probably might be thinking she made a report about them. Anyways, she knew her conscience was clear as Crystal. "It wasn't my decision Mrs Hayden, Mrs Leah Hayden gave the orders" Romeo replied. This truly was not his decision. His boss' mother did. "I will have a talk with her, she's my mother-in-law after all" Pamela chimed. She smiled and Romeo shrugged. As Pamela was driven in Louis Hayden's car, she cannot imagine that she wo
"No, please stop this already" Pamela chided, wiping the tears off Leah's eyes. How can she suddenly change in mood, wasn't she smiling a few minutes ago? Leah smiled through the teary eyes and said "Thank you". She held Pamela's hands again and gave it a soft squeeze. "Louis is my son. He's the only child Ellis and I have got. You have no idea how pathetic our condition has become since that terrible accident that left him in a coma. Especially when the doctor said he might not come out of it and if he by chance did, he probably might end up a vegetable for the rest of his life. This is the hardest part of an experience any parents could have. I feel like I am dying every single day when I wake up and remember that my son might never come back to me. That he would never walk through that door and called out to me mum. The thoughts of it haunts me every single day…"Leah sniffled and looked away. Her eyes had reddened and she was trying to hold back the tears from com
Both Freddie and Freya were shocked. They least expected to see her, not after what they had done to her. Why did she come? Pamela had always had a good heart that she didn't know how to hold a grudge. They both turned at the same time and glanced at Pamela standing by the door, looking beautiful in a beautiful long gown. She looked expressionless. No traces of pain, hurt or bitterness on her looks. She didn't appear like someone who just heard her parent's conversation. She looked quietly from her mother and then her father. She let her eyes linger a little longer than normal on them before looking past them to the two lovers standing with their fingers intertwined. She glanced first at Lucas. The memory of his love making to Emma a few days ago came fresh to her. The moaning, the yanking and thrusting deep inside of her, flashed through her mind. She felt her heart beating fast. But quickly she let those thoughts go. Her eyes rest on their intertwined fingers and how
He had sacrificed a lot just to let Pamela remain a member of his family. He had pleaded with Freya not to let the cat out of the bag. She told her daughter Emma the truth. He allowed Freya to enforce the marriage of Pamela to the Hayden's family, so as to let her leave the house and have peace. But now, everything was exposed. Lucas had betrayed her and didn't feel remorseful about it. She lost the trust of everyone. Pamela couldn't control her tears. She let it loose. She started sobbing uncontrollably. Romeo looked at her from the rear view mirror and sighed. How was he going to console her, he heard the words directed at her. She probably doesn't know she was not a true member of that family. So much hatred. How can she live with such reality now? If Mr Hayden was fine, he would have given her a better identity and helped her reclaim her lost self esteem. But now, who will help her, except Mr Hayden's parents. How can one experience so much disappointment in one d
It was agreed then that Pamela would be in the hospital, a night before the day of the insemination. She would be given some medication and supplement to keep the uterus ready. As they were about leave, Leah asked if Pamela could excuse them briefly. She would want to have a talk with the doctor. Pamela nodded and stepped out. But who knows that she was going to meet the last set of people she expected to see in the hospital that morning. Emma and Lucas were seated in the same spot where she and Leah had seated a while ago. They probably weren't expecting to see her either. For a few seconds, the three of them stared at each other. But Emma, the usually sharp tongued girl spoke first. "Is it not too early to be visiting the fertility clinic, Pamela? You just got married and even if your husband has a long, large dick,he would never have pushed his seed inside you within just two days"she chided, looking past her to the office she stepped out from. "You should be pati
Leah sighed softly, giving Pamela's Palm a soft squeeze. Such a decent girl, grew up in the same house with that rascal daughter of Freya and Freddie Grayson. She had waited to have a private talk with the doctor and the result of it was that she should be at ease. Pamela is pure inside as much as she appears outside. Her virginity is still intact. How she wished that Louis was fine, that he would make her a woman, showering her with all the love she can ever get. She hoped that Louis' wake up someday, in fact very soon and give her the rights of a wife. Everything will be fine. Once she gives the Hayden's family an heir, she would become an integral part of the family, never would she leave her side. As they drove to Louis' villa, Leah stopped by to say hello to Louis. She walked in with Pamela and all the servants bowed slightly before the two women. Leah just glanced at them and went upstairs. These miserable people would have long gone if Pamela hadn't pleaded with
