CEDRIC

The corridor fell silent again after Edward led Elena away, but I still hadn’t moved from where I stood. My feet refused to take a single step, as if my mind wasn’t finished here yet.

I slowly turned the butterfly hair clip over in my hand. The tiny thing felt cold—strangely heavier than before, as though it carried something I couldn’t quite put into words.

My thoughts drifted back to Elena.

The way her face had suddenly gone pale. The instinctive way her fingers reached for her hair. T

  • Mr. Billionaire, Your Heir Isn’t Yours!   So You're Lilian's Daughter

ELENA“You don’t have to keep smiling like that, Mom.”I stirred the pieces of fruit in my small bowl as I watched Lilian. She’d been noticeably brighter than usual ever since I arrived.“How can I not smile?” she replied. “The doctor said everything is moving in the right direction.”A small smile tugged at my lips. It had been so long since I’d seen her look this peaceful. For months, every time I came to visit, all I saw was exhaustion. Sometimes she tried to hide it from me. Sometimes she pretended she was fine. But I knew. I knew how much she had been carrying all this time. That was why hearing the news about a potential donor yesterday had felt nothing short of a miracle.“I’m happy too, Mom.”Lilian reached for my hand and squeezed my fingers gently.“Now it’s your turn to take care of yourself.” Her gaze dropped to my ankle, still wrapped in bandages. “I’m not done scolding you for being careless on the road.”A soft laugh escaped me.“Then I’d better recover quickly so I can

  • Mr. Billionaire, Your Heir Isn’t Yours!   A Trail of Butterflies

CEDRIC“What’s with that look on your face? Why do you look so miserable?”I simply chuckled and shrugged when Gavin shot me a strange look. The clock on the wall already read nine o’clock. I stepped into the room and let out a quiet sigh.“It’s nothing. Just a slight misunderstanding,” I said at last.“With who? Your brother?”“Yeah.”Gavin clicked his tongue immediately.“Well, that’s hardly surprising.”I laughed softly.“I’m not sure whether to take that as support or an insult.”“Both.”Shaking my head, I pulled a chair beside his bed and sat down. For some reason, the argument with Edward kept replaying in my mind. Especially the look on his face. I’d known Edward almost my entire life. Because of that, I knew exactly when my brother was annoyed, angry, or simply trying to control a situation as usual. But earlier had been different. He had genuinely lost control. And it had all been because of Elena.“So?” Gavin interrupted my thoughts. “What exactly were you arguing about that

  • Mr. Billionaire, Your Heir Isn’t Yours!   The Price of Hope

ELENAI didn’t even realize when Edward became absorbed in his phone again. Ever since he’d delivered that threat, he hadn’t said another word. Silence settled back over the room. The occasional notification chimed from his phone as his fingers moved relentlessly across the screen, as though the conversation we’d just had had never happened at all.Meanwhile, I remained sitting stiffly on the hospital bed. I had tried to be careful. I had tried to do everything Edward wanted. Yet somehow, there was always something that left him dissatisfied. Slowly, I turned my head toward the window. The sky outside was beginning to darken. And for the first time that day, I felt truly exhausted. Without realizing it, I had been carrying this feeling for years—ever since I married Edward Ashford. At first, I always believed things would get better with time. That if I was patient enough, obedient enough, understanding enough, Edward would eventually see how hard I was trying. But year after year pas

  • Mr. Billionaire, Your Heir Isn’t Yours!   Keep Your Distance from My Brother

EDWARD“What are you all staring at?” I snapped, sweeping my gaze across the corridor. The people who had been watching immediately looked away. A nurse quickened her pace. Even the security guard who had started approaching stopped in his tracks and took a few steps back.My jaw tightened.Damn it.There was nothing I hated more than becoming the center of attention because of things like this. I'd already wasted enough time today, and now I had to serve as entertainment for strangers in a hospital hallway. All because of Elena.I exhaled sharply and loosened my tie.Cedric’s final words echoed through my head once more.If that's true, then maybe you should start taking better care of her.My jaw clenched again. Bullshit.Since when did Cedric think he had any right to meddle in my marriage?Without wasting another second, I turned and headed back toward Elena’s room. The moment I pushed open the door, Elena, who had been sitting on the bed, immediately looked up. Her shoulders visi

  • Mr. Billionaire, Your Heir Isn’t Yours!   Don’t Touch My Wife

EDWARD“Make sure your wife doesn’t act so carelessly again.”“Yes, ma’am.”Erika gave me a brief hug and patted my shoulder.“Take care of yourself, darling.”I nodded, watching her walk away down the corridor until her footsteps faded. For a moment, I reached for my phone again, which had started ringing.“Yes,” I answered shortly, not even checking the name on the screen.“The investor meeting has been moved up by an hour, sir. They’re requesting confirmation today.”“I already said earlier,” I replied flatly. “Don’t change the schedule without coordinating with me first.”There was a hesitant pause on the other end, but I didn’t wait for an explanation.“Just follow the last instructions.”I ended the call and slipped the phone back into my suit pocket.Erika’s footsteps were still echoing faintly down the corridor, growing more distant. At this hour, I should have been in the office. But because of Elena, I was stuck in a hospital instead. Situations like this shouldn’t be disrup

  • Mr. Billionaire, Your Heir Isn’t Yours!   When Family Feels Like a Cage

ELENAThe pain in my ankle hadn’t fully gone away, even after the nurse left the room a while ago.I stared silently at the hospital ceiling. The familiar scent of antiseptic immediately filled my senses. The only sounds were the faint beeping of a machine beside my bed and distant footsteps outside the door.Edward had been standing not far from me the entire time. Not to take care of me, but rather, he was busy with his phone.“I already told you, move that meeting to tomorrow,” Edward’s voice came through the phone, flat and indifferent. He walked a few steps away from my bed. “I don’t care about the reason. Just get it done.”I tried to move slightly, but a sharp pain immediately shot through my ankle. Instinctively, I covered my mouth to stop myself from making a sound. Only then did I realize how dry my throat was—it felt like I hadn’t had water in hours.“I’ll send the revisions tonight,” Edward continued. “Don’t disturb me unless it’s important.”I bit my lip, then called softl

CEDRIC“What exactly were you doing to end up like this?”Edward stormed into the treatment room and went straight to Elena’s bedside. His gaze dropped to her bandaged ankle. Instead of looking relieved, his jaw tightened.“How did you even manage to get hit by a car?” he continued sharply. “You’re

Several people around the conference table were waiting for my response, wh
