My heart thumped in my chest as I paced towards the school playground where Jay was playing with other children.

I was getting closer and about to call him when he suddenly turned around. The moment he spotted me, his face lit up and a wide smile formed on his face. He ran toward me with his arms open.

“Mr. Ethan!” he called out, his voice filled with excitement.

My heart swelled with joy. I dropped to one knee, embracing him as he threw his small arms around my neck. I held him tightly, and for the first time in a while, I felt a kind of happiness I couldn’t explain.

"I have missed you, Jay.", I whispered with a smile.

Some of the teachers who recognized me came to greet me with a bow. They were stunned at how Jay looked exactly like me. One of them asked if Jay was my son but before I could respond, Jay swiftly answered, telling them that I was his father.
