Chapter 62

Ethan's POV

I stared at my phone's screen, watching the three dots dance, indicating that she was typing.

“It’s really nice, thank you. I didn't know you cook,” she texted back, with an emoji that looked like a smirk accompanying the last line.

There was really nothing I had to say after that; I just sent a sticker that looked offended.

“You use stickers too?!" she sent back.

What did she take me for? An old man who lives under a rock? I mightn't be someone who constantly chats on my phone, but I do know the basics of chatting.

“Of course."

Just as I sent the last text, Rex informed me that we had arrived at the office. I stepped out of the car with my phone in hand and started walking towards the building.

Upon entering my office, I saw Lucas pacing. That's never good news.

“Welcome," he said, running towards me. He was about to say something else, but I stopped him.

“Allow me to enter the office first, then you can tell me the bad news,” I said, walking past him.
