CHAPTER 6

Joseph's POV

Seeing Amaka again after four years of ending my relationship with her makes my blood boil hot.

I try so hard to forget her, but it is the hardest thing I ever do. My family cannot know I have an affair with a poor girl. Although I take her innocence, that does not mean I have to marry her. Nevertheless, she is the prettiest girl I ever see.

When she walks into my office, my heart skips several beats, leaving me gasping for air.

My jaw drops in surprise, but I swiftly compose myself when I see the shock on her face too.

Amaka is more than shocked to see me, but I switch to my stoic side, maintaining my professionalism. I have to pretend like I never know her, but my manhood keeps twitching in my boxers, longing for her wonderful touch.

"Um, have a seat," I gesture to her.

Amaka tries to ask if I know her, but no way do I go back. I have moved on, and my father wants me to marry a senator's daughter. Her father owns several businesses and is a great philanthropist.

Her name is Nina Stanley. She is tall, pretty, and twenty-four years old. I lie to Amaka Richard about my age.

I am twenty-five when I meet Amaka. I come from the gym that day when I see her going home with her younger sister.

Amaka wears an armless red dress, and seeing how beautiful she is in that body-hugging red dress, I cannot get her out of my mind.

She comes from an average family and is easily gullible. When I approach her then, I am scared she rejects me if I tell her my real age, so I lie just to get her to date me.

I shower Amaka with gifts, but she only thinks about marriage.

She wants me to marry her—an eighteen-year-old girl. I only want sex so my body calms down from the level of effect she has on me. I have no idea my father plans to relocate after his last successful business deal that makes him even more famous.

Dad discloses to my mother and the three of us that we do not live in Palazzo Town anymore. We have to move to the Island side of the city, where he can afford a more luxurious and comfortable lifestyle.

This cuts my relationship with Amaka short, though I would love to sleep with her again and again, before I relocate with my family.

Amaka is heartbroken after I sleep with her. She delays us having sex because she wants to keep her virginity until marriage. She does not want to lose herself to just any man, and I lie to her that I marry her just to taste her juicy cake.

I am a twenty-nine-year-old man now and will be thirty in a month's time. My father hands over this company branch to me after I prove my worth, while he continues with his new establishment on the Island.

As for my younger brother, Aaron, he is twenty-five and has recently graduated. Although he has no interest in business and is into filming and skit making, our father will not have that. He wants to force Aaron into managing the company branch, but Aaron does not care.

Now I am confused about what to do.

Seeing that questioning look on Amaka's face, I know I have wronged her. I recall she later calls me with a different number after I block her line and try to forget about her.

I recall that night Amaka calls and tells me she is three months pregnant.

I am shocked, as I am at home with my mother. Mom notices the change in my demeanor and tries to ask what the problem is. She says, "What's wrong, Joseph? You look so tense, like you heard bad news. What happened?"

"Nothing, Mom. Excuse me," I quickly retreat to my room on the top floor and make it clear to Amaka that we are over. That is the worst day of my life, as I feel so bad to cut her off.

I warn Amaka never to call me again, saying, "Don't ever call me again, Amaka. We had sex only once. You refused me from touching you, so how could you get pregnant from that encounter?"

"But..." Amaka begins.

"No buts. I used condom, and I remember withdrawing from you when we made love!" I state firmly. "Go on and look for who else you slept with and pin your child on him. Don't call me again."

Damn it! The memory comes flooding back now, and I am confused about what to do.

Should I own up that I know Amaka?

Should I tell her I am sorry and that I have not forgotten about her? I am so confused, but seeing her smiling with Simon makes me jealous.

Amaka is extremely beautiful, and she has a cute dimple on her chubby cheeks.

I cannot look away from her face, and I recall how heavenly it tastes kissing her pink lips.

"Sir, it's 7 p.m., and most of the staff has left. Aren't you going home today?" My head of security, Tyler Ivan, comes into my office and speaks to me.

"Right. I will be going home now," I say, rising from my office chair. I shut down my laptop and pack it up to leave the company. I set it into my briefcase, as I have some unfinished business to do.

My phone rings, startling me out of my trance. I pick it up from my office desk where I have kept it. I glance at the caller's ID and see it is Nina calling.

I get engaged to Nina last month because my father is on my neck, insisting I marry Nina, and there is nothing else I am waiting for. We are rich, and so is Nina's family.

Under my father's pressure, I get engaged to Nina even though it is not what I want.

Nina is a business administrator. She is very professional and manages one of her father's private businesses. She is classy and not the type of lady to mess with.

I love sex, and even after I fall out with Amaka and move to the city, I sleep with a few women that I pay to do the deed with.

Nina will not let me touch her, as she says no sex until we are married.

I respect Nina's choice, and since my father wants us to marry, I respect him a lot. He comes from a humble background and works hard to achieve the height he is at today.

I cannot say no to my father's request, so I comply and get engaged to Nina Stanley.

I do not get engaged to Nina because I love her. I do not feel anything for her, but I do respect her professionalism. It gives me a sense of peace that she educates my children well and that she is not a loose woman.

But now that I have seen Amaka Richard again, memories I have long buried and feelings of the past that I try so hard to forget come rushing back into my mind.

Even thinking about Amaka now—her smile, her looks, and the way her big brown eyes hold mine—makes my dick twitch in my pants, longing for her touch.

"You can leave, Tyler. I will soon leave. Let me answer this call," I tell Tyler, and he responds, "Alright, boss."

Tyler exits my office, and I answer my incoming call. "Hello, babe."
