IvannaChristian drags me to the centre of the hall room when I keep asking him to stop. I know he's not gonna listen to me anyway. "Chris, please", I plead to him as I feel almost every eye coming toward me. I have never felt so embarrassed. After Mrs Fox had such a big misunderstanding, I'm feeling like I look the worst right here. Christian doesn't listen to me and grabs my shoulder tightly with a big smile towards the audience as I look down. Here I'm standing in a pair of jeans and a top without a bit of make-up on my swollen face which has permanent dark circles. My ruined body which could be hidden if I planned a gown, hair tied in a messy braid. I don't blame Mrs Fox for thinking that way. "Hello, everyone", Christian's voice drags all the attention from each corner, and so do Mr and Mrs Fox. I find Mrs Fox frowning as she sees Christian holding my shoulder.Damn! That's more embarrassing. I don't feel confident enough to look at the crowd. "So, I generally don't do those w
IvannaI turn around and find her wearing a tight-lipped smile. Despite being nervous about the first encounter, I smile back at her. "Hi, Mrs Fox", I mutter. An awkward silence. "Give it to me. I'll feed Chrisanna", Emily takes the plate from me. "You guys carry on"As Emily leaves there, I clear my throat and look at Mrs Fox confidently. "Well, I already apologised but still. I thought to apologise personally. I didn't mean to hurt you, Mrs Scott", she says. Her voice doesn't match her words. I believe she's like that. I hardly judge people by the way they speak."It's completely fine, Mrs Fox. I truly didn't mind. It was obvious that you might not expect Christian's wife like that", I tell her."You didn't mind. But I guess Mr Scott took it really really— seriously!" She takes a sip from her drink. "No. Actually— he didn't—" I stutter. "He didn't want to point you out with that. Actually, I didn't want to be involved in the party because of my appearance. He just wanted to mak
Thea"Thea!" Tiffany jerks me as I roll over the bed, not getting enough sleep. "Thea, get up, I said""God! Tif! Leave me alone. I wanna sleep", I screech, putting the pillow on my face. "What about your morning workout? You never wake up so late. What were you doing all night? Get up, Thea. I wanna talk to you", she keep barking until I jump off the bed while roaring."What's your problem?" Groaning, I struggle over the bed and suddenly my eyes land on the clock. It's too late. Damn! I missed my workout and I'm not even full with enough sleep. "Hmm. Are you in sense now?" Tiffany crosses her arms, glaring at me. "It's not a big deal, Tiffany. And why are you glaring at me like that", I shrug. "Because I can't believe you're doing this", she scoffs."What?" I sneer. "Stop cracking riddles and say it straight. What are you trying to say?""Thea, did you forget that you're married and you have two kids?" She narrows her eyebrows. "No. I remember that and what the hell are you try
Christian"Chris!" Ivanna calls me out when I put on my shirt to leave for work. She has been struggling with her clothes for a while. I saw her trying out like five to six dresses in just a few minutes. Don't know what she's up to. I'm trying to notice her well these days after finding some weird things in her behaviour which I should have done a long ago. She presses her lips nervously and looks at me with her curious eyes. "Yeah""Umm— am I looking good?" She asks, settling her frames well. It brings a chuckle to my face as I cover my mouth, scanning her from head to toe carefully. She has worn a rose gold oversized shirt with a pair of black denim jeans, her hair as always braided with a few strands hanging from both sides of her face. I keep smiling at her lovingly as she wants the answer. Her reactions almost go blank with each passing second, filling anticipation in her icy blue eyes. "What's wrong?" She mumbles, looking down at herself as I walk towards her, settling my
ChristianMrs Fox is weird. Or else I'm way too backwards to be social enough. She doesn't seem to be friendly but she was indeed trying to be friends with me which made me kinda uncomfortable. I liked forming bonds naturally and it happened through work and necessity. Sitting together for no reason and forcing myself to be friendly are not my things. I hope she doesn't take it seriously. "Mr Scott", the receptionist calls me out. "Mr Fox is available now. He's waiting for you in his cabin" "Thanks" Thea"Are you thinking about Ryan and Kevin's school?" Tiffany asks me."No", I groan. "Then?""Something else", I mutter in my thoughts."Something else? Don't say it's about Christian Scott?" With her words, I immediately shoot a strong glare. She stammers. "When will you start minding your own business, Tiffani?" I shrug."I'm minding my own business", she grunts while unpacking kids' stuff. "I try to stop you from doing wrong things because I'm concerned about my livelihood. If
ChristianIt takes me enough time to process what Emily told me. I don't doubt her predictions at all. She knows such things better than I do. However, the only thing that is freaking me out is that I didn't take them seriously. My focus has completely drifted from work. I can't concentrate anymore. I'm already stressed out about Chrisanna's health. I didn't see this coming. Covering my face, I breathe heavily to calm down. I'm not sure yet. What if Ivanna is actually just disturbed and it's not a disorder. Emily said she was not sure. I hope this is not true. For that day, I close my work and leave for the villa. *I come back to the villa this evening today. Ivanna and Chrissie mostly aren't here at this hour. Ivanna stays in her firm and Chrissie stays in Emily's place. I would have time to process things. As I enter the room, surprisingly I find Chrissie half-lying on the bed, reading her comic book. "What a cute surprise!" I exclaim with a chuckle as she looks over at me. A
Christian"Yeah. Because I don't think I'm just giving my best to you and Chrissie. I can't tell you how I feel every time I think about the mess in our lives"I pause, gazing at her, figuring out how I should actually feel. I remember what Emily told me. But to the heck! Why? And how? How can she even have such a disorder when I had never given her a single chance to think about such nonsense. "Are you done?" I leave the bed and glare down at her as she gawks at me with her devastated eyes. "You wanted to say. And I listened to you. Now it'll be better if you just dump all the stupidity out of your brain, Ivanna""Why are you talking to me like that?" She exclaims. "Because I could do nothing by talking to you properly", I seethe. "Chris!" She exclaims at my twisted reply. "What? Why are you so surprised? It's obvious that I'll react this way if you utter such nonsense even after I try my best for us""You're not getting it", she gets up and comes in front of me. "I just want to
ChristianThe lights are deemed with a cold breeze waving the curtains of the room when I push the door and walk inside. My eyes land on Chrisanna sleeping soundly on her bed. I smile at her and toss the coat aside, rolling my eyes around to find Ivanna. I really regret losing it again. She might be really hurt. And undoubtedly, she might have cried a lot. However, I hope she understood what I was trying to explain to her. I hope she stops thinking that way. In the meantime, I feel something crashing on my back. As Ivanna's hands slide under my arms and wrap around my torso, I realise she has hugged me from behind, resting her head on my back. I can hear her breathing heavily. "Where have you been?" She complains, almost sobbing. "I was around", I whisper. "Don't go like this. I hate it. I hate it when you walk away in anger", she grunts, both anger and agony visible in her tone. "Then stop making me angry. Simple", I scoff. "I'm sorry", she whispers against my back as I hold bo
