Her teary devastated eyes linger on me out of shock as if she can't believe what I just said. I think I was ready for her.

"You— you knew?" Her voice vibrates. "You knew it— it was me"

I nod with a sigh.

She pauses her stunning eyes on me for a whole second and immediately covers her face.

"Iv", restless, I strive to hold her but she jerks my handoff.

My heart twists as I stare at her. She goes completely silent again, gathering herself away from me. She's not crying or anything.

She's just taking time to absorb what I just said.

"Iv, I—"

"Why?" Her voice cracks as she keeps her mouth covered, placing it on her knees. "Just why?"

I don't have an answer to defend what I did. Because it'll be too much for her to handle in a day.

She abruptly lifts her face, burning anger visible in her ruddy eyes as she fumes, holding
