Joanna flinched at Damian's outburst.

He had always been a cold man, but he rarely raised his voice like this when Sienna was home.

"Y-Yes, sir. I'll make it right away," Joanna replied with a trembling voice before hurrying back to the kitchen.

Damian let out a frustrated snort.

He roughly unbuttoned his suit jacket, and the moment he took it off, he tossed it onto one of the dining chairs.

He slowly walked around the living room, his eyes scanning every corner of the house.

The executive office suddenly felt utterly empty, leaving behind a suffocating silence that cut sharply between the two of them.Sienna stared at Damian with a calm expression. There were no tears, no glistening eyes, and absolutely none of the anxious gestures Damian had expected to see.Sienna took a deep breath before slowly curving her lips into a faint smile—a cold smile that clearly emphasized the boundaries between them.“Beg you?” Sienna repeated, her voice remarkably calm yet striking directly at his ego. “Mr. Blackwell, please don’t act as though you’re some hero who’s come to save us. From the very beginning, our relationship was based on a written agreement without any involvement of feelings. That agreement ended when the one-year contract expired. And why would I need to stay within your reach? What exactly are you expecting from me?”Damian’s jaw tightened. His eyes narrowed as he watched the woman before him remain so composed.“I will never beg you again like I did a

Mrs. Stevani reached into her handbag and pulled out an elegant black business card with gold lettering that shimmered beneath the living room lights. She extended the card toward Sienna.“The new owner’s name is Damian Blackwell,” Mrs. Stevani answered casually. “He sent his personal assistant here this morning to settle the entire transaction in cash. So, regarding the lease extension, expenses, or the future of this orphanage... you’ll have to deal with him directly.”Thud.Sienna froze. That name echoed so loudly in her chest that her entire body suddenly stiffened. Her fingers trembled slightly as she held the business card, her eyes fixed on the words printed beneath the Blackwell Group logo.Damian? Why would Damian suddenly buy this orphanage? Sienna wondered in confusion.Various possibilities spun wildly through Sienna’s mind. Confusion, suspicion, and panic intertwined into a storm that burned through her thoughts.Had that man deliberately bought the orphanage to get reven

Sienna hurried through the slightly rusted iron gate of the orphanage. Her hurried steps gradually slowed when her eyes caught sight of several young children cheerfully running around the front yard, chasing a ball.“Sienna’s here!” one of the small boys shouted excitedly while waving his hand.Sienna put on her warmest smile, doing her best to hide the panic that had been battling inside her all this time. She crouched down for a moment and gently stroked the boy’s head. “Good morning, sweetheart. Be careful while you’re playing, okay?”The children surrounding Sienna nodded before scattering again to continue playing. After greeting the children, Sienna immediately turned and entered the orphanage building. She walked down the dimly lit hallway toward the caretakers’ room on the ground floor.Click.Sienna pushed the door open. Naomi was sitting on the edge of the bed, her fingers tightly intertwined. The young woman’s face looked pale and anxious.“Naomi,” Sienna called softly as

Inside Julian’s car.Silence filled the cabin of the white sedan as it drove through the deserted streets at night.Julian calmly handled the steering wheel before briefly glancing toward Sienna sitting beside him, then attempting to break the silence between them.“Sienna... did you just come out of that nightclub?” Julian asked casually. He briefly glanced at Sienna again after speaking.Sienna flinched in surprise. Her eyes widened as she looked at Julian, who had already returned his attention to the road.Sienna couldn’t lie, but she also couldn’t tell him the truth outright.“W-What? Why would you ask that?” Sienna asked first, trying to smile to conceal her nervousness.Julian smiled faintly. He knew from Sienna’s tone that she wasn’t exactly telling the truth, but she wasn’t lying either.“Just a guess. There’s a faint smell of alcohol and cigarette smoke on your clothes and hair.”Sienna immediately sniffed her sleeve, only then realizing that the smells from inside the club

Sienna stepped out through the back door of the nightclub with her shoulders slumped in exhaustion. The cold night air immediately brushed against her skin, making her pull her shirt closer around herself. She walked toward a bench on the deserted sidewalk, then sat down beneath the dim glow of a streetlamp.Sienna opened her palm and stared at the cash the manager had handed her earlier. Her brows drew tightly together. Only then did she realize that the amount of money in her hand was far too large compared to the two hours she had just worked. This is too much... Sienna thought anxiously as she counted the money in her hand again.Indeed, there was far too much money.Sienna briefly stood up, intending to go back inside the club and return the excess. However, her steps suddenly stopped. She remembered what the manager had said about the commission system for selling expensive bottles of wine in the VIP room earlier.“Maybe this is the commission from those two expensive bottles,”

Hearing Sienna call him by his full and formal name for some reason struck directly at Damian’s ego.Damian’s chest rose and fell heavily. His dark, intense gaze locked straight onto Sienna’s eyes, trapping the woman tightly between the cold wall and the enclosure of his arms.“What are you doing in a cheap place like this, Sienna?” Damian whispered, his voice low yet filled with cutting contempt.Sienna clenched her teeth at his words. But before she could answer, Damian spoke again.“A drink attendant? Are you so poor and desperate for money that you have to degrade yourself by working here?” Damian’s voice was quiet, but every word cut sharply into her.Sienna clenched her fists at her sides, trying to suppress the shock and trembling in her chest. Especially after hearing Damian speak as though he was belittling her current circumstances.Damian curled his lips into a crooked, arrogant smile. “Why? If you need money, why didn’t you just come to me like you did a year ago? Why sell
