Once I had completed my midday meal, one household staff graciously served it. I then received a phone call from my mother.

I greeted my mother with a warm hello, Mom.

"Hey, my little one. How are you today?" I responded to my mom's inquiry, "I am fine."

I hesitated to share with my mother the incident of being slapped by Samara. I didn't want my mother to feel guilty about my decision to remain here.

I sensed the possibility of finding a resolution to Darlington and my relationship. Since I arrived, Darlington hadn't done anything to make me despise him. Despite his usual aloofness, he occasionally showed a warmer side towards me.

"That's great news. It was your father who let me know about your desire to come back home. I wanted to call you, but he clarified that he had already spoken to Mr. Joshua. How's the urban lifestyle treating you?" Mom inquired again.

"I haven't ventured beyond the confines of this home just yet. I'm still indoors." I responded.
