Chapter 05

Sheryl had long guessed that her daughter would be uncomfortable with Marian\'s presence, even if she was living in the basement. She specifically asked a servant, Martha Chen, to accompany her daughter.

Originally, Martha thought it was just going to be a petty insult battle between two pompous rich girls, she had no intention to intervene and she stood by with her head down.

But now that Ruby\'s soul was being distorted with pure anger, Martha had to step up and stop her before it got ugly.

She coaxed her in a kind voice, Ruby told her what Sheryl told her until finally giving up and calming down.

Ruby angrily directed the servants behind her, \"Throw it in there!\"

Then two younger servants stepped forward and they threw two stacks of clothes in front of Marian.

Ruby looked at Marian arrogantly. Martha was right, Marian was talkative like most country bumpkins, but she didn\'t expect her to have a sharper tongue than most people.

\"Here, some hand-me-downs for you. They\'re all big name brands, have you heard of them?\"

Ruby looked arrogant and triumphant, as if giving her old clothes to Marian was a great gift to her.

\"You should change your clothes into something more elegant. Honestly, you look worse than a beggar in that shirt and you can\'t afford to look bad in front of anyone anymore. There\'s no need to thank me, those clothes don\'t fit me anyway.\"

Marian looked down at herself. This was a T-shirt?

This \'shirt\' was delivered to her a few days ago. Frank had hacked thousands of computers to get one of ten pieces made in the world.

She wouldn\'t have worn it, but Frank begged her to wear convincing her that it was difficult to get it and that the design was simple, just how she liked it.

Unexpectedly, in the eyes of Ruby, this dress made by top designer Marie Dai, were clothes that were worse than a beggar\'s.

Marian suddenly felt that she shouldn\'t tell Ruby anything. Things might become too troublesome if she knew too much.

Ruby thought she was shocked by the clothes she gave when she couldn\'t hear Martha say a word.

\"Marian, daddy has also arranged a school for you. You can\'t go to school if you can\'t read, but our Su family can\'t afford to lose you, so he also donated a library. You should be grateful and study there, so as to not waste the Su family\'s money.\"

Ruby felt that although her family was rich, it would have been better to buy a few bags for her than to waste a single cent on Marian.

Marian laughed and sneered at her.

As she heard the sarcasm in her laughter, Ruby frowned, with a trace of doubt in her eyes.

\"Hey, redneck, what are you laughing at?\"

Marian lowered her head and raised her eyebrows. The expression on her face was insensitive.

\"What am I laughing at? Ruby, the Su family\'s money that you\'re talking about is my money. Be grateful to myself, what an idiot!\"

Ruby couldn\'t help but blush on the spot, she cried angrily and rushed out.

When she left, the other servants naturally followed her.

Marian\'s ears could only hear the quiet atmosphere of the basement. She looked at the old clothes on the ground and she shook her head helplessly.

Her sister was too easy, she cried after just a few words. She wasn\'t fun at all.
