Chapter 06

At the Huo Family Estate.

After hearing the news that Jamess had promised to be engaged to a girl from the countryside, Ian Shen rushed to the Huo Family Estate as soon as possible.

Ian was the only friend that Jamess had publicly acknowledged, which was why he felt concerned when he heard the gossip and rumors about Jamess\' engagement.

\"Hey, Jamess, you have to tell me why you agreed to get engaged to a country girl like her. I can see she\'s a pretty girl, but Yuncheng is full of pretty girls, why did you choose her in particular?\"

Jamess was looking at his company\'s financial statements, but Ian kept hovering around him like a fly.

At some point he couldn\'t take it anymore, he put the papers down.

He turned his head and glanced at Ian, but there was a deep chill in his seemingly windy eyes.

Ian quickly gave a smile, and said to him, \"I\'ll get the door for you.\"

The person who knocked was Donny Huo, an assistant who has been with Jamess since he was a child.

Donny was trained to be an assistant since childhood. Early on in their lives they were introduced to each other, at first he was a companion, but as they grew up he became a fully-fledged assistant.

Like his boss, Donny had a cold face all year round. He never once smiled and people assumed it was because of his training as a personal assistant.

Ian whispered his nickname from behind him, \"Ice Face.\"

After Donny entered through the door, he glanced at Jamess and saw that he didn\'t say anything. Jamess could care less if Ian was here or not, so he reported to him directly, \"Marian\'s information is here, Young Master Huo.\"

Ian was excited when he heard his words, \"You even sent someone to check on her. Let me see that!\"

After speaking, he grabbed the document in Donny\'s hand and opened it excitedly.

In the next second, Ian frowned and looked at Donny with a look of annoyance.

\"Ice Face, are you messing with me? Why is the paper blank? I thought you came to Jamess with information.\"

In the document, there was nothing inside it, except for Marian\'s photo, name and age.

Ian thought that Donny didn\'t want to let him see it, so he deliberately hid all the information about her.

Donny looked like he was used to dealing with the unreasonable Ian. He simply exhaled through his nose.

Donny didn\'t move, but his eyes looked at Ian like he was an idiot.

But Ian wasn\'t that stupid, he reacted instantly.

His eyes widened, with a little shock in his tone, he asked, \"Wait, you didn\'t find anything?\"

Donny nodded politely, he was grateful he wasn\'t as dumb as he thought he was.

After his guess was confirmed, Ian was even more surprised.

\"Did the Su family hide her information?\"

The Huo family can cover the sky with just one hand in Yuncheng, the Huo family\'s intelligence network was particularly powerful and very thorough in their investigations.

If the Huo family wanted to know everything about a person, they will find out about them.

Soon, Ian denied his own idea.

\"Nah, the Su family is powerful and Grandpa Su is known for being sly like a fox, but there is now way they can hide her. Jamess, do you have any idea why we can\'t get anything about her?\"

Ian turned his head and walked over to Jamess, he wanted to verify the results with him.

Jamess\' eyes fell on the blank space on the document, and a faint evil smile appeared on his face.

It had only been half a day, but things were getting interesting for him.

Ian was so frightened that he didn\'t even ask.

He knew that whenever Jamess showed a smile like that, someone was going to have a bad time, but he wasn\'t sure who.
