Chapter 1

It was a different day, the morning rays hit differently. Sun shined more keener, sunshine seaving through the thin curtain flashed across my eyes.

It was not this sun rays which disturbed my morning sleep, instead it was the chaos and loud clusters of voices combined hitting my ear drum. My home and its occupant are never quite and boring, every day a new drama awaits. But today, it was all more loud, and cracky.

"Keep those vases there!"

"Why are you standing here like a statue, go and bring some sweets from the market."

Mom's voice loud and vibrant with a kink of anguish settled deep down, fluttered all through the house.

With screwed eyes fluttering steps, I travelled down the stairs. My head was still sleepy but the noises all around were ballastic enough to destroy the sleep.

"Mom what's going on? " I grinned rubbing my eyes.

"What are you guys upto?" The scene of the living room was too much lively for a normal day in Singhaniya's house.

I was astonished looking at my father acting to be superman and trying to move the whole sofa all by himself.

"Does this superman need an assistant? " I asked lifting my eyebrows and standing in front of him with hands over my waist.

"This is not a good idea to mock at your dad! " He said with a screwed face. Giving me a hopeless look he took a deep breath.

"Leave it Dad! Who told you to move this house all by your own like a superman " I said out of pity.

I was quite puzzled looking at the changed environment of the house, what made my lazy family members become so much active at such early morning time.

"Are you guys planning for a celebration ?" I was intrigued and was passionately searching for an answer.

"Celebration" My brother giggled.

"Atleast for me" he added looking at me with mischievous eyes.

saying this he gave me a mischievous and secretive smile.

Something fishy... I scorned and looked at him with Incquistive eyes. (My dear brother doesn't give me good vibes for sure. Something is not right. I thought trying to read his mind.)

"Stop staring at me and now pack your bags. " He said in a serious tone, hiding a giggle.

"Mom, is he gone mad. He is talking all nonsense. " I questioned looking at him bewildered.

'Leave all these childish quarrels. It is such an important day and you are standing here like a statue" My mom said adjusting the cover of sofa and patting it clean to remove any existing traces of wrinkles.

"Father was still busy changing the setting of Furniture. Moving the furniture from one side of room to another and trying his best to make the small little hall of ours with ancient 90s furniture look pretty with all this hustle.

" Why are you standing here like a statue, go and get ready." Dad said, peeking through the gap in chairs.

"Yes don't waste time standing here. "

"With fast steps go upstairs and get ready. I am giving you 10 minutes to get ready. " My mother shouted from other side the room.

Voice loud enough to shake whole house.

"Get ready for what? " I asked in a confused state of mind.

"They are coming to see you. " My mother's eyes sparkled with happiness.

'Coming to see me! What? Who? " I asked puzzled, eyes rolling in doubt and confusion.

"Wait! Do you mean! marriage proposal! " I asked in a faint hopeless voice."

"How could I forget that nothing could give this happiness to my family other than planning for my marriage. "

"How many time do I need to tell you people. I don't want to get married. " I shouted being annoyed , and kicked the chair... "ouch"

Ending up hurting my little toe.

"Don't do all this drama. This time we are not going to listen to you. All girls of your age are getting married, and here you are silly girl. Are you going to live whole life alone? " Mom spoke with an angry face.

"We are not going to listen to you this time! It's a really good marriage proposal. " Dad said.

"Do you even know who the boy is?" My brother jumped up in the conversation from no where and spoke.

"Mr Manav" He exclaimed.

"Kk industries; owner. " He added.

"Yes, you will live like a princess over there. They are thousand times richer. There family has well established reputation, which no one in entire state could match."

"After listening to all this, do you still want to deny considering this marriage. " My mom asked bewildered, looking at me in doubt.

"ofcourse, I am not going to marry a man for his riches, and what about my start-up, my dreams! " I questioned there intentions, however deep inside I was also shocked listening to all that. Why would a millionaire want to marry me, an ordinary girl.

"Doesn't millionaires chooses wife's from millionaire or atleast billionaires family. " I went into an solitude.

My father's emotional words soon broke my solitude "See, I am an old sick man. God knows how many days are left for me. How many days will this cancer let me survive. " Dad spoke in a vulnerable voice. His face has fallen colourless. "

"Doctor has told me to live me live to the fullest, I have utmost an year. As a daughter don't you want me to see happy. " He spoke, making me really emotional and sulk in guilt.

He has been talking about my marriage since a lot of days. This seems to be his only last wish. Even if this is not at all what I want, where my happiness lies. These words were enough to make me ready to fulfill his wish(to get married).

"Dad, you are not going to leave us. Don't talk all this rubbish. Ok. For you, I will do whatever you like. I am ready for this marriage. "

"Yesterday his grandfather called and told us about this proposal; after knowing that such a rich family has themselves brought this proposal to us, why would we deny this proposal. " Dad exclaimed.

"I have heard about Mr Manav, he is a very good personality, not only has money and power but also has a very good heart. He is generous, kind, and is known for his humanity, humane deeds all over the community. " Dad added, with a smile. Almost adoring him, and acting as if he is already his son in law.

"Take her and get her ready. There are prospects for you to get ready to a millionaire husband and here you are wasting time standing over here doing nonsense. Girls go hither thither for this opportunity. You must be thankful for this fortune." Momma snarled and bustled in a loud voice.

"I want you ready in 15 minutes, otherwise... otherwise. " She startled and stopped for some seconds. As if searching for some weak nerve, the breaking point of my soul. Something which could force me to meeting my prospective millionare groom.

Millionaire rich brat, possibly he would be a worn out tired old soul, with no excitement towards life. His face must have been dulled and drown due to all those busy years working for nothing but just dollars. His heart must be yearning for nothing more than more and more dollars.

Why should I even meet a person like this? Why should I consider him, marry him just for his riches.

And after all why has he sent this marriage proposal to me? Why does he want to marry me? He must look for someone form upper higher class, possibly someone who could match his stardom, riches, standard.

I was lost in all these thoughts when my head striked my room's door and I realised this man is already turning me crazy.

All the while I was lost on thought and my cousin sister Lily has already brought me to my room.

I am a dreamy girl but marriage, homely chores, a showcased billionaire irritating husband is never sought dreams of my life. I always dreamt of becoming a business women, being independent and making thousands and millions of other women's as well self dependent is what I had always dreamt of. I am striving currently to built up my startup, how could I let someone to scatter all my dreams in a blow. Just like a tint of Vermilion spread over all my colourful dreams making it all submerged in a marriage.

"They have arrived... " It was loud excited voice of my little niece Lilly.

Suddenly all heated conversations were pulled to silence. As if any minister has arrived, everyone wa struggling at last minute finishing of tasks.

"Lilly you take her upstairs fast l, get her ready and you both come down once I will ask. "

"Di(sister), let's go. " She tried to push me through the upstairs while me legs were froze intentionally.

I wanted to see that human about whom my parents are so crazy about.

"Di, please move, otherwise aunt will kill me along with you. " Lilly said in a feeble voice looking at my mom's screwed face and eyes fixed at us.

Lilly was busy selecting the best attire for the day amongst the selected bunch of dresses I had.

Belonging to a lower middle class family I always daydreamt of my closet being filled with all kind of expensive beautiful elegant cindrella kinda dresses.

"Di, this will look the best at you" She said picking out a dark purple, plain monochrome pair of suit. It was the most elegant and beautiful piece I had.

When I am already in shock of whatever is happening in her life all of the sudden; I still figuring out.

How would this or any other dress I will wore change the reality.

"I am not someone who can so easily be made to do anything. I am not gonna marry this person whatever trick my parents try. " Saying this and determined I stood up. Pretending to emerge victorious and less scared.

"Di, they came in a very lavish car. Black and shiny, long and marvellous. And there were a whole line of cars almost 5-6 that flashed across my eyes. I am still puzzled if one boy's family has arrived or six. "

"He seems quite determined to take you away that he has brought whole battalion along with him. "

Lilly giggled wholeheartedly visualizing the scene.

I was gritting my teeths over her light jokes and giggled while mom entered the room racing through the doors in panic.

"Are you all right? " I asked being quite concerned and looking at her gasping and terrified.

"Have you seen a ghost aunt? " Lilly asked bring puzzled. She threw this insane question in most innocent manner and in return got another scary gaze from mom.

"Does he look that bad? " I asked giggling inside. Mom looked so pale and anxious .

"You both girls are just hopeless. Stop mocking. I am quite nervous." She said sitting at the corner of bad almost nervous.

"They hold a very grandeur personality. All of them seems to be the most richest in the town.

We stand nowhere in front of them. They are much above in stature then we could even think of.

They came in a whole caravan of cars and is surrounded by body gaurds. The coat he is wearing seems to have diamond buttons closure. And his father he is such a calm but equally ravishing personality. His face reflects power authority, profoundly. Even the stick he is using is of gold and he must be in his 80s still walk with stern upright posture like an 40 year old man. "

I thought mom is describing that silly rich brat Manav, but the age description helped me figure out the puzzle.

"They are sitting downstairs and instead of doing hospitality I am here. " Mom kept on mumbling one thing or other. I never saw her this nervous.

I can't see her panick like that so I tried comforting her at my best.

"Chill, . Firstly who told you to invite them; and then what did you expected to, did you expected these so called millionaires to arrive in horse carts. I can't understand what are you so anxious of? . " I asked bewildered.

"Beta, you are saying it right, after all they are the one who have asked us for your hand, so we must be keeping our heads high and go downstairs. " She said taking a long breath.

Saying this she stood up and lifted her eyes for the first time since all the while she has entered this room.

"Di, You are look so amazing . My sister is no less than a princess. you look so beautiful. ! " Lilly exclaimed.

"Do I? " I wondered looking at my reflection in mirror.

Lavender coloured floating upper wear accompanied by a white bottom and silver, mirror earings were adorning my not so beautiful self.

Lilly has done quite a good job. Side partitioned curled hairs were adding to the look. But what all this hustle for, a marriage proposal I thought and exclaimed.

But knowing my dramatic family, and there stubbornness I was ready to let things move in their own pace.

But this doesn't mean I am going to give up, or marry that rich bastard...

Don't take me to be so feeble and innocent.

"They have come to see me, so let's make the sight worth watching for them" I exclaimed in whisper.

Mom and lilly could not make a sense of what I said. Meanwhile I chuckled inside. Thinking about the plan I have ready for them.

Marrying me is not so easy Mr Somebody.

You will remain just Nobody to me.

With not so good intentions and heart full of rage I was ready to see Mr Millionaire. Mr Manav!
