Red Scarf - ep14

                                                               ✿ CHAPTER 14 ✿

LEONARD'S POV

She was already gone before I could reach out to her. I looked down at the floor as I gently picked up the red scarf, but something strange caught my eye. It looks like an ID, was it the biker's ID?

I carefully picked up the ID and I examined it.

"Amelia Johnson?" My mind drifted back to all the memories that night as I saw the photo of her displayed on the ID.

I was astonished, I couldn't believe it. She knew it was me and immediately made a run.

At that instant, I quickly made my way outside the mall.

"Hey!, Leonard wait up!" Daniel called out as he saw me walk outside the clothing store. I didn't turn back as I headed outside Immediately to meet up with her.

By the time I got outside, she was gone. I panted softly as I clenched the ID around my hand.

"Damn it!" I cursed.

"Bro!, I've been calling after you, where did you go?" I walked back inside the mall and I saw Daniel coming out of the clothing store.

"I, uhm, I just wanted to see someone"

Daniel noticed the ID clenched around My fingers and snatched it away from me.

"Hey, give that back-"

"Amelia Johnson? who the f*ck is this? And why are you with this?" Daniel looked up at me as he raised an eyebrow.

I sighed "Someone bumped into me at the store and this, this ID fell off the person"

"Where's the person? Why didn't you give it back?"

"I tried to but, she was gone"

"You'll give it back to the receptionist back at the store, the owner might come back for it, I don't see why you haven't done that yet" Daniel looked at me with skepticism, I avoided his gaze.

"Do you perhaps, know this person by chance?"

"No, I don't know her" I lied.

"Then go give the ID to the receptionist back at the store, come on, go!" he pushed me back into the store.

"I'll be waiting for you in the car, hurry up!" with that Daniel walked away, leaving me standing at the store.

I clenched the ID around My hands, I couldn't give this ID back to the receptionist, I'll hold onto it and wait for the time I and Amelia's paths crossed again.

"Did you forget something sir?" The receptionist walked towards me.

"Uhm, no, not at all" I put the ID into my pocket.

"I saw a lovely red scarf, I'd love to get it, for someone"

"There's no problem sir, as long as you remember the particular one you saw"

"yes, yes I do"

While I was heading out of the store, I quickly sent a message to My assistant.

"I need every information about this person" I sent a photo of the ID.

"Yes boss, I'll do that right away"

"But boss, where exactly are you I-" I didn't wait for him to respond as I shoved my phone into my pocket and made my way to the parking lot.

"How was it, did you give it back to the receptionist?" Daniel asked as I got into the car.

"Yeah, I did" I lied as I started the car

"Bro, what's up with you? You're acting weird now"

"I'm fine"

"Did you get the present for your wife?" I changed the topic as I drove off from the mall.

"Yes, I did, I got her a scarf"

I clenched the Steering wheel.

Daniel looked over to the little bag next to me.

"What's this? Oh, it's also a scarf"

"Wait a minute, are you seeing someone?" Daniel's eyes glittered as he stared at me in shock.

"Don't look at me that way, and no, I'm not seeing anyone" I cleared my throat.

His face dropped when he heard me.

"Buying a scarf doesn't necessarily mean I'm dating someone or I bought it for a lady"

"and also, can't I buy a scarf for myself"

"Right, right, my bad" he rolled his eyes and I just sighed.
