Chapter 3

The man practically carried Su Jianxi into the bathroom and bathed her. After she was properly clothed, she finally spoke.

“I have to go.” Su Jianxi looked around the man’s single apartment. It was not large but very neat.

“Wait.” Li Tingxiao held Su Jianxi back, and as the woman looked at him in confusion, he took a large stack of hundred-yuan notes from his wallet and held the cash in front of Su Jianxi. “I’m Li Tingxiao. I don’t know what the rules are like in your line of work, so if this money isn’t enough, I’ll transfer some to you via WeChat.”

Li Tingxiao’s actions made Su Jianxi’s expression stiffen. He probably mistook her for someone who did this for a living.

Still, she did not seem to have to explain anything to him, so she just took the money from Li Tingxiao and thanked him curtly before leaving.

After all, they probably would not have anything to do with each other from now on.

Li Tingxiao watched Su Jianxi’s back as she left, and for some reason, he followed behind her.

He could not explain what he was feeling, either. He simply did not want this woman to leave just like that.

Su Jianxi walked into the elevator, but when the elevator doors were about to close, a hand held them apart, and they opened up again.

Su Jianxi turned her questioning gaze onto Li Tingxiao. The man asked, “How much do you charge for a night?”

The woman frowned. Li Tingxiao entered the elevator, and his presence made the small space extremely oppressive.

“I mean, I have some savings. I want to keep you.”

“Cough cough… You want to… fund... me?” Su Jianxi choked on her saliva when she heard Li Tingxiao’s suggestion, surprise written all over her delicate features. “Don’t think you can afford to be conned by me just because you have some savings. I’m very expensive, I’ll have you know.”

All of a sudden, she did not want to explain the truth to this man anymore. Instead, she was curious to see how far he could go.

“Why don’t you try me?” Li Tingxiao’s thought process was quite simple. As long as he could earn money faster than this woman could leech it off of him, he might actually be able to keep her for a lifetime.

Su Jianxi looked at Li Tingxiao like he was mad, but she eventually told him her contact number.

She did not exactly dislike this man’s performance. They already had one night together, so she did not mind a few more.

Perhaps she should invite Li Tingxiao to her place, so Shen Siming could experience what it felt like to see his girlfriend with another man!

After she left the apartment, Su Jianxi sat on a stone bench by the roadside, took out her phone, and gave Sis Kimi a call.

The call went through in an instant, and Sis Kimi’s voice rang through the speakers, full of disbelief. “You’re kidding me. Is this actually Su Jianxi herself?”

Su Jianxi chuckled softly, her seductive foxy eyes incomparably beautiful. “Sis Kimi, I’m coming back.”

“Coming back?” Sis Kimi paused for a few seconds before shrieking, “Are you saying you’re coming back into the entertainment scene?”

“Yeah.” Su Jianxi sounded extremely determined. She had left the entertainment scene three years ago, thinking she had won true love and strengthened her friendships in return.

She realized just what a fricking fool she had been last night. Her best friend had crawled into her boyfriend’s bed, and here she was, laying herself down so her friend could tread all over her.

Now that she looked back on it, she was utterly disgusted.

As soon as Su Jianxi hung up, she received a call from Shen Siming.

She hesitated for a moment, but eventually she picked up the call anyway.

“Jianxi, you should be back from your business trip by now, right?”

“Yeah, what of it?” Su Jianxi had to resist the urge to smash the phone into the ground, keeping her voice level as she replied.
