Chapter 5

Sis Kimi was extremely efficient. When Su Jianxi arrived at the shoot, she already saw a man giving her a few looks and even flashing her a peace sign.

Su Jianxi nodded slightly before walking inside.

“You’re here, Jianxi!” Su Huanran ran toward Su Jianxi happily, taking her hand with her expression full of excitement. “Hurry up and get your make-up done! The director’s really killing me here. The scene you’ll be doing is focused on the eyes, so you don’t have to say anything.”

Su Jianxi nodded and followed Su Huanran into the dressing room.

If you gave someone a piece of candy every day, that person would eventually take it for granted.

If one day you stopped giving her candy, she would resent you instead!

Even though Su Huanran took her for granted and did not show her even an ounce of gratitude, Su Jianxi never stopped smiling at her.

‘Su Huanran, oh, Su Huanran. Do you really think I’m still the same idiot dancing on your and Shen Siming’s strings?’

While Su Jianxi followed Su Huanran into the dressing room on one end, on the other end, Xu Ran leaned against a large stone pillar, a cigarette hanging from his mouth as he said in surprise, “Brother Li, isn’t that the woman who was with you last night?”

Li Tingxiao’s head had been lowered as he played with his phone, but presently he lifted his head and looked into the distance.

Two women stuck to each other intimately as they disappeared into a room, and one of them was indeed the woman from last night.

Li Tingxiao’s gaze instantly turned cold and sharp. He commanded Xu Ran, “Investigate that woman. I want to know everything about her.”

“Me?” Xu Ran asked, pointing at himself.

“Do you have a problem with that?” Li Tingxiao raised his brow slightly, and Xu Ran vehemently shook his head before running off to investigate.

Li Tingxiao watched as Xu Ran gradually vanished from his field of vision, but at the same time, the images from last night grew clearer.

That woman was definitely a vixen.

The worst part was he had fallen for that vixen at first sight.

Li Tingxiao kept recalling last night, growing rather frustrated.

He opened his cigarette box and took out a cigarette, but before he could put it in his mouth, he heard an extremely excited voice by his ear.

“Young Master, is it really you? I can’t believe I bumped into you here.”

Li Tingxiao turned his gaze to the man in his twenties before him. The latter was dressed in a suit and leather shoes, the perfect image of a successful man.

“You’ve mistaken me for someone else.” Li Tingxiao’s tone was even, as though not at all surprised that he would be mistaken for someone else.

When he heard that, Zhang Da’s eyes immediately filled with tears. He was this close to hugging Li Tingxiao’s legs and bursting into tears. “Young Master, how could I possibly be mistaken? Even if you were reduced to ashes, I’d still recognize you. You’ve…”

“You're annoying, shut up.”

Li Tingxiao stood up and walked out.

Zhang Da wanted to follow him, but to his surprise, Li Tingxiao made him freeze with a sharp glare. “Don’t follow me, and don’t tell anyone you saw me here today.”

Zhang Da had always been afraid of Li Tingxiao. Although the latter had been missing for several years now, the fear remained, etched into his bones.

Now that Li Tingxiao was warning him like this, his mind turned blank and he had no idea what he should do.

By the time he came back to his senses, Li Tingxiao was no longer anywhere to be seen.

Zhang Da smacked his head, feeling infinitely upset with himself as he muttered, “F*ck, I lost him again.”

More than ten minutes after Xu Ran left, he had properly investigated everything Li Tingxiao asked him to.

Just then, Li Tingxiao was leaning on the trunk of a large tree, whereas Xu Ran reported all of his findings to Li Tingxiao like a good little henchman.
