It wasn’t long before Luke saw Vera step into the living room.
Luke silently watched Vera. He had to force himself not to smile when he watched Vera admire all the food.
But then she slid her eyes to Luke.
‘Please, sit.’
He motioned Vera to sit at the table.
Vera didn’t think about it and sat at the table. Luke then sat beside her.
‘I didn’t know what you liked. So, I figured that I would order everything.’
‘I’m not fussy. I’ll eat anything.’ Vera told him.
This pleased Luke.
Though he didn’t show it.
He reached across the table and grabbed a piece of toast and then scooped about four spoons of scrabbled eggs.
Luke smiled to himself when he saw Vera grab a banana and a bunch of grapes first.
A good girl. He thought.
Though what made him nearly lose his seriousness was when the next thing she grabbed was the jug of coffee.
Not so good, after all. He then thought.
Luke finished his eggs.
Vera finished her fruit. And now she was getting into a pile of scrambled eggs.
He liked it that it looked like Vera didn’t care about watching what she eats.
Not like most of the women around him.
Though watching Vera eat, he couldn’t understand where it was all going to fit.
He was amazed that she had a nice body. She was very skinny. But he could tell that she was strong. She was fit.
He had to leave now.
He needed to take a breather.
He had to.
‘I have to go now. But you can take as long as you need.’ He had suddenly spoke. It kind of startled her. Because it had been silent for minutes.
Luke then hopped up and turned to leave.
‘Wait.’ Vera called out.
It jolted Luke to a stop.
Hearing her voice, telling him to stop. She didn’t want him to leave.
Did that mean she trusted him. He wondered.
Luke turned back to Vera and gave her a look as if to say, say what you were going to ask.
She didn’t looked fazed.
If anything, the look she gave back was if she was challenging him.
She was a tough woman. He thought.
‘Have I still got the job? If so, when do I start?’ she asked, then.
Luke tried not to smile. Though his mouth betrayed him, by slightly twitching.
He liked that she wasn’t scared to approach him. She didn’t cower like everyone else does.
‘It’s still yours. I’ll email you the details.’ Was all he said before turning away and walking out of his penthouse.
Usually he wouldn’t have left a woman in his room. He didn’t trust women to not go through his belongings.
But he trusted Vera Rayne.
After all, she has only shown him trust.
He had trusted her to give him a son and then hand the child over without her even seeing what the baby looked like.
She didn’t even ask what sex was the child.
He trusted her with his most precious thing that was his.
That was his seed.
He gave it to her and she delivered.
With a bonus.
She didn’t just give him a son. But she also gave him a daughter.
His children were his everything.
His son, he was the heir to his company. He was very much like himself.
His daughter, she was his little princess. She couldn’t do anything wrong.
...
Meanwhile...
Vera felt uncomfortable being in her bosses hotel room. And he wasn’t here with her.
She thought about just leaving her breakfast and leave.
But she somehow knew that he would probably know.
He probably would ask the kitchen staff, how much food was left on the trolley.
She could only eat it.
So, as quick as she could, she shoved the food into her mouth.
She was going to regret it. She knew that she was going to be sick.
But she didn’t want to stay here for much more longer.
Vera ate her banana and grapes and then finished a bunch of scrambled eggs. She gulped it down with her coffee, finishing it with the glass of orange juice.
She was definitely going to regret it later.
Vera saw that there was still two banana’s on the trolley. And because banana’s were her favourite fruit she dared to take them.
It was an extremely brave thing to do. Considering that Mr. Reynolds was the type of man, the type of person to execute the person who stole from him.
But she figured that he has only shown her kindness. Even though his reputation had said that he was the complete opposite.
She also figured that, it was already paid for. And therefore, it wasn’t stealing.
....
Luke sat in his office, watching the security cameras of his penthouse.
He wasn’t spying on her because he didn’t trust her.
It was because he just wanted to look at her.
He had thought she was the most beautiful woman he had ever met.
As he stared at the screen, a smile spread across his face when he saw Vera open the door and before stepping out, she had peered her head out and carefully looked back and forth.
It was clear to Luke that she didn’t want to be seen coming out of his room.
She was worried what pass buyers thought of her.
He watched on still.
Vera then decided that it was OK to leave. So, she quickly stepped out of the room and then practically running for the lift.
In that time, Luke had noticed two things.
Both made him smile.
One more than the other.
First. Luke had noticed that she had taken two bananas. He smiled because she took something from him.
It made him happy. Because he wanted to give her anything she wanted. And if she could take even just bananas. Then one day she may accept other gifts.
Second. Luke had noticed that Vera didn’t have her heels on. Not even in hers hands.
It made Luke smile because it gave him an excuse to talk to her again.
And that’s why, Luke smiled wider than the first one.
He couldn’t wait to see her again.
It made him wonder, would she come back for her shoes. Or would she make him give them to her.
He knew the answer to that.
He was going to give them to her.
He was going to make it an excuse to see where on his hotel, was she staying.
Luke took Vera to a Diner ten minutes away from the office. He liked the Café at his work. But he still liked to take Vera to more expensive Diners. Josh, he was going to stay in the car. But Luke had asked him to come on as well. Luke wanted Josh to hear what he had to say, too. So, the three of them sat at a private table and waited to be served. ‘Luke, what is wrong?’ Vera asked him. Luke grabbed his Vera’s hand giving it a little squeeze. ‘After we eat, I will tell you.’ Vera looked into Luke’s eyes. She could tell that he was mad. But he was holding it in. ‘Ok.’ Vera decided to say. Luke thought Vera would have demanded to know now. But when she didn’t, this made him smile and then leaned over to her and gave her lips a soft kiss. A young waitress came over and stood close to Luke. This pissed Vera off, making her glare at the girl. Josh had seen this and thought he would speak up. After all, he was supposed to be his bodyguard and not just his best friend. ‘I wo
They arrived early as always. And so, just like every morning, Vera went to the Café on the bottom floor. And now, the guys follow her in there. It had been weeks, and so now, the woman who work in the Café weren’t surprised to see Luke and Josh. Though, it pissed Vera off often because she could see the woman in there lusting after Luke. She also didn’t like them looking at Josh either. Not because she was in love with him. But because she was protective of him. After ordering her large caramel milkshake and her three pieces of banana toast, they made their way to Luke’s office. Usually, she would eat in the Café. But she couldn’t stand how everyone was looking at her guys. In the office, Vera saw everyone glancing at her, but they knew not to keep staring so they quickly looked away. Luke was first to his office and so he opened the door and offered his Queen to go first. Since Vera had been spending more time in Luke’s office, he kept the blinds shut to give Vera the
It was late when the trio had finished with dinner.Vera had enjoyed herself and was happy with the wedding plans. She couldn’t wait the two days for the wedding. She couldn’t wait to be completely tied to her, Luke. Luke felt the same. On the way home, Vera had fallen asleep when they reached home. It was just past eleven o’clock. Josh, he had said that he would see them tomorrow and then left. Luke didn’t want to wake up because he knew she was still having problems sleeping. So, he wanted Vera to get all So, he gently pulled her out of the car and held her protectively against his body. It worried him, that Vera still felt so light. Even with her five months bump. Luke then carried her straight up to his room. He had thought that Vera wouldn’t have minded waking up in his bed because they have now been intimate. Luke gently placed her on his bed pulling the blankets on her. He didn’t dare to change her. He didn’t know if that would frighten her, if he had accidentally
After reassuring that Vera was alright, the three adults had decided to go out for dinner.Josh didn’t want to intrude. But Luke wanted to have his best mate to come along because he knew he could be lonely sometimes.Luke knew that the dude doesn’t even go to brothels or clubs. But he didn’t judge his best mate on that.He actually admired his strength. He truly loved Josh. And just wanted him happy.Vera was the same. She even thought about trying to set him up with someone from the office.Though, she hadn’t met anyone suitable for him yet.And she only wanted the best for her adoptive brother. Because she had the best. It was only fair that he did as well.Vera had a craving for burgers and chips so Luke was going to get Vera her burger and chips. He wanted to give Vera anything she wanted. And he will.Because he was very much capable of doing that.Vera changed into a red dress with spaghetti straps. It was quite an elegant dress. But Vera knew what Luke was like. The guys didn’
When Vera got home, she was exhausted.Though, she was happy that she had found a dress. The moment she saw it, she fell in love with it.It was simple but beautiful. It was strapless with a corset. The corset had a red lace pattern entwined in it.The rest of the dress, flowed down to the floor. And when Vera tried the dress on, she thought it felt amazing. As soon as Vera stepped out of the dress, Mara had brought it, along with some beautiful white high heels.....Luke waited impatiently on the lounge, sipping his Scotch, for when he would see his Vera again. He heard his mother’s car drive up the drive way.He couldn’t help jumping up and racing out the door.Luke could hear Josh chuckling in the background. All Luke could do was smile. As soon as the car stopped, Luke was already there and opening the back door and pulling Vera out. This made Vera giggle, only stopping when Luke crushed his mouth to hers. What could he say?He missed her.But Vera didn’t mind, because she missed
