Chapter Seventeen

Adrianna’s POV

“I stood at a corner, feeling completely detached from everyone and with tears in my eyes, but I wasn’t crying because of Massimo this time. I was because I was at a funeral. My mother's funeral.

Massimo had allowed me to be here thankfully but had still given me more than enough rules to keep me in plane while we mourned.

I could vividly remember the day it had happened, how it had rained heavily and how he had burst into my room as if the devil was hot on his tails. I could remember the look in his face and how I had immediately known as soon as I saw his face.

The memory drifted around my head like water vapor and just when I couldn’t take it any longer, I broke down in tears, feeling very terrible. Everything was my fault, I hadn't been there for my mum.

I had acted very irresponsible and it put myself in trouble. Fine, I knew I did it because I wanted to save her… I had wanted to be able to afford her medical bills, now see where that has gotten me?
