LOGIN003
The sting on Andrea’s cheek refused to fade, even after Miguel's car was out of sight , he stood rooted to the spot, his tongue pressed against the inside of his mouth as if he could still taste blood.
No woman had ever raised her hand against him before, no one.
The guards shifted uncomfortably Behind him, Andrea didn’t turn, instead, he lifted one hand in a sharp motion, dismissing them without a word.
Andrea could not comprehend what had just happened, the quiet, obedient Isabella had slapped him , not once, but twice.
He curled his fingers slowly into fists, s anger simmered in his chest, he wasn’t because she had left, he had never cared whether she stayed or not. Their marriage had been nothing more than ink on paper, a transaction sealed to fulfill his grandmother’s dying wish.
What infuriated him was her defiance.
Isabella had looked him in the eye, unafraid, and told him she was done, as if she had a choice, as if walking away from Andrea was something a woman could simply do and survive.
The sound of heels clicking against marble broke the silence.
Andrea turned to see Vanessa walking toward him, calculating steps, her hips sway deliberately, every step was calculated, Vanessa stopped behind him and slid her arms around his waist, pressing herself against his back.
“Andrea ” she murmured softly. “Don’t let her ruin our moment.” she said
Her touch grated against his skin, and he stepped away immediately, breaking her hold.
“She slapped you” Vanessa said, sounding as if personally offended on his behalf.
“You should have her dragged back here. Women like her only act brave when they think they’ve won.” she added.
“Don’t tell me what to do.” Andrea said, turning slowly
Isabella faltered for a second, then laughed lightly, waving it off.
“I’m just saying “ she continue. “ Now that she’s gone, we can finally be together, publicly.” She said with confidence , smiling brightly.
“I can move in tonight if you want.” she said sounding desperate
The eagerness in her eyes sent an unpleasant feeling to Andrea.
Just moments ago, Isabella was here, demanding for a divorce, Vanessa, in contrast, looked like someone who had just claimed a trophy.
“You’re not moving in” Andrea said flatly.
Vanessa blinked. “What?” She asked, unable to believe her ears
“I didn’t say we were starting a life together” Andrea continued coolly.
“Don’t confuse sex with commitment.”
The words hit Vanessa like a slap and the smile on her face stiffened. “Andrea” she manage to call but Andrea was quick to cut her short.
“I need a drink,” he cut in, already turning away.
He walked into the mansion without waiting for her response. After a brief hesitation, Vanessa followed.
Andrea poured himself a glass of whiskey and downed it in one swallow, he poured another, and repeated thesame process, the burn slid down his throat, but he careless.
Isabella was dramatic, she had always had been dramatic, crying, trembling, and acting fragile, it was how she survived under his roof, Andrea thought weak women exaggerated pain to gain sympathy.
A month ago, Isabella had drugged him into sleeping with her. Now she wants a divorce? Who does that?
“Are you even listening to me?” Vanessa voice snapped him back to reality.
Andrea turned sharply. “You’re still here?” he asked.
“You don’t have to treat me like this, I’m not her.” She said angrily.
“No,You’re not.” Andrea replied coldly.
Something dark flickered across Vanessa's face before she masked it.
“She’ll come crawling back,” Vanessa said confidently. “Women like Isabella always do.”
Andrea didn’t respond, for the first time, he wasn’t sure she'd truly come back.
He picked up his phone and stepped away from Vanessa , turning his back to her as he dialed a familiar number.
“Find her,” he said the moment the call connected.
“Yes, sir,” the voice on the other end replied.
Andrea ended the call and stared out into the night.
“Isabella,” he muttered, a slow, dangerous smile curved his lips.
“Run while you can,” he said quietly to the empty room.
“Because if I find you”
He didn’t finish the thought, he didn’t need to. Andrea Villanueva did whatever he damn well pleased.
The room felt quieter after that thought settled in his mind.
Vanessa was still standing there, watching him. Her arms were folded tightly across her chest now, the softness she liked to wear around him was gone, replaced by something sharp and possessive.
“You’re thinking about her again,” she said suddenly.
Andrea shot her a warning look. “Mind your tone.”
Vanessa scoffed, as irritation flashed openly across her face.
“Why can’t you despise her for once? She made a scene, embarrassed you, then walked away like she mattered. If anyone should be worried, it’s me.”
Vanessa's words grated on him more than he expected.
Isabella had always been invisible in this house, she followed rules, endured whatever he gave her, or didn’t give her, that was why he had never imagined she was capable of what she did today.
“She doesn’t matter,” Andrea finally said , but the words didn't sound true to his ears, he just said them to please Vanessa.
“This marriage ended the moment it served its purpose.” he added
Vanessa stepped closer and whispered to his ears.
“Then why order an investigation?”
“You’re overstepping your boundaries” Andrea said coldly, Vanessa flinched.
“ What has come over you?” Vanessa yelled.
“I don't owe you an explanation”
Vanessa's lips pressed together in anger, but she forced a smile.
“I just don’t want her crawling back with lies. You know how women like her are, always playing victims.”
The word echoed uncomfortably in Andrea's mind, why was he feeling this way? It wasn't his intentions to make Vanessa feel bad, Isabella hadn’t cried when she asked for the divorce, she hadn’t begged, even when he had choked her, there was no fear in her eyes. That realization unsettled him.
“Go home, Vanessa ” he said abruptly.
“What?” Her eyes widened in shock
“I said go home. I need space.” Andrea repeated.
Vanessa stared at him as if he had slapped her instead. “You’re choosing her over me?”
Andrea laughed humorlessly. “Don’t flatter yourself. I’ll call you, I need to clear my head ”
Vanessa hesitated for a while, before nodding stiffly.
“Fine” she said. ‘ But don’t forget, I’m the one who stayed, she left you.”
With that being said, she grabbed her bag and stormed out, the sound of her heels echoing angrily through the hall.
The moment the door slammed shut, Andrea loosened his tie and exhaled slowly, his phone vibrated in his hand, a new message lit up the screen, his eyes narrowed in shock as he read it .
128Andrea and Isabella stood quietly in front of a grave, sadness written on their faces. The gentle evening breeze moved softly through the cemetery, carrying the scent of fresh flowers through the air. A peaceful silence surrounded them as they carefully placed the bouquet down beside the headstone.“Rest well,” Issabella said, wiping a tear from her eyes. For a moment, neither of them spoke.Andrea slipped his hand into Isabella’s gently, his thumb brushing against hers as they stood side by side. Then suddenly, a voice was heard from a distance.“Mommy! Daddy!”Both of them turned immediately at the familiar excited voice.Lucas came running toward them happily across the grass.Behind him, Andrea’s father walked much more slowly with his hands behind his back.A smile instantly spread across Isabella’s face.“Lucas!” she laughed softly as the little boy threw himself into her arms.Andrea pulled both of them into a hug, relief and happiness warming his chest.“What took you so
127The man's hand tightened around the gun as she pointed it directly at Lucas.Lucas immediately froze.Fear crashed through his small body, stealing the breath from his lungs. His eyes widened as he stared at the dark barrel aimed straight at him.“Please!” Isabella cried out desperately, tears streaming down her face. “Don’t hurt him! Lucas is just a child!”She struggled violently against the ropes.“Please… I’ll do anything you want. Anything!”A slow smile spread across Ethan’s face.“Now you’re talking.”He released Isabella’s neck and straightened calmly, adjusting his sleeves like this was nothing more than business.“A flight has already been booked,” he said smoothly. “You’re going to behave like a good little girl and come abroad with me.”He stepped closer, lowering his voice.“We’ll disappear together… and live happily ever after.”Isabella stared at him in horror.“What?” she whispered. “Are you crazy?”The smile on Ethan’s face disappeared instantly.Without warni
126The name alone made Andrea's grip tighten on the phone.“…she is responsible for your parents’ plane crash… and Isabella’s fire accident.”For a second, Andrea didn’t speak. The world around him seemed to go quiet. Then his voice dropped dangerously low.“Why are you telling me this now?”The maid hesitated. “Because she is back. She escaped again.”Andrea’s expression changed instantly.“And her next target… is Lucas… and your father.”“What?” Andrea slowly turned his head.Toward where Lucas had been standing.Toward the wheelchair. His eyes narrowed but the space was empty.Lucas.His father. Both gone.Andrea’s breathing stopped for a split second.“No…”“Sir is there a problem?” The maid asked over the phone.“I'll talk to you later,” he said and ended the call immediately without another word. His head snapped around the compound.“Lucas!”No response.“Father!”Only the wind answered him.Panic finally cracked through his control. Andrea moved fast now, scanning every cor
125The glass doors of Isabella’s company building slid open as she walked out, her heels clicking sharply against the pavement.Employees nearby lowered their voices immediately, sensing the tension the moment they saw Ethan standing beside her car.He looked exhausted.Like someone who hadn’t slept properly in weeks.“Bella, please…” Ethan stepped closer before she could unlock the car. “Just listen to me for five minutes.”Isabella didn’t even look at him as she searched for her keys inside her handbag.“There’s nothing left to say.”“Isabella—”She turned sharply this time, and the coldness in her eyes made Ethan stop mid-sentence.“I told you already,” she said quietly, each word cutting deep. “stay away from me.”Pain flashed across Ethan’s face. “I was trying to help you.”“By lying to me?” Isabella snapped. “By hiding the truth from me? By claiming to be my fiancee and the father of my child? What if I didn't get my memory back. Is this how the truth would have been hidden
124Night covered the city in restless darkness.Rainwater still clung to the roads from earlier showers, reflecting the glowing lights of traffic and towering buildings.Inside a black luxury car speeding through the crowded streets, Andrea sat in the backseat with one hand pressed tightly against his temple. His jaw was locked and his expression dark. The call had lasted less than three minutes. But it was enough to destroy what little patience he had left. The voice of the police officer still echoed inside his head. “We lost her trail.”Andrea’s fingers tightened around the phone.Lost her? After three whole months? The car suddenly became suffocating.“What do you mean you lost her?” Andrea’s voice exploded through the speaker again. The police officer on the other end sounded nervous now.> “Mr. Andrea, after the accident, there were reports that she was taken to a nearby hospital, but there’s no official registration under her name.”Andrea’s eyes darkened.“Because she used a
123Three months later, winter slowly began disappearing from the city. The heavy rains stopped, and the cold nights softened.Vanessa has been discharged, but she was living with Pedro.Pedro's apartment was hidden above an old repair shop, Vanessa sat silently beside the window with a blanket wrapped around her legs. Her expression remained unreadable as she stared outside.Seems like the world had continued moving without her. And she hated that.A soft knock interrupted the silence.“You’re awake already?”Pedro stepped into the room carrying two bowls of hot soup. His dark hair was slightly messy from the morning wind while exhaustion lingered beneath his eyes like always.Vanessa glanced at him briefly before looking away again.“You came back early.”Pedro placed the food carefully on the table.“The restaurant owner closed early today.”He paused.“You should eat while it’s hot.”Vanessa didn’t move. For the past three months, this had become routine.Pedro worked during the d
115The Uber slowed suddenly, and then stopped. Not because of traffic, but because a car had pulled right in front of them, blocking the road completely.Sofia frowned immediately. “Why is that car not moving…?”Before she could finish, the back door of the blocking car opened.A man stepped out.
114Sofia stepped out of a cab and rushed toward the school gate. She entered the school building. She had left everything she was doing the moment she got the call. Her chest was tight with unease.Isabella’s phone had never been switched off before.Never.That alone made everything feel wrong.W
113Andrea tightened his grip on the phone in his hand, clenching his jaw clenched as he stared at the tracking screen.“It’s locked in,” he said sharply, frustration etched in his voice.“Signal’s coming from the mountain.”The guard beside him shifted uneasily. “Sir… are you sure we should go up
112Isabella hadn’t even fully recovered from everything at the restaurant when the doorbell rang. She paused in the middle of the living room, her hand still resting on a glass of water.Lucas was in his room. The doorbell rang again. This time, more desperate.Isabella frowned and walked toward t
