Chapter 2

Author: Crashing Waves
I had waited a long time.

Once I made sure Wayne was sound asleep, I closed my eyes and connected to the mind-link with my dad, Michael Shaw.

"Dad."

I was holding back my tears, and my voice trembled uncontrollably.

"I want to go home."

Dad was silent for ten full seconds.

"Did Wayne hurt you?

"I'll go to the Silver Moon Pack right away. I'll make that punk regret it!"

I refused firmly.

"I don't need you to stand up for me. I'll get my own revenge.

"I only want one thing.

"A potion that can completely sever a mate bond.

"After that, I'll have no connection with Wayne whatsoever."

Dad sounded anxious.

"Nina! Are you out of your mind? Severing the bond will not only erase all memories of him, it could also harm your body. Are you sure you want to do this?"

"Yes," I answered without the slightest hesitation.

Those so-called feelings now made me feel only disgust.

Forgetting him would bring me freedom.

There was a heavy sigh from my father.

"Alright. As you wish.

"But this potion is extremely hard to make. It'll take at least three days to have it delivered to you."

There were three days left.

That meant I'd still have to endure being around Wayne for three more days.

The next morning, I woke up at dawn to the sound of Wayne's phone ringing.

Today was my birthday.

In previous years, Wayne would have given me a surprise as soon as I woke up.

But today, the first thing he did after waking was to pick up his phone and reply to messages.

He didn't even have breakfast. He made up an excuse about needing to handle pack matters before hurrying out.

I watched him get dressed and leave without even wishing me 'Happy Birthday.' My gaze turned cold.

Moonshade raged inside me. It wanted to tear Wayne apart, but I suppressed it.

I would certainly humiliate him as Alpha.

It just wasn't the time yet.

The day dragged on unbearably.

There were no flowers, no well-wishes, and not even a single message from Wayne.

I sat alone in the empty villa, feeling like I was abandoned by the world.

Even if I was the respected Luna of the pack, there wasn't a single person who genuinely cared about my birthday.

It wasn't until eleven o'clock that the villa doors opened.

The chilly air was accompanied by the sweet scent of perfume on Wayne.

The moment he stepped in, his gaze landed on the birthday cake I had ordered for myself. It was left untouched.

His expression turned tense instantly, and he stopped in his tracks.

Finally, he remembered what day it was.

A flash of panic crossed Wayne's eyes as he rushed over and wrapped me tightly in his arms from behind.

His voice was full of remorse.

"Crap. I actually forgot my Luna's birthday.

"I'll cancel all pack affairs tomorrow and take you to our private island for a vacation."

To show that he was sincere, he retrieved a delicate jewelry box from his pocket.

Without asking, he took my hand and fastened the bracelet around my wrist.

"This is the birthday gift I carefully picked for you. I wanted it to be a surprise."

The ruby sparkled brilliantly.

It was identical to the ankle bracelet he had given to Yvonne.

I sneered while I watched Wayne’s smug attempt at thoughtfulness.

There were two days left.

He drank glass after glass until he was numb.Yvonne, whose pregnancy was now impossible to hide, walked up to him."Alpha, Nina is gone, but I'm still carrying your pup," she said."It's time you announced it publicly. I should be the next Luna of the Silver Moon Pack."She finally asked for the position she had coveted all along.Wayne looked up at her. Greed and calculation were written all over her face.He suddenly sneered. He had indulged her before because he never cared. He enjoyed the feeling of being in control while watching her cling to him and depend on him.But now, that same face made his stomach turn.Wayne stared at her and smirked. "Luna? Do you think you deserve that title?"Yvonne thought she had won him over. Her eyes lit up. "Yes. Nina always acted so high and mighty, playing the perfect Luna. She didn't know how to p

He was ready to give me a graceful way out and, at the same time, put Lucas in his place. The summit officially began, and guests slowly filled the hall.At that moment, a small commotion arose at the entrance.Wayne instinctively looked up.Slowly, I entered arm-in-arm with Lucas. There was a smile on my face.It was a stark contrast to the way I had once been when I was by his side.Wayne's heart skipped a beat.He straightened his collar and deliberately ste

I also recognized every elder in the pack.I remembered that I was Nina, the princess of the Azure Pack. But in my mind, an entire decade of memories had vanished. It left behind a hollow void that could never be filled. When Dad saw that I was awake, pain flickered in his eyes.He hesitated for a moment before asking carefully, "Nina, do you remember the Silver Moon Pack?"I looked at him in confusion and tried to recall anything related to what he said."Silver Moon Pack?"I frowned."Are they our allies? Or are they enemies?"When he heard that, he let out a long sigh of relief and stroked my head."They're enemies," he said simply."That's all you need to remember."I nodded.
