Theo POV

I have been trying to restrain my anger since Alpha Logan entered my office. He is here on a business discussion between our two packs but I can't seem to concentrate on the proposals he is making. All I can see is the image of him and my Camilla, dancing intimately at the mating ball.

I wasn't expecting him to attend the mating ball. After all, rumor has it that he Is never interested in attending social gatherings. My problem is not him attending the fucking mating ball,I have a problem with him gluing himself to Camilla throughout the night. He even dared to flirt with her and escort her home. The thought itself fans my anger even more.

However,as much as I want to,I can't unleash my anger on him. My pack needs his as much as his pack needs ours. Our pack relationship is symbiotic.

“ Then it's settled. I'll draft the papers for our deal and have them delivered to you to sign.” Alpha Logan declares. I nod absentmindedly.

I am about to dismiss him when he clears his throat.

“ I have a small request,if you don't mind.” Alpha Logan says and I give him my attention.

“ Anything you ask, Logan.” I reply, faking a smile. For a splitting second,he looks awkward but manages to school his expressions.

“ I was thinking about borrowing one of your trainers to train my pack members.” He requests and my heart calms down. For a moment,I thought he wanted to ask me about Camilla.

“ No problem. I don't mind lending my people to you. I know you would do the same if I asked.” I reply and he gives me a smile.

“ So I can take her to my pack?” He asks and I stiffen. Her?

“ You meant one of my female trainers?” I ask, trying to act composed when I know deep down that I am anything but calm.

“ Camilla to be precise. She has caught my eyes. She is outstanding,very courageous, beautiful and more importantly, she believes in fairness among women and men.”

I listen with clenched teeth as Logan sings praises about Camilla. All I want to do is stuff something hot inside his mouth to stop him from talking. The sound of her name from Jos lips is infuriating. It doesn't help how his eyes twinkle when he talks about her.

“ You know how it is in my pack. I want someone to motivate my female pack members that being a warrior isn't only for the men.” Logan continues. I want to tell him I don't fucking care about his situation,that Camilla is going nowhere but even as her Alpha,I can't make that decision. Especially not when Logan is asking so nicely and we just sealed a deal.

“ Camilla is Indeed outstanding and one of my main female warriors trainers. She is also preparing for her final medical exam. I don't think it's convenient for her to travel outside the pack. I can ask my other two trainers to accompany you.” I suggest strategically.

I can't blatantly say no, but that doesn't mean my hands are tied and I can't use an excuse to keep my little doll away from him.

“ She mentioned something about the exam being pushed to three months laters. Besides,I think it will do her good to leave the pack after her relationship with her mate went down the drain.” Logan counters. The more he talks,the more mad I get.

He is right about something, Camilla indeed needs a break to figure out what she wants with her life. Although she says that she is not getting back with Hector,the fact that their mating bond still exists makes me anxious.

But isn't sending her away with Logan like pushing her in the hands of another man? Especially when this man is Very interested in her. What if she gradually forgets about Hector and catches feelings for Logan? He is handsome and of her age. He is nothing compared to me who can't offer her anything. I can't even show her to the whole pack and have to keep her hidden like a dirty little secret.

If she ends up with Logan,she doesn't have to keep anything a secret.

“ Is that so?” I ask, faking realization. Logan nods.

“I'll really appreciate it if you grant my wish.” Logan insists. Pushed to the corner,I am left with no reason to refuse. I sigh, “ although I am her alpha, this is not something I can force her to do. You should ask her personally whether she is interested in going to your pack to train the females there.” I finally concede.

“ That's okay. I wanted your approval first, then I would proceed to talk to her.” Alpha Logan declares with a smile. I give him a tight-lipped smile.

After thanking me,he leaves my office.

Frustrated and angry with myself,I pour myself a drink. I am about to take a sip of my drink when the door is knocked.

I groan in annoyance before permitting the person to enter. A moment later, Alex,my beta and Camilla's brother saunters inside,carrying a folder of the pack's financial documents I asked him to deliver.

“ Put them on the table.” I instruct without sparing him a glance. Alex does as instructed and turns around to leave.

“ Are you Alright, Alpha?” He asks a moment after his footsteps halt. I lift my face to gaze at him and I see it,the worry painted in his face.

“ Yes.” I state firmly. “ Why do you ask?” I add, curious. Do I perhaps look like shit that he couldn't help but notice?

“ You look troubled by something.” He comments. I give him a smile that doesn't quite reach my eyes.

“ I am an alpha of a big pack, of course I am troubled. Then there's my son,and Camilla.” I reply.

“ Talking about Camilla. It seems she has a new suitor.” Alex replies, beaming.

“ A new suitor?” I ask, feigning ignorance.

“ Alpha Logan seems smitten by my sister.” Alex declares. “ No offence Alpha, but your son is not the right man for my sister. I will never agree to their union.” Alex adds.

I don't feel offended. I'd be offended if Camilla agreed to be with Hector after that blatant suggestion he made.

“ Don't worry. I know Hector messed up. Camilla is a good girl, she doesn't deserve that level of betrayal.” I reassure him.

“ What do you think about Alpha Logan?” I ask.

“ He is a nice young man. He looks like someone who values those dear to him. I think if Camilla ends up with him,I can rest assured he will take care of her.” Alex replies. His words bring a bitter taste in my mouth. Does he value him that much? Even trusting him with his sister's future?

I want to oppose it but deep down I know Alex is right. Camilla would be in good hands if he ends up with Logan. But that greedy part of me that wants Camilla all to myself is there, pushing, nagging me to scoff and snort at his words.

“ And Camilla,you think she will be interested in him?” I continue to prob.

“ Why not? She looked happy last night after spending time with him at the party.” Alex replies.

“ She hasn't been smiling like she used to before. But last time,I saw the old Camilla. I want to see my sister happy. She deserves it.” Alex adds.

There's nothing wrong with a brother wanting to see his sister happily mated. I understand Alex.

“ He wants to take her to his pack to train his female warriors for a week.” I reveal and Alex looks shocked before he breaks into a smile.

“ I didn't expect him to be so fast about his intentions.” He casually comments. I clench my fists hard to stop myself from punching the wall from anger. Everybody can tell that he is interested in her. What if his sincerity moves her and she agrees to mate with him? Can I take it? After years of secretly lusting after her,am I going to watch her taken away from my grasp by another man?

“ Yes. Young people nowadays are open with their feelings unlike us. We watch the people we like being taken away because we can't stand up for what we feel. I really admire them.” I comment, sighing.

“ You like someone and you can't tell them?”
